Literally it didn’t feel like her disappearance affected him all that much. It was hella anticlimactic. Only part I think was good abt this was him saying that he’s gonna take out the demon Lord and make his subordinates search for her.
And regarding the run time, they could’ve shown us his emotional state and his search for her in a montage that lasts like 2 or 3 minutes if time was an issue. That would’ve still been better than what they ended up giving us. Very unfortunate.

Didn’t read the novel but this whole part felt so out of character to me. It bothers me that he spent 18 years sleeping instead of desperately looking for her. He is insanely powerful, I do not buy that the merging took such a toll on him that his body just said no and he went 😴 and had others search for her. The guy legit doesn’t care abt anything as long as she is safe and no matter his injuries, he always managed to protect her somehow. Like come on he would risk his own life trying to get her back. Also I wanted her ‘’death’’ to be more angsty and see more of his pain throughout the years tbh—

Wish they would’ve stuck with that. Like I know damn well Sima Jiao would fight against all odds to find her no matter his condition.
Why did they change his character so drastically all of a sudden.
