An odd antique dealer shows up at Yashe. He is supposed to bring items to shop but that hasn’t been shown yet. I’m betting he knows something about the travel chair and trying to find a way in at the shop. It is fun at the market with the tongue twister name of bubble tea. It was funnier when her guard wanted to keep testing for toxins.🤣 BiZhi gets location for mermaid candle and is taken aback at the condition of location. The village is ravaged and all are begging in the streets. The officials are corrupt and do not care if the food is distributed fairly or in good condition. A little girl is in the background and comes back to her home and lights a blue camera with mermaid on it. She is surprised when she gets up that the candle has not burned down any and happy to use again. Her food is stolen and she is pushed aside. Her hands are bleeding and her basket is broken. As she weeps by the candle she sees a visitor on her bed. She declares herself a mermaid and replaces the food she lost. The mermaid promises to stay with her as long as the candle is lit. The mermaid takes care of her for years and she is old enough to work and the town has recovered. BiZhi’s coordinates land him at a brothel and he tells them BeiLu is paying. 🤣😂 It is funnier that he remains the most sober with the drinking game. 😂 They learn that the Chan they are looking for delivers the laundry and had already left for the day. It was later at night and an official that had harassed her at work had more plans for her in the alley. She bit his hand and ran away. Fortunately a handsome noble came to the rescue and the disgusting official stayed groveling at his feet while Chan ran home. She was greeted by the mermaid who was worried about her and had come looking. This night, she was taught how to defend herself with a dagger. This is probably the Kun blade BiZhi is looking for. After seeing her assault, I was glad she was getting a lesson in self defense. After the lesson, the mermaid gave her the blade. The next day the official was found dead. Chan saw her bite marks on his hand. She runs into the nobleman at work and offers a sachet as a thank you. He buys one and returns it to her as an invite to his poetry group. He is definitely interested and so is she. ☺️ The mermaid has the hairpin a seller tried to get Chan to buy. It has blood on the tip and it’s quite likely she killed the official. Can’t feel sorry for the guy but hope the evidence doesn’t point to Chan.

BiZhi and BeiLu attend Lu Feng’s exhibit. Bei Zhi buys three pieces to get his attention. He asks for the Wu blade and Lu Feng is interested because he wants his work to be displayed in the Rainbow Manor. BeiLu is just starting to figure out that the great gpa in picture is BiZhi. 🤣 BeiLu invited himself to the exhibit but BiZhi had to dress him. 🤣 I am wondering if he kept the tags on to return later since he asked about return policy in the way out. Lu Feng paid the paparazzi to take pics of him at dinner and get a buzz going before exhibition. I am thinking when he refused to make a relationship with Nina public she is the one that released this info to the public. It went viral right after she stomped out and it was a bit too coincidental in timing. Lu Feng looked through all his tools and came across the knife. He didn’t even value it but threw it in as a freebie with BiZhi’s other purchases. BeiLu gave him a piece of his mind on the way out the door. He was disgusted with the lack of value Lu Feng gave Lan’s gift to him. He was angry that the sincere artist he met at the market was this publicity seeking womanizer before him. What was news to the artist is that his memory of the market started to return once he reacquainted himself with the gifted blade. It is one of a pair and BiZhi needs to find its mate before he can neutralize the energy on it. Lu Feng is rushed to the hospital with a perforated stomach. Once he recalls his market adventure, he gives away his wealth and goes back to creating. Maybe he will finally make something truly wonderful. At the market he was a very good handyman fixing things. That seems to be his real talent. BiZhi is tempted to investigate BeiLu’s past and has the means to do it. For now he set it aside because I don’t think he wants confirmation that BeiLu is not ZiYi.

BiZhi is trying to determine if BeiLu is ZiYi. He visits BeiLu’s vet clinic and apartment. BeiLu is having financial difficulties so cousin BiZhi pays rent. He takes BeiLu to a time rift market to ask the Lord of the market if BeiLu had ever been there. She could neither confirm or deny the possibility of BeiLu being ZiYi, but she could confirm he’d never been at her market. BeiLu has an adventure by getting kidnapped by two lovers from different eras that didn’t want to be separated. There was no way for either to sacrifice their place in time so they just promised to live each moment as their last. Turns out Lu Feng has no memory of the place and has to send out miss you messages in a multi chat. His influencer date wasn’t fooled and left. He is wanting her presence at his exhibition to have increased visibility. What was interesting is that the Lord of the market was familiar with his name but not his appearance. She serves as the item location finder for BiZhi and they bargain for coordinate locations. Unlike others that accidentally find the market and have to remain til their time era opens, BiZhi and BeiLu can come and go plus retain memories of their time spent there. This is a unique feature of travel via Yashe shop. BeiLu has not passed his vet test or become licensed in three years. There seems to be a very real lack of motivation with no given reason. BiZhi takes BeiLu to a five star location where I am surprised a dress code wasn’t enforced. BeiLu eats like a starving college student at a pub. I don’t think BiZhi will go so highbrow next time. Maybe this was another ZiYi test because of all the manners forced upon him by his family. It was interesting how quickly BeiLu recognized how boring BiZhi’s life is in the future. That was very quick insight. This episode focused on new characters and locations with BiZhi taking notes indicating it is less and less likely that BeiLu is his friend. He hasn’t given up hope but he is probably now deciding if he wants a look alike to keep him company if he can definitely prove one way or the other if ZiYi or no. Does he consider them friends if not ZiYi?

This drama does emotional scenes beautifully ❤️ we get some background when Cpt Li met Ms He via the mirror. They rescued each other and shared sweet moments. While an anomaly that shouldn’t exist, their love story was very sweet and heartfelt. 🥰❤️ There is also some history when BiZhi met ZiYi and how their friendship started. They were successful in retrieving the mirror this time and it was added to the collection. I am not sure how much longer Ms He lived but they were shown holding hands with Gen Li as he passed. Wherever they are, they’re together😄 BeiLu was given credit for the idea and has been granted more visits to the shop. The cast and production team are doing an excellent job drawing you in to the individual stories of the collection as well as gaining clues about BeiZhi and BeiLu. Loved all the beautiful sentiment in this episode.

BiZhi decides to let BeiLu accompany him against his better judgment. Since the location is the same time frame ZiYi lived there, BiZhi hopes it will stir memories. BeiLu seems to have been written as comic relief. I have mixed feelings with this approach. He constantly disrupts things without thought of the consequences. The fish mirror is discovered to be the heart guard of a young general. He found it on the battlefield and conversed with a distraught woman on the other side. They did a sort of ancient FaceTime and chatted with each other that way. The last battle scene with the young general was very well done. Because BeiLu tried to save him, the general died going over a cliff and the mirror could not be retrieved. He did suggest finding the girl and I am not annoyed he tried to save her. However this still means they cannot get the mirror yet. I think BeiLu’s character is smart, but he does act impulsively and does not worry about consequences til they literally tie him up to get him out of the way. I can see why some commenters are unhappy with his character. The ZiYi at the beginning seemed like a serious scholar so I am hoping the writers have included a growing phase for a more mature side of BeiLu to present during the drama. As childish as his impulsive nature looks, it was also this characteristic that had him help BiZhi even when he thought BiZhi was a complete nutcase. I am still enjoying the story and waiting to see what happens next.

This drama is interesting. BiZhi is coming with testimony to prove his friend’s innocence and does not make it back in time. ZiYi believes all is lost and his place is set ablaze to finish things. BiZhi has the ability to visit different times like Dr Who, but because he has tried to save his friend repeatedly with nothing changing, the artifacts his friend collected now has a bad cosmic energy that wreaks havoc wherever they end up. So now his mission is to collect these relics and remove the negative energy…like Warehouse 13. He retrieves a sword after an impromptu sword fight with the owner who inadvertently activated it. The fight was well done and he managed to knock out the owner and retrieve the sword. The owner was left to wonder about the table etc cut in half.🤣 BiZhi is lamenting his friend and tries to find golden liquor in a local bar that advertised it. After testing all their golden drinks he is a drunken mess outside and a stranger offers assistance. This stranger looks and acts like his friend in modern times and he is convinced that it is him. The veterinarian thinks the poor guy is addled but tries to help him anyways. BiZhi spent the night skipping through time trying to get BeiLu to remember with no luck. He finally gives up and is off to recover a mirror in ancient times to discover that the doc and his turtle have traveled back with him. They are both quite surprised. Very interesting start to the drama and quite fun to watch.

The Triple Echo of Time Episode 24

This drama delivered a well paced and well told story. The only exception for me was the crazy gal working at the time bureau that changed from wannabe assassin girl Friday to sorry didn’t mean it so please believe I’m sorry wanna help you gal.I was surprised that the 40’s Xun character was so selfish and manipulative. I spent a good part of the drama not really liking him. I was in agreement with him about the gpa bias against him because that did cause preventable conflict to a grating level at times. The cast did a wonderful job with their characters and they all left distinct impressions whether you liked them or not. The twist at the end as Dr. Yu let Xun see the burden placed on Zhao Zuo You causing him to not participate in his own life because he felt it all predetermined and he couldn’t defeat time. Xun finally won me over when nursing Gpa and accepting the day to day dealing with life as it is, not how he could manipulate and control things. We got to see how their biases blinded them to things and their change of perspective when the blinders removed. The sweet love story of the teens, the harsh conflict of 40’s wanting divorced, and the lament of the gpa wanting to save the wife he lost. The exploration of friendships and how true are they when it hits the fan and times are hard. How much do we really value friends and family when they force us to live up to their ideals and expectations? Do we bow and submit or stand up for ourselves when challenged by parents and teachers to do better but as they want to direct rather than trust you to choose for yourself? The act of bravery at the end by stopping the video and TuTu keeping her name makes us wonder if this was the correction program correcting itself? It lets us wonder how much say we have in the direction of our life’s choices—do we decide or is it preplanned? What degree does free will govern us? This was a thoughtful drama that gave slices of life views at different key points in time of personal development —youthful first dreams, midlife disappointment in career and relationship choices, aged success and regret. All of us deal with this to different degrees and this let us ponder what if my older self could direct my younger self in a better direction? And the real answer turned out to be that the younger version tended to be the reminder of what’s really important and was as good of a teacher as pupil. That we experience life best by trying to be our better selves and taking it a day at a time. The cast and production team did an excellent job of letting us see and appreciate the different stages of Zhao Zuo You’s life and what influences helped him progress or held him back. To see what degree he had a say in his choices and the people he kept in his life. And dealing with the capriciousness of life that provides both hope and despair. It thoughtfully brings things full circle and left us with hope for a bright future in spite of the odds.

This is the last episode and I found the cast exceptionally skilled at making their characters relatable and believable. I also enjoyed the music. This was a fun drama to watch for the most part and even with its flaws I would recommend it. In this episode we see Xiao Yu at airport telling everyone goodbye. She has found her calling and will be the video liaison between lawyers and the people spreading understanding to the masses. When they kept showing the meds taken by father and ex boyfriend, I was expecting a case about side effects that would compensate both families. Not sure why they made a point to show the same medication when wasn’t used for anything. Yan Fei and Zhou letting fate determine their romance destination.😂 Jiang and Ren agree to go to the end non stop in their competition. They do not reveal the winner even with a year later epilogue showing Yue’s application for competition. They should have included Wang and both our fave lawyers getting ready to be mentors. Overall I really enjoyed this drama and felt invested in liking…or not.. the various competitors. It was a bit exaggerated slices of life for them but it held my interest for the most part. I am not sure if they are considering a season 2, but if with same cast I will peek in to see how their story progressed. Yue was not my favorite person. They went out of their way to make her unlikable and then flipped her to a decent character with no real repercussions for her misdeeds. If season 2 focuses around her, I don’t know how much interest I will have with that. I would have been far more content with ending without that year later flash that showed nobody but the least liked character. With this, I can only ask why?

Love on the Turquoise Land Episode 29

This episode had the biggest battle yet between hunters and earth fiends. Luo was given a similar vibe as River in Serenity movie. She definitely went beserk and did a lot of damage. For as intense as this battle was it didn’t have that big of an emotional impact on me because I really don’t care about most of these characters. It had the makings of a good story but it wasn’t fleshed out enough to really feel engaged with a lot of the cast. It was interesting having Luo’s mom there, but her finishing off Lin XiRou and Luo making a rookie mistake with sword while Yan Tuo was not able to provide backup with a decent weapon, greatly diminished the viewers’ satisfaction at the ending of a major villain. The mom has taken Luo to parts unknown and Yan Tuo wakes up by the doc after being in a coma. The hunters have made memorials for the lost hunters but their weapons and capabilities were so mismatched with the earth fiends that it simply made me wonder what happened to their training and why weren’t they more innovative with long range weaponry. It’s truly a wonder any of them survived because Luo was the only one making serious damage and she ended up stabbing XiRou rather than pithing her from an aerial attack. We are given more of the doc’s back story and why he assisted both sides. This should have been the earth shattering battle of the ages between these two groups and it really was more meh than good job kicking ass. There was a lot of buildup but that turned out to be better than the actual confrontation.

Loved the battles in last two episodes. Changhe was spot on with his response— I will follow Muyu’s lead when he regains consciousness. If he doesn’t, both princes will die. Muyu was colder than Changhe when he thought Doc Bai was dead. I didn’t quite expect that even tho it was a reasonable response to his love’s death. I liked seeing the bonded brothers ride off in the sunset having both fixed and caused chaos behind them. The Prince of Langya had hoped for a different option than first Prince getting killed, but Muyu made it far quicker than what the Prince had done for others. He deserved to die instead of prison. In this I agree with Blood River. Even alliances with Langya Prince they would have had to deal with Tianqi politics.😝 That is now heading for its own turmoil and Blood River wants no part in it. I understand why the subterfuge with Doc Bai, but that did cause a different course for Muyu. I am glad they showed them meeting after 12 years wher I am assuming she is both healed and ready to be king of medicine with new martial arts skills taught and learned. The carved rabbit from Lianyue to Rabbit was very sweet. The various battles with nobles and imperial politicians made clear to these two that they needed to handle their responsibilities and for now that put them on opposite sides. I would have like to see a reunion with these two as well to give a clue of Tianqi politics after a decade. They gave such a sweet long burn with these two that a resolution would have been nice to see. The hint of a wedding on a certain pavilion maybe. I was disappointed that old geezer eunuch is probably barely alive somewhere because they would not commit to him being dead. 😝I am hoping for a season two with the actual happening of the other side life. I can say this is well worth the watch with no watching of peripheral stories. The music is great and the cast and production team did an excellent job of making us care about or totally despise the characters. Since all episodes released, I suggest favorite snacks and comfortable seating to binge at will.

Both sides are prepped for their heaviest battles prior to Imperial Assembly. All the battles were well choreographed but the best one for me is the one with that old geezer eunuch. Those gpa’s from Wuan tower should have been finished off from the beginning for all the trouble they caused. They deserved the fate the eunuch gave them. Changhe proved his truest loyalty when he came back to help MuYu with geezer eunuch. That old man was a leech to life in every way possible. He even had the audacity to approve their sword strikes as they sent them. Changhe’s devil palm came in handy to disrupt the battle but it resulted in a link of power draining that Changhe could not break free of. Muyu returned the favor by bringing out devil sword and making himself a willing sacrifice to free Blood River from their bondage as assassin blades. Right when he was ready to go full demon, Doc Bai arrives to cancel the effects with one of her wonder bottles. Of course right when everything seemed to calm down for a win, the puppet poison flared up in Doc Bai with no cure available. Muyu has got her to the door of medicine king healer but they are passed out in the stairs. Unfortunately night crow has a pretty good bead on Doc Bai’s condition because of the cures made. Since she used her blood to make the antidote, the cure would not work on her. She is wanting Muyu to kill her but everybody is hoping the king of medicine can cure her. Ya gotta smirk when Night Crow is surprised at how strong Lianyue was. She had no clue the abilities she was up against on the other side. I can only cheer that first princes heaviest hitters are out or down for the count with time needed to recuperate. Our guys are in similar shape, but for the sheer numbers they were up against, they did a damn good job of holding their own.

Changhe has left Tianqi. He still acknowledges that for now they are still assassin blades fighting as their boss dectermines. He has his subordinate think it’s to gain highest profits. But whatever his real game, he will not be there for the battles taking place tonight. The nobles’ sons have been given the antidote but it seems they must also take out whoever gave them the poison dose or kill them. Night Crow co tinges to be an annoying pain the arse. What I am a bit baffled by is why no one is going after the damn bell that orders the puppets. It seems that would be a useful deterrent in shutting her up. Doc Bai was smart enough to not go along and leave everything to LianYue and Rabbit. Her spiders managed to give golden puppet the antidote and the final battle of mentor/disciple took place with LianYue being ordered to kill his mentor. Night Crow is not happy her star puppet is destroyed, but she is not in the least deterred to continue the battle. Her next three in line are lined up to continue. Rabbit looks to have taken a fatal blow and LianYue proves phoenixes exist in their world. This reminded me of another fight where the sr brother used his best move to end things with an enemy. These battles were well done. The emperor has summoned the Prince of Langya and while he sleeps the Prince knows he has been poisoned again. Both of these eunuchs get on my nerves with their schemes. The search is still on for the final dragon scroll and I wish they knew old geezer eunuch has it. There seems to be equal losses on both sides but the stakes are very high in this city and the cost quite high. This episode brought back the Lianyue from earlier episodes. He has proven himself to his mentor and his love along with himself. He finally accepts the role he has to play and demonstrates his real skills.

Changhe has left seclusion and isn’t happy with how first prince and eunuch are running things. Uncle Zhe successfully transferred his energy, but that meant both incapacitated when first prince called for strikes against their hideouts. Leader Mu and XueWei stayed behind and fought flawlessly, but they were too few against the obstacles. It looked like leader Mu died after sweet words with his love, but their bodies have not been found. Whether they are burned, hidden or kidnapped, we really don’t know. This has MuYu ready to take the battle directly to the city. The Prince of Langya knows the odds are against him, but he still hopes to find the dragon scroll in time. The emperor notes first prince’s developments and hopes to save him. First prince uses a truth snake to determine Changhe’s loyalty. It is clear he has no plans to kill MuYu but he has not changed his allegiance to them. Muyu is now aware Changhe has made his own plans. Rabbit and Lianyue were making progress with the nobles’ sons but arrow guy killed the ringleader. LianYue caught the arrow but neither could get to the snake assassin in time. They are now all aware the Blood River is divided between the two prince’s and a showdown is coming as the powers that be want to have their choice on scroll as successor. The one thing worth noting is arrow guy was not impressed with the callous attitude of first Prince having his people killed. He fully thinks their job is to keep his head attached at the price of their own. I want to pity him because of his situation, but he and eunuch are so distasteful and I don’t see either as redeemable yet.

The battle is halted and both sides part ways for now. LianYue is chastised by Prince of Longya for not identifying all the young men effected by puppet poison. The Prince does seem to be getting his affairs in order and giving final plans and wishes to those around him. Uncle Zhe has arrived and he has taken the option for power transfer between him and MuYu. He recognizes that neither MuYu or his daughter will alter their plans so he empowers MuYu as much as possible and suggests a quiet life in Na’an clinic when this is all sorted. Changhe has successfully reached 9th level hell palm but learns after the fact there is serious backlash if used. First Prince continues to be an annoying prat but that seems what his role is to be. He isn’t happy that Changhe has a very detailed account of Blood River members and is well aware of what’s been happening. The eunuch gives him a 50/50 chance of being able to kill the first Prince. He is such a cowardly weasel that I don’t think he will be missed, but the powers that be seem to accept he will be on the throne. 😝 I really want another option. He doesn’t need puppet poison, he is already eunuch’s puppet.😝They are preparing for confrontation to finish it and with golden puppet the sides are too close with first prince having the edge. I still find Lianyue’s character lesser since he has returned. I don’t know if that is by design to follow story, but I find myself as disappointed in him as Rabbit is and I am unconvinced by the Prince’s words as she is. I was so hopeful for these two initially, but if this is the extent of his character now, she is better off without him.

Changhe continues cultivating, patients are moved to Wan’s Tower and both princes evaluating their alliance choices. Doc Bai is finally conscious and made aware of their current accommodations. Muyu is in pretty serious condition but doesn’t want it made known. They are giving these two a romantic moment and as much as I really like these two, I’m just not getting that vibe here. Rabbit corners LianYue to see where his heart is with her. She knows that he likes her but he will not consider proposing because he does not see his clan viewing that as an acceptable marriage alliance. She is disappointed but accepts the reality of the situation. I am disappointed in him. But if he doesn’t have the courage to accept her as is and her blood river ties, he doesn’t deserve her. He has seemed less authoritative since his thawing and mentor kidnapped. His character seems to be shrinking instead of stepping up. Rabbit needs to keep looking if this is the new him. The times are too dangerous for him to keep doubting himself. Rabbit, LianYue and the two from Mu explore the ghost market. They find pills with the puppet poison being given to competition candidates thinking they were power boosters. While that is true initially, they have no clue about the more long term after effects. The four get the pills away from them but arrow boy and golden puppet show up. LianYue is thrown off having to fight his mentor. Night crow’s cackle is annoying. The one thing that consoles me is Uncle Zhe is on the way ready to flatten the city.
