Is Amy Sun’s voice dubbed in this? I don’t recall her sounding this nasally and whiny in Accidentally In Love. I like her in that drama and I was looking forward to seeing another of her dramas as FL but her voice is killing me in this...or maybe it’s her acting/delivery of lines.

Also, thank you director/costume department for the sleeveless, low neck tanks when ML is chillin’ at home. Man has some amazing pectoral muscles. Hehehe
Romance of the leads slow but nicely shows how they fall for each other. Much more realistic than falling for someone within 2 episodes. It started by staying away from many cliches. I really enjoyed their chemistry and how they resolved misunderstandings. Then episode 23 happened and I was just like “REALLY?!?” It kind of fizzled for me episode 21 onwards. Decent watch though for the start of the drama and still a happy ending.

Oh, and I appreciate how they acknowledge the fact that ML is controlling and it’s actually addressed as one of his flaws to the point that he asks FL if it’s something she’s okay with putting up with.
There were parts that were fluffy and cute. I enjoyed the start and middle of their relationship. Towards the end and all the secondary couple stuff got me hitting that FF button. The last episode was meh and did we really need to throw in a childhood connection? That dog though. So adorable!!
Does she explain why she stole the FL's first manga/story? Does she get better or is she always going to be annoying…
She was actually tricked herself. Antagonist is someone else. Her character is annoying though and I couldn’t quite get a grip on her relationship and couldn’t get over how it felt like a rebound for SML. I skipped a lot of their ish.
I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t really feel the spark between the main leads. Dropped it somewhere in the middle. Maybe I’ll come back to it if I can’t find something else to watch.
I hesitated to start before all subbing was done. I should have waited. Stuck at ep 18 and I really, really want…
I feel you. I thought I could pace myself and not catch up before the last two episodes were subbed. Here I am, just finished episode 22 and now I am impatiently waiting for Thursday T-T
This drama was full of wins for the good guys and no angst is long lived. What is longggg lived is how annoying the FL is (not the actress but the character). We see the general grow and develop from cold hearted military man to a warm husband. FL is temperamental and acts childish all the way through. I honestly don’t know what good she brought to the relationship. She was never willing to compromise and had a fit anytime things didn’t go her way and would just give him the cold shoulder. Whereas ML always gave into all her silliness and even her stubbornness and willfulness. Even when the big back story is revealed at the end, she’s all, “you never told me” and all I could think was, “why? So you could hold him back some more and continue to not be helpful?” I say this from being married - I absolutely do not expect my husband to tell me EVERYTHING and respect his own life and understand there are times he doesn’t want to trouble me. I would never cry and suggest divorcing over it.
Like, really Ruo Ruo? (Ep. 8) Misery loves company that much? I know they’re trying to be cute but it’s just weird.
Also, the barrack shenanigans, all I can think is “this is so unprofessional. How is he a respected general? The soldiers must be judging him so hard.” The personality change was also way too sudden for me.
Their relationship was so boring. The whole who will end up sacrificing themselves got so old midway through. I forwarded through a lot of it. The best part of this drama was the relationship of other people, especially ML and his brother. The last episode I was annoyed with but then that last second twist made it awesome. I love a good foxy man ;)
That is incredibly believable though. Overcoming childhood self-defence mechanisms is hard, especially so if you…
I don’t recall the “self-defense” mechanism you are referring to (it’s been a while since I watched this) and I’m sure it may have been believable, but that makes it no less annoying to watch in a drama. ;)
This is a MUST watch. I usually don’t write reviews but I did for this drama. So sweet and mature love story without silly misunderstandings or jealousy. FL was amazing! ML is dreamy hubby material. Just watch it and you’ll be smiling!
Ugh. Rant over.
