The real chan apparently went somewhere to travel and the FL was talking to his friend all the time and she didn't know it... So this friend (the ML) developed feelings for her ... When the FL came to Boston to visit her bf there was this explosion involving the ML and the FL got a call from her real bf's sister that there bf had died(refering to the guy who was traveling) .. The ML lost hearing in one side of ear and also some part of his memory but somehow he can't remember exactly why the explosion happened .. which I think the tick tick sound he mentioned to the doctor...
