Even Sima Jiao is brought to tears by the atrocity in this mountain. To cover their avarice, the Shi clan have decimated the nearby village and blamed it on Sima Jiao. He is unaware of this since Ruling silenced Nianju and Tingyan didn’t understand what was going on and just went to check on him. The bodies of the Fengshan line are clustered where the barrier killed them, in trying to save them, he inadvertently sentenced them all to death. He is resigned that he must die so they will be forced to end this blood currency. The leaders have assembled at the mountain thinking a crazed Sima Jiao has trashed the city for revenge. The insightful woman leader notes a devastated Sima Jiao with bodies of Fengshan clan en mass. Shi is trying to distract them from the real atrocity and I am hoping is unsuccessful. It ends with an impasse as all are waiting to see what Sima Jiao will do. I really want one more episode today….

This wretched brother. Had he seen He Yan tear the posts from the ground and slice in half he would just give up now. His servant…oh master does your hand hurt?😂🤣 His narcissism is infinite. He does have the He gene for audacity, but in his case looks petulant and ridiculous. He looked like a LARP trying to look tough in practice for a match.😝😂ok, I am almost done wheezing from laughter at him now. His petulance was off the chart breaking his family jade. This proves how little value he holds for honor and family. He is Xu’s living proof of guilt.😝 He damn well is. He sold his soul when he made a deal with the devil Xu. He licks the boots of his master not even understanding he’s going to fall with no mourning for his worship. The suppressed spirit soul temple still calls for him. I am hoping Chu’s guard isn’t killed for holding her ground against that petulant spoiled brat. Hopefully appeasing the daughter with more face time will help. But now that she sees your most valued painting, there is no telling what she will do. She and wretched brother are the perfect match, but what would they create? Sometimes best not to speculate.😝I loved the fight in the tavern. It reminded me of fight scene from The Musketeer movie. Fights were choreographed by Xiong XinXin. It was not appreciated in general, but the fight scenes were top notch and is one of my favorite movies. I loved how they sat there not even flinching as the swords came down. The woman was a surprise and that is the only reason she managed to draw blood. I am glad weapon wasn’t poisoned. Poor Feinu stuck with being mouthpiece for invite. Xiao Jue is shameless using this ruse to get his way. 🤣 It was a poignant scene for HeYan at the gate of the city where she was betrayed and left for dead. The one thing she has in common with her ‘brother’ is agreement only one would survive their next meeting. Xiao Jue’s sibling and wife do not quite know what to make of He Yan. They are puzzled at the care and proximity their reclusive brother is giving his friend. It was a poignant moment for him when kneeling before his parents’ memorial. He promises them justice and a future meeting with someone special. He Yan is looking for family gifts when she catches her would be assassins and sends them back with the message the debt will be paid in full. The weasel brother has an assassins’mini bow poised to shoot at her when episode ends…….😝🫣 til tomorrow’s episode.

Sima Jiao is many steps ahead of Shi leader that believes he is in charge of events. It is interesting to watch them maneuver and rearrange the players. Ruling is trying to be a good friend but her younger sister isn’t on board. Their family was divided when Sima clan set up immortal/demon boundary. Ruling wants another option than killing, but so far nothing has presented and the demon realm getting restless. When Tingyan meets her handler she treats him like an ex boyfriend. 😂 Sima Jiao is content with her responses and even smiles. Ms modern girl turned rogue demon assassin isn’t accepting the role she was forced to play. She has brought amusement to him that is real and not sarcasm. She lightens his mood and quells his bloodlust.I enjoyed the ‘filming’ of the events with the son’s killing. The dad saw exactly what happened and knows the Shi’s treachery and who really saved his son. He is now asked to hide his son indefinitely to continue on with Shi’s machinations and earn his trust. Everybody now wants Tingyan the influencer killed. She is sent an invitation to a festival and when Sima Jiao says not interested, requests to still go. He has no issue with her attendance. As she smiles at the thought of a party, he says the festival is for her and they want to kill her. End of episode😝Grandmaster having too much fun with this.

Sima Jiao is testing the regrouped leaders to see what his next move is. So far, he is most interested in Ruling who has not taken a side. She still wants to kill him even after getting the leader position of her sect. He rewards Tingyan’s master with 4 veins, but warns it will overload them once they reach a certain level. He is seeing what the others will do with this knowledge. Shi is angered that the one he had planned to plea for was killed before he could strike a bargain. He is still playing the long game but is seeing who will follow his lead and who won’t. Sima Jiao has placed an illusion spell so that the ones cultivated at higher levels will appear mad. I am not sure if this is a tale he told Tingyan or the truth. I am glad he repaid the nails.I am just sorry it killed him before the no self harm could take effect. These vampires deserve whatever happens to them. They have not been shaken by their evil intentions at all, and still have the temerity to blame Sima Jiao for all their ills and problems they face. 😝 Tingyan’s handler was not pleased she didn’t show up and activated the poison in her. She tries to get help and ends up in Sima Jiao’s healing pool. He rescues her and is puzzled that his blood isn’t curing her. He has added a petal and significantly upped her cultivation. What is funny when he truth tests her, she has all the pat no’s but adds not wanting to leave him.🥰 This makes him smile. His snake also revealed that he doesn’t like dealing with dead ones any more than Tingyan does. Tingyan had fun astral projecting and flying around exploring. Sima Jiao warns her that outside the palace others will sense her and it will be unsafe for her. I don’t know how they come up with this silliness, but the face masks and fruit teasing was adorable.🥰😂 It was playful with no meanness. I think Sima Jiao is benefiting from being allowed to be childlike and silly. He is well aware of what Tingyan is,(even tho she isn’t), but sees her having more upright character than the others. This drama is fun and the actors are doing a great job. Production team has the fantastical believable and the music is quite nice too. I am enjoying this drama and glad the comedy balances the dark of the 8 sects’ plotting. It is juxtaposed nicely. Kudos to all that worked on this project.👏🏻

What started off as a friendly excursion with two couples turned into something very different. A reunion with an old comrade revealed he broke a promise to his friend and to his wife. He swore he would help Xiao Jue redeem his father’s name with his connections. Then when the time came in court, not only did that not happen, but the magistrate he was hoping for help from was the first in line to file charges against his family, which was followed up by the general that was supposed to provide reinforcements. In the time separated, his friend married the courtesan he had written a love letter to. He was shunned by his father as a result of backing a traitor to then want to marry a courtesan. His intentions were honorable, but he lacked the fortitude to stand by his decisions confidently and moving forward with them. He became a drunkard, unhappy with the life he had given up, and unable to move forward with his wife on his own feet without regret. She was saddened but not so weak as to be second to the political path forsaken and divorced him. They remain at a standoff in the same place and now reunited with friends from the past. Words at the table ended up with a formal rebuke by He Yan candidly condemning him for disrespecting his wife and not seeing her from her heart to her eyes. He ultimately apologized to his wife and asks not for forgiveness but for him to be close to her. She did not accept, but I think she still holds hope he will grow into the man she saw him to be in her youth and retains some hope for their future. ‘If’ they have a future, it will be on her terms. Xiao Jue tells his comrade that he knew he couldn’t singlehandedly change the tide of what happened. He told him to not feel guilty and that he would find his own means to clear his father’s name. He Yan is very drunk and starts to confide in the courtesan. She then turns to the commander and says I hope you will not hate me as she passes out on his chest. The next morning she sends a letter to Xiao Jue asking to meet. He is interrupted by the courtesan who asks about the missing comrade who was a young girl. Xiao Jue put it together and greeted her as an assassin on the bridge. She reveals the technique specific to his father’s training and admits to it. He has cut the bridge portion to give him some distance to hear rather than react. She gives him her story, straightforwardly without guile. She admits to the delay, but I don’t know why. I do not think that was her doing, or something mitigating happened to make it unavoidable. He now knows both siblings claimed the name of the betraying general. He just needs to learn which one it really is. He has decided to have her remain in garrison until the truth is learned. That was truly the best course for both of them. She lovingly and regretfully packs the treasures he bought for her and leaves them, returning back to her old squad where she trains incessantly refusing to talk or stop. As the commander passes, his only acknowledgement is for training to continue. Neither will stop their quest for the truth, and both are equally determined to figure it out no matter the cost. This is so heartbreaking for both of them. This is exactly where they were at the beginning of the story. Their fates are still intertwined but it is now uncomfortable and awkward. He cannot let loose his resentment, and she knows, as the general, the buck stopped with her. She wants to clear her name as much as he does his. This commonality forces them in the same direction tho no longer united.

The players are dancing around getting the ledgers. Xiao Jue the tax ledgers and disciple Chu for the books proving official fraud. The less fingered guard kept testing He Yan’s blindness and she let him think he tripped her. He slips a poison ball for her scented one and vacates. She takes a tumble in the pond with Xiao Jue to make it useless. It is suspicious enough that more specific plans to take out Cheng has been put in place. Both Xiao Jue and He Yan are dressed in black and thanks to a cat have to scramble. There is an impromptu hiding in the tub which leaves He Yan submerged. 😂🧐🫣 she finally has her turn with less fingered guy and they end up in the temple for suppressed souls. It was a satisfying battle and he got what he deserved. Xiao Jue heard what she said to him and wanted the truth. She gave him partial truth, but he knows her too well to believe it’s the complete story. He won’t make her part of elite troops unless she fesses up. He reveals that he knows she’s a woman and wants an explanation. She counters with pretending to be his girlfriend and describes the location of a mole.😂 As they continue this discussion his aide comes in and tells them he has found something in the temple while getting rid of the body from He Yan’s fight and the commander needs to see. They find the missing daughters lined up in a row in the temple. He Yan’s grip on the umbrella reveals how she wants to handle things. The episode ends here. That lecherous Sun better find his way buried in there soon.🤬

He Yan is very unhappy not chosen for elite squad. After drinking courage she shows up in Xiao Jue’s quarters demanding explanation. He tolerates this because she comes very close to revealing her real intentions, but stops just shy of any revelations. She grabs her old sword and offers to dance for him to show her technique. He does a nice dance of avoidance and she ends up slicing his table and zither in two. She wakes up to find out she slept in his tent all night while the commander made Cheng make space for him. The Yuzhou magistrate has sent an official invite to discuss his unreasonable army supply demands and have included Cheng in the invite. It is decided that He Yan will replace Cheng on this trip. She wants to prove her worth to be selected and she noted the man with missing finger that harmed her at the temple. She has deduced the he thinks Lei Hou a spy and that is why he was selected. Upon arriving she places a massive order at the inn and Xiao Jue accommodates and buys her all of it. He then let her know that she would eat it all and waste nothing. I wished they would have shown her attempting this but they skip to them being in the room. The disciple already is aware of Sun’s lecherous son and plans to use that as stepping stone to get his promotion. Xiao Jue sends his subordinate to do more recon and says he will watch He Yan personally. They both see that she has snuck out of the room and wait to see where she’s headed. They all know it’s a trap but accept that it is better to be offense than defense so they go to see how things play out.

Jin Yu’s mom thought she had things covered to undermine the project, publicly say her son was mentally incompetent, and give the project to Lin group. Ye Meng comes in like an avenging angel and sets her straight. She admits publicly she is married and Zhou Yu comes through proving the materials were changed to frame Jin Yu. Funny how the guy causing the most disruption was the guy responsible for materials swap. Gma finished the job by exposing the abuse Jin Yu received as a child. Even his therapist came thru saying he was just fine and no mental illness to inhibit working. Lin saw the truth of the matter and threw the project back at her. The only one I was concerned about was Gma collapsing from all that emotional effort. Her love for grandson shone through brilliantly. This is the first time I saw the leads as a real couple with united front. Her concern picking him up from jail and their casual chatting. Nice to not have half truths and misunderstandings in the way. Kai is so damn cute in that wolf costume. Jia Yu was supposed to have the wolf part and Kai intervened. They should not have given that role to a student. This was first time YaEn sees Kai as he saw her. Some commenting don’t understand how his interest shifted to her. They were always meant for her, that name tag told him wrong. She was always his angel. Changing his bar to a restaurant so they could sit together as family at his work place. He is a good man tho still rough around the edges. Jia Yu will teach him well😂 Zhou Yu reveals their is a childhood connection with Bei and her mom. Fat Buddha has a flash drive from ring seller and sells to Ye Meng. Not sure if guy was killed or just tortured. But there were 3 flash drives. Two empty, one not. Ye Meng is getting ready to listen to the real flash drive. She has both Li’s out of the loop. Couldn’t let one day of true couple go without half truths or lies. The writer makes the leads too foolish and loads them with too much drama. There was no need to separate them. He needed answers about his mom as much as she did. This should have been done together. I don’t know how can make Kai and Ya En so sweet and do so badly with main leads. 😝

Gma decides to go for the surgery and her family isn’t happy about her choice. Jin Yu stands by her decision. His mom visited. They had words and she reminds gma who her real grandson is and how her son died. Gma angrily tossed her out of the room. What was surprising was the fact that stone cold hateful mother had true affection for her. She wants her mother in law to have that affection for her grandson by blood. There is true sadness that Gma envelops the son she hates and ignores the son she loves. We get more backstory in this episode. Jin Yu has so much guilt that he was driving and that stepdad died saving him. His mother never let him forget he killed her husband and made his life hell at every opportunity. He had given up and was trying to take his life when that little old woman literally dragged him out of the pool and saved him. She took him to her home where he was quiet and distrustful. He found her packing his clothes so he left. She chased him down and clobbered him. She had a house built for him so he would know he always had a home. 😭🥰 They have been inseparable ever since. He cares for her like a son and she loves him like a son. She decides before surgery she wants to eat the food of her childhood and takes Ye Meng and Jin Yu to her childhood home. They spend a lot of time picking tea leaves and she cooks her favorite childhood foods. Jin Yu is most honest saying he could cook her a better meal, but the women declare it a feast. Later, both of them on phone looking for takeout😂Jin Yu cooks for them and leaves them to their late night snacking.😂 There is a poignant scene where he comes across his gma’s diary and reads it. She is wanting to live long enough to see them married. It records her time with him good and bad and is a declaration of love. So…he decides to fulfill her wish and have a wedding for Ye Meng. She pretends to be annoyed he read her diary and agrees to keep Ye Meng occupied while he gets everything ready. She comes home to find family and friends gathered in a beautifully arranged wedding venue. What is remarkable are the Gma’s hovering over Ye Meng’s baby pictures and her gma promising to fill her a book of them together. They are chatting over makeup and acting like best friends. The wall between their homes will be torn down and one happy family residence. This episode, the leads feel like a couple, enveloping their family and being enveloped by them. Accepting each other for who they are rather than who they wished they were. It is a slice of life where the unconditional love of family shines through. For all my unhappiness with how writer has written the leads’ roles, this time, they did it right, and it was beautifully done. Thank you ❤️

Things start to get ugly when jerky boy is dissuaded by a woman beside him. He pretends to acquiesce and heads out. The young merchant invites Han Li to go with her to watch trials. It is a free for all where spheres show what roots, if any, are existent. Three or less are passing and four or more are not. One catches the sphere and has the right number of roots but is rejected. The GrandMaster tells him he knows what he did. There is a dark story here. Wan catches one and finds he has four and rejected. He throws the sphere to Han Li and jerky boy steals it. He passes and goes to yellow maple. He gives the sphere to the woman who made him behave and she too passes and heads for yellow maple. He tells her Han Li can have it now. Han Li is so hopeful because he has worked very hard. He finds out he has four. He is really stunned by this assessment. This is a harsh blow to be disqualified before even given a chance to try. He heads out with his friend and finds himself with Rogue cultivators combining their items arsenal so that they have a better chance of winning. Han Li wants no part, but it’s clear he doesn’t have a choice. He gives them a pill and leaves. His friend follows him and Han Li is a bit annoyed because he wants no part of this group. He is relieved when that was not the objective. The Azure Vein Society is the group’s name and it turns out they put on the facade of a friendly group but their real intention is to steal their artifacts and frame nobles for doing it. There are plans to arrest them once tournament is over and before seal is released. At the tournament it comes down to jerky boy and rogue leader. The rogue leader made a good showing but unfortunately, jerky boy won. I smirked when GrandMaster planted him on his ass for trying to cause real harm after forfeit was stated. He wanted to pretend he didn’t see it. He gloats towards Han Li. Grandmaster is returning look at Han Li from his original stare earlier. He quickly turns his back on her.😂He watched the tournament carefully. He noted the items that really were essential for defense and cultivating and made himself a shopping list of sorts for later. I like that he collects every book he can get his hands on. He knows he lacks education and he studies at every opportunity. He now has the tools to make talismans and he has helped merchant girl get meds for her sick brother. He sympathizes and does not take advantage. He meets up with Wan and asks him about talisman. He has Wan read through the page and tell him what it says. He recognizes the yellow maple leaf pattern and realizes what he has. He is smart enough to destroy the page so that nobody will recognize the talisman if they get it from him. I don’t think he should have shared any discovery with Wan. Only because his friend blabs to everyone everything he knows or discovers. He is not in the least prudent of keeping personal and important info to himself. Turns out jerky boy thinks he is all that because he has a hybrid root. Too bad such a gift is wasted on such an amoral ass. So what’s the first thing blabbermouth does? He goes back to rogue group and reports about ascension talismans😝 Here, Han Li deserves a hit because he knows this guy can’t keep anything to himself. The bad part is he was trying to warn him of the group’s bad intentions and steer him clear of them. But he was too kind hearted and embracing of everyone to heed the warning. This cost him his life. The fight scenes are choreographed nicely and it is very like a video game being played. That leader took out his top two so that no competition would exist for talisman. They battle it out and HanLi won until a dark force interfered. Creepy one and dark one. Fortunately GrandMaster felt the dark aura. This drama is very entertaining. It does have a gamer vibe, so if a genre you like, this will be a good watch.

The first portion of episode was a very sweet interlude with Caihuan. 🥰 She finds where the golem took Han Li and brings her treasure, the sunwarm jade. It was her dowry. What I am wondering is if the crafty doc Mo had visions of these two? She gives him the jade but he is too far gone with the poison and collapses. She comes into the room and assists with the healing process. I like that she shows such respect in treating him. She covers him up and only bares what is required to treat him. She really does seem to have her father’s gift of medicine. When he wakes up, they both note the jade absorbed the silver demon poisoning from him and he is truly cured. She even offers him the stone, her simple request was to go with him. He sees how sweet she is and how much of a treasure she is, but he also knows she cannot accompany him on the immortal path any more than her father could stay with his family. He doesn’t wish to cause her more pain, but I am sure he will see this as the one one he wished he could have stayed with. He leaves his golem with her as family protector and wishes her well. He then heads to Tainan Valley where he runs into a very chatty new friend. There is a brief scene where we learn the moon shadow sect is in charge of the Immortal Ascension Trials this year. Han Li’s new friend Wan takes him to the bazaar and introduces him to various artifacts and items that help with defense and cultivating. The Grandmaster is keeping an eye on things because rogue cultivators have been disappearing. Her colleagues discovered a Yan sect crest at the scene of a murder. The Grandmaster is trying to keep this under wraps due to the trials coming up but she is putting more security in place to monitor things. A member of the Yan clan is here for the trials and an incident with the guards has her meeting with the GrandMaster. She claims they were framed but is a bit less cocky when tested for truth telling. There is then a candid chat between the two that some entity is trying to sow discord amongst the seven sects. An incident at the bazaar introduces Han Li and new friend to a group of rogue cultivators. Han Li knows instinctively they are trouble, but his chatty friend has dropped his name to them. They are given a lesson about fake roots and true roots. There is a girl selling a cloth that makes things invisible. A rich jerk is trying to cheat her and Han Li intervenes. He takes his purchase and leaves but the rich guy isn’t done “bargaining”. So far, Han Li has learned that the real commerce most coveted are pills. This is where his training with doc Mo will come in very handy. Now to see how rich jerk is dealt with. I am most annoyed that his peers help him cheat a poor merchant. It does not say much for their characters.😝

He arrives in the city and finds the Mo residence. There are three daughters and 5 wives and a granny. Somewhere they lost a wife because when he counted them coming there were six. There are three daughters and the only one worth mentioning is Caihuan. She is the true treasure of the Mo family. If our hero was remaining mortal…She would be a perfect match for him. She also needs away from these scheming loud women. Volume aside, they bargain to get rid of the worst villains in the city which Han Li does in record time. They were not expecting someone that dealt honestly and forthrightly. Their main plan is to wear him down by the poison taking over. They hope to trap him there indefinitely. Caihuan is the sweetest and smartest. Her request for a recipe resulted in her receiving her father’s journal with Han Li ‘s additional notes. To her, this was a priceless treasure and the legacy of her father. A sad moment is when Han Li discover his golem Qu Hun stayed at the restaurant because he was never ordered to leave. He brings him as backup and tells the women he’s done bargaining. The cacophony of their shrieks is silenced when he shows them fire. Then the claws come out. He ends up collapsing and stunned that Caihuan can speak. After hearing and seeing how these women plot and plan, it is no wonder physician Mo spent his time sending gems than visiting.😝The one moment that made me smile in spite of their noise, was the granny moving the golem to let them bring dowries in, and then pulling him back to guard the door. I like her best of the older women. Hopefully she and Caihuan can live somewhere minus the rest of them in future.

The time had come for mentor/nemesis and disciple to settle the score. The double qi in that worn out body had little time left and both greedy buggers wanted Han Li. Literally. When the doc first got the knives out Han Li cringed and waited, not expecting the doc to stab himself. He was expecting the six ghost curse to take care of Han Li in the plane of his consciousness. However, level 6 Han Li kicked his butt😝 when doc Mo realized it was over, he actually gave tips on what he needed to do to get rid of immortal entity looking for new host. He told him what had happened to his friend and Han Li gave a shout of grief for him. He loaded up supplies and after taking the silver antidote started to head out to get the sunwarm jade he needed for a cure. He heard 81 drumbeats and headed to war between wild wolves gang and seven mysteries sect instead. After battle challenge, to avoid mutual destruction, it was decided a battle to the death would determine winner. What the sect didn’t anticipate was a cultivator. What Han Li noted was he was lower level. Han Li made short work of him and found a talisman as his reward. The sect leader was grateful, but suspicious of one he could not control. Han Li put him at ease and asked for Li Feiyu to be made a disciple and leader. Additionally, his friend would be able to marry the girl of his choice with no prejudice to his rank and income. And finally the uncle that assisted him would be taken care of. He then handed the sect leader an essence pill and left. He finished packing a second time, read the letter from Mo and headed to Mo’s house for jade cure. This time he is really leaving Shenshou. He left huge bags of meds for his friend and hope they will meet again. He gives the golem a new name because it is not his friend. His friend is gone, but together their journey really begins.

Everybody is running with the premise the Empress had the bodyguard murdered and buried. She freed him and then he was murdered. Who killed him? And why was his body moved? The suicide in the well. Was he forced to confess and then jump in or was it truly suicide? This all fits together too neatly. The empress actually looks prettier with less gild. She was telling her son about his father but he is still not understanding what she is saying. All the Princes are officially married now. Happy to see Shuang and Lt get married. She is probably the only Qin gal to live happily. Xiang has already miscarried thanks to Feng consort. Not only did she cause her to lose the baby, she then denied her medical care. So I had to smirk when she learned she fought so hard to marry the guy that killed her brother. The crown prince and Yu had an understated wedding because of the charges against empress. They actually seem to be a decent couple. Yu and dowager are trying to get him sent away so that he can’t be killed by Cheng. Cheng has a joker grin on his face as he slaps the documents down lining up the charges for empress. What a bit of fortune that he just happened to be in charge of it all. At least got a chuckle when he ran out wretching from the autopsy.😝 Wan and Chi are finally married. They each share special thoughts and gifts as an official couple. They are blissfully ignorant of the crown prince deposing and will have a few hours of calm before storm. The consort is having a grand ol’ time mocking the empress over her son being demoted to second prince. While it is good training to be a prince, Chi knows how unsuited he is for this and tells Wan so. Ning makes cute pinky swear with Li that he is her one and only and then runs to the side of the pseudo blind prince. He has mother on ice seeking justice, but damn, is as creepy as senior doc.😝There is a maelstrom of political chaos brewing for a perfect storm. Everybody is going to feel this one.

The story begins with a family running to dock. They are being chased by guards and the parents sacrifice themselves so their daughter can escape. Her father has left her a note to not return to the capital. She of course, is determined to head back and clear her family’s name. The friend helping them was also killed and his daughter had died. Since his family didn’t know about her death and hadn’t really seen her, Shen Wan assumes her identity to get back to the capital and find evidence about what happened. Her father is accused of colluding with Prince Jin to kill consort Jin and his family ordered to be executed. While the friend was a good man and obviously loved Shen Wan like a daughter, his family, not so much. His last act of protection was to have his daughter’s servant be her companion. When they arrive, the family is less than pleased to meet her. The gals seem vain and status climbers while the son was more interested in his crickets. There is one kinder granddaughter that tries to soften the punishments and the grandson seems intelligent. But it is clear none of them want their cousin there. After being literally locked in for a long time Qin Wan is allowed out. While wandering around market she sees an older woman collapsed and with the absence of doctor around she assists with follow-up treatment and script. She then goes on her way. Later she and family find out they have assisted the princess. The granddaughter shows up wanting to thank the person who helped her grandmother. I like how she comes out ‘as is’ refusing to put on an appearance for their guest. She finds herself invited to follow up her treatment with Princess and her family is left at home where they belong. En route there is a fight in the street and it is handled by a visiting soldier. Turns out he is related to the princess and they all end up meeting. The women in this household are martial artists so coming home is like Green Hornet /Kato scene with skills being tested. 😂 Shen Wan is not quite sure what she thinks of this group but their meeting definitely improves her living situation. Her ‘family’ is now invested in buttering her up so that they can be included meeting the royals. The servant is very happy but Shen Wan reminds her that this isn’t her home or inheritance just a steppingstone to find out the truth about her parents. She is invited by the princess to attend a wedding and is introduced to her first case. A headless bride arrives to the scene.
