Hm.. you clearly need to watch it properly, Ryo is thinking "Futami will take his position in Zen's life as he's his rival now".. As we know Ryo also think or maybe it's even true Zen likes to compete, that's why even in the first place Ryu stared their RIVALRY to keep himself close and interested to Zen..
That was also the reason he refused to compete with Futami cause for him it's was something only he and Zen do and Zen agreed to compete and it hurt him.
In the latest eps Zen said he won't compete with him as it's boring and so Futami reminds him of Ryo when they were rival, and moreover he lied to him about "still working" but he was hanging out with Futami (in POV of Zen). You should never lie about this type of things in a relationship, it only makes it worse.
So it's obvious anyone would get insecure about it. They really need to communicate.

And.. they need to fckin communicate properly. Ik why Ryo is feeling like that, he never once get reassurance of the relationship, and keep on pouring his fondness without receiving much from Zen. As for Zen even tho he's a kind of guy who never say what he genuinely think, but once you come into a relationship you should change that habit of yours... You should talk you him, reassure him and STOP KEEP ON BRING THAT STUPID COMPETITION THINGS, when he said "Futami kind of reminded me of you when you were rival" was like salt on wound for Ryo.

Okay for clarification.. becoming deaf by accident or any other reason, and unable to speak is all part of psychology. When a person becomes sudden deaf they can speak but as time goes on they just forget how to say something as their brain doesn't process sounds anymore. And thus even screaming become hard, so to think they can say any words, it's really difficult.
So muteness most of the time comes along deafness.

Yeah they're adult now.. and in this series and the time of shooting they were minors.. but let's not act like adolescent couple doesn't exist (like high school lover)

I wouldn't say anything about your taste, as it's yours.. but do consider this series is set in 1980s, so expecting "too soon, too much skinship" is definitely not a good idea.
You have set yourself a boundary "I only watch anything if that's interests me within 2 hours".. I get everybody have a limit of their own of judging every show based on that "2hr" is lame. Also you should not rate a show if you've not even watched half of them (it can give bad impression on the people having it on TBR)
