Ok. Stob :omo: You did not just make Xing Zhao Lin and Yang Yang the Weasley twins. I can’t stop laughing at this. I want to watch this for the cast but the script would need to change drastically to be cdrama. Amongst the many changes, there needs to be at least one misunderstanding every 20 minutes and our brilliant Hermione would need to have sudden bouts of cluelessness so she she can rescued by Ron. :cringe:
I have seen almost every single drama here - I scare myself. Scarier yet, how organized your articles are!! It was great walking down memory lane and also cringing at the ratings of some of these dramas. People should still try out all of the ones you listed because it gives such a great taste of all the “typical” varieties of cdramas.
It’s so awesome that there are writers here who authentically want to help MDL-peeps and take this much time to lay out ideas! This list is going to be awesome for those getting into cdramas and even cdrama veterans that may have missed some great titles. Good stuff! Nicely written.
Grlll. You took this to town! :dayum: I actually like how Zhang Han handled pursuing FL without becoming possessive (except when it came to crazy-obsessive SML) or demanding of FL’s absolute adoration. He pushed away and drew a clear line with SFL and gave FL space to go abroad without pushing another confession at the airport. He was nice w/o doing that “I’m CEO so I’ll pave your path for you” nonsense. He apologized when the was a jerk. :oop: Idk. He was a little different than most other grim faced, pushy CEOs that you find in these cdramas.
You try Japanese dramas and movies they are amazing. I can recommend some?
I usually gravitate toward romance/comedy, but lately I have been enjoying crime thrillers like Tunnel and Life on Mars or suspense like Doctor Prisoner and Mouse.
It would have been amazing if they could have given this an unexpected twist and I actually thought it may go…
...I haven't had SLS in the longest time. The SML was so adorable! His sadness at the end made my heart hurt. I hope to see Yoo Jung Woo in full length dramas in the near future. He was great!
It would have been amazing if they could have given this an unexpected twist and I actually thought it may go that way. I'm so sad. This hasn't happened in a long time...
Why the whiney FL, especially one that is actually supposed to be a fighter?? I just never understand these choices.…
The noble idiocy at the end went on for too long. All the way in to ep 24?? The girl is a fighter and there was honestly no big threat shown to warrant cutting off connection with her. Don't even get me started on that last episode's car accident scene. The ML had PLENTY of time to get out of the way and he was standing almost at the sidewalk. Also, who just stands in the middle of the road the road? Furthr, FL legit walked off the sootter and got of the way only for ML to push her back into the trajectory of the car. I have seen some bad car "accident" scenes and schemes, but this was THE worst.
Why the whiney FL, especially one that is actually supposed to be a fighter?? I just never understand these choices. I honestly could not stand the overacting annoyingness. FL has potential because the last 2-3 episodes where she acts sad is pretty decent. The chemistry was great - I believe they are dating IRL - so the kisses seemed authentic.
The storyline with the corporate takeovers and the gym were not tightly interwoven. The business dealings were just business jargon being thrown around and no real plot twists happened due to them. It was more like "so and so said the business is XYZ so, therefore, that is what is going to happen." It honestly started very promisingly but fell flat.
Also, the angst at the end was so unnecessary. Watch it only if you have no other fluffy romances on hand. Even then, brace yourself for a whiney FL (albeit "physically" strong).
Nicely done! This was a great overview of Xinxia and I wish I had something like this before I watched my first one because I was very confused and looking things up left and right. It’s also a well laid out article - so pretttty. [insert :heart~2:]
