When I section her off into her own box I see a girl with major ptsd who was brutalized by the people who are supposed to protect you, your parents. She received a surrogate to pour all her love in and obsession. I get why she is scared. She has no problem with him being a demon for 1000's of years, all without her. She has a problem living without him in her lifetime (fear).
