I did not read the webtoon nor plan to...with that said:
As an avid BL fan, hence the name, unlike most of you, I don't give a $hit about whether there's a straight couple in a BL drama nor how much screen time they are given. To me, it's no different then a BL where the ML's are boring AF & I wait episodes for the side BL couple to make their 3 minutes of screen time.
In this particular story, the BL couple is MILES behind the hetero couple & has SO MUCH catching up to do that the one sided love for Chan Yeoung should have stopped at episode 2 just to have enough of the time we all complain about, to complete the relationship without rushing it.
I happen to like the straight couple. They seem genuinely nice & are absolutely adorbs together. Because neither character was pining for someone that wasn't interested, their story is fairly easy & drama free, thus far.
The not so close to a relationship future BL couple has got some obstacles,,,Heesu's unrequited love just being at the top of them. His fresh devastation is going to take AT LEAST 1 episode to squash leaving another episode for him to even look at Seung Won. We may have a neat little double sided crush by episode 9, a little miscommunication by the end of it, & a nice finale in episode 10 where everyone is moving forward together to college.
Ji Yu & Seung Won are the complete friendship goals & I love them for it.
It's not that I am not understanding of the BL plight but BL fans get pretty lucky with not having to deal with hetero couples too much & definitely not ones hogging screen time.
This is a step above highschool theatre LOL. Thomas & Kong are stiffer than diving boards & their acting is physically painful LOL. The two and a half minutes penciled in for AuauSave is downright offensive. They were the only thing keeping me interested in the 1st 12 episodes & now I keep hitting that FF to get through the cheese filled cringe.
Look, the entire cast is edible but really!!!! IDK. I hope the other shows that all of them have coming out are not this bad. Fingers crossed.
I mean...I'll watch Mark in it all so I'll stay firmly seated. Who knows? Maybe they'll pull out a really awesome ship & make it to my top 5. Eh...top 10.
I haven't read the manhwa either, but in my opinion the bl couple is dead as it is because of how they are adapting…
Maybe if they didn't make him SOOOOO devastated by Chan Yeong's interest in someone else LOL. Like if they made him mildly feelin him? Just a crush, slightly. LOL
This is definitely gonna be a 'confess in the last episode' kind of a show. Or that's where my money is anyway.
Exactly. The straight couple started with nothing. Hui Su has baggage that's in front of him daily LOL. We are gonna need some magic from Seung Won LOL
The straight ML's storyline is just fine as far as I'm concerned. I kinda sorta like them as they really haven't been written to dislike them. Granted, there's no drama with them yet, if there will be at all, but seeing as how it's episode 3 already, & they're kinda feelin each other, I think there's plenty of time for a deeper storyline for them.
NOW
I want to like Hui Su but he's totally overbearing for me almost to the point of aggravation. I know that he's had a thing for Chan Yeong for years but in all these years he's never read the room? Unlike the straight couple's storyline, we are 3 episodes in & this BL couple is dead in the water. Hopefully, Hui Su wakes up, mourns the loss of a future relationship with Chan Yeong quickly, & discovers the total sweetness of Seung Wan all by episode 5. LOL
Side bar - whatever the friendship is between Ji Yu & Seung Wan, I love it!
