Originally the story is explained as each sister married off and our Fl goes to his best friend who becomes the emperor. They marry have children and she takes over after he dies. She's bad ass. Shawn character devoted his life to protecting his bff and her. There's some conflicting info on if shawns character is fiction and they end up together later. I think the real her lives well into her 50 or 60's.

What I read said Shawn character and her is fiction. That she married the emperor had children he died in a hunt and she stayed a widow until her death. She was regent to their son and an empress. Did I read the wrong history cuz I may have typed it in wrong. Lol. If Shawn character is fiction I hope it's to give us a happy ending dang

I'm only on epi 4. I wonder how this works. He watches as his best friend and love of his life marry and have children (sex)? Then after the bff dies he gets to get his girl? If anyone can pull it off it's this cast but dang I hope I don't gross out!

The more historical I watch the more history I am forced to research and learn lol you can google to see the base story. All the historical lead to death or temporary triumph These are ancient people and were stuck on repeat for a few thousand years none of which was happy moral or safe. Yet here I am learning about a badass female warrior who loved and was a mom. These leads are the finest and our eyes are in for a treat on every inch of the screen. Let's do this and pray this fictional add on gives our Shawn a happy ending XO
