The episode begins with a scene from 15 years ago. Shin is banging on the glass asking a man with vacant eyes why he did what he did. He is then at home in fetal position on the floor and Judge Kim is with him trying to rouse him from this state. It then skips to present where Philip is questioning the Judge about Shin. His observations aren’t helping him because he is completely lost and flustered trying to figure it out. Philip is very linear in thinking. Good is good, bad is bad and anything outside the box is alien to him. His brain hurts trying to comprehend how Shin does what he does. The judge makes a very astute observation for him. It is not how Shin moves, but how he makes the opponents move. He is a master of spinning his observations to both understand the situation and how to get the parties to a place of understanding. Judge Kim chuckles as his top aide leaves in total confusion when he told Philip to ask directly to learn. Both actors do an excellent job portraying the mentor/student scene. He talks himself in with Lee and the hostage and evaluates the situation. He knows the mayor is hungry and that Lee would respond better with comfort food so he orders ox tail soup. His reaction to plastic containers leaves you grinning because it is such an unexpected complaint. He chides his former student for not following his training better. He walks back annoyed with their lack of courtesy and next time soup arrives in clay pots like it’s supposed to. Shin has added Philip to the group by having him be the phone link for him. They know they are working with an ammonium nitrate bomb and that there is a separate detonator that works aside from the timer. Hacker Kim is very like Judge Kim. 😂 He brought the complaints to Shin to negotiate knowing the circumstances. Lee had tried every legal way possible to get justice for his brother and money and power kept it hidden. The location was approved illegally because it endangered water supply. All the environmental tests were also falsified. The law worked in their favor making the environmental things past their statute of limitations. However, Kim the hacker found evidence of the payoffs which still could be prosecuted. Shin called in his team to get Lee and mom safely to new location with new names. His student smiled when he saw them knowing there was no way Shin would give up on saving everybody. Shin used the remote to distract first responders in area and get Lee out. It was an impressive plan created in half a day. Philip saying Kim could be a good hacker🤣 He has no clue who he is working with. I am wondering how much he will know by the end of drama. We learn of the incident that changed everyone 15 years ago. Two children were held hostage and Shin only knew of the one. He received calls of the other but ignored because he was saving a child and keeping everybody alive. The most sorrowful irony is that the other hostage was his son. The great negotiator renowned for saving everybody in hostage situations failed his family. This broke them all. The woman who saved Lee mother and son was the woman he helped then. Shin kicks Philip out and sees he forgot some textbooks. As he goes out to give them to Philip, his former student enters. At heart he agreed with his mentor, but as an officer of the law he had to be against it. I can’t blame Shin for his choice. There was no reason to assume the law would take care of them now after failing so consistently prior. Shin made sure no parent on his watch would share his pain. His student couldn’t argue with this. They will have to agree to disagree at how things ended. There is a man in the shadows disguised and looking for Shin as the episode ends. This drama did an excellent job making you understand his pain and sorrow. It gives it in spoonfuls so it is bearable. We are now seeing how this child’s death destroyed a family and broke the spirit of a legal team. One victory at a time they are healing and learning to face the day with more hope. It is now more clear why he is both annoyed and pleased with the two young people around him. They are becoming his family as well as his team.

This episode demonstrates the little things that cause people to snap and make a big noisy deal out of it. The first is a peek at apartment living and how noise is a factor of irritation. Philip is being his future judge self and reviewing stats in his head with percentages at how it effects people. Shin sees two arguing and tries to leave but is called in to help judge. A local distributor is guilty of selling close to end date dairy products to a shop. Because she is losing sales she is behind in rent payments. Shin pretends to call the main distributor to complain and ready to provide name of local supplier and then ‘calls’ lawyer about repercussions of going to debt collector. Neither call was real but it gave both sides clear view of repercussions of not settling the matter between themselves. When they reluctantly make up he goes inside shop and sees On Pursuit on tv. His takeaway was the HI group produces the show. So these anonymous tips has the show reveal unsafe and unethical business practices of places that ruins their business and makes their owners feeling pressed to sell. Shin made the time to get the dash cam memory card before jumping out of the car on train track. Si On id’s the truck driver as one of the guys that chased them earlier. Philip wants to go to the police and settle the matter but Shin knows there is not enough evidence to get the real bad guys yet. Philip is guilty of seeing the world too black and white. There are times when it is only shades of grey and he has not experienced enough real life to understand that yet. Si On has a lot more street smarts so she is on same page as Shin about these people buying businesses cheap to build their resort and having others bullied or killed if not cooperating with their plans. The masterminds pulling the strings are rich and powerful leaving no evidence they are behind it all. Shin finds an old friend at a police station. He was demoted over something that happened 15 years ago and Shin reminds him it wasn’t his fault. Shin asks officer Choi to run a background check on the truck driver. It then goes to the host of On Pursuit who noticed the anonymous tips matched land locations for a resort project. He realizes he’s been used to ease land purchases for unscrupulous developers and agrees to the terms requested by the salted seafood co op. While Philip handles the settlement agreement, Shin has a chat with the bum of a grandson. The kid does love his gma, but he is a lazy guy that has no intention of continuing the family business or marrying to please her. He took money from an unknown person to make a video of the maggots. He planned on taking his gma to Seoul to open a shop there. Shin is disgusted with him and takes a call. Officer Choi sends him the background check if the driver. The papers now have to be filed with the court and since Philip didn’t like dumplings he gets the task.😂 Shin is now on a mission to bring pain to his would be killer. He goes to the dumpling shop of the wife and Si On gets video of the daughter studying. Choi had the fun task of chasing him down when he fled scene after learning Choi knew who he was. It ended up in a hostage situation where Choi has a PTSD flashback. Fortunate bystander hit knife holder over the head with a pan and Choi got him cuffed with nothing happening to the woman. Choi allowed a 3minute chat with Shin while in holding. After Shin explained it would only be fair to hit his wife and daughter with a truck the way he did with Shin and Aide, the guy talked. While the realtor, mayor and local bully were celebrating resort plans, On Pursuit host revealed the resort plan, who responsible, and apologized for treating the fabricated tip as real. Nice win for Shin.😁 When he meets with his friend the judge, there is already a very big case being brought against the HI Group. This case has the judge’s full attention. Shin chides him for being used to sway public opinion and laying the groundwork for the much bigger case. He then hands the judge receipts for every cost while working on it.😂 The judge denies it, but his grin suggests otherwise. These two have significant work history between them. Choi is now very popular after being recorded saving the day with hostage scare. Si On Philip and Shin are having a celebratory meal of their successes. Si On has to be carried home and Philip notices the pair of wheelchairs and little sister. He is re assessing hi opinion of Si On. The truck driver caught their chicken stream on computer and he is determined to give Shin payback. Kim, the hacker friend, wants Shin to handle a cyber bully. Shin goes to an out of the way location and notices the ingredients for a bomb. He quizzes Philip about what he sees and uses 3 locations for reference, Oklahoma bombing, one in Bali and one in Oslo. He mentions seeing one in Middle East. Some commenters dropped the drama and lowballed its ratings saying drama put racism and stereotyping Middle East as terrorists in drama when that was not the case at all. So for any not wanting to watch for that reason, Shin stated facts where bombings had occurred and his personal experiences with one. He did not choose any specific race of people as culprits. Just that all races could have radicals inclined to use that as a way to make bombs because fertilizer easy to get. Shin is processing the complaints and how they focused on causing death and lying about it. He visits the guy’s mom and learns a bit about him and then finds a room where the schoolbooks are still tied up in new bundles but there are very detailed files on cancer, deaths in Yongdan and tests not adding up to the death toll. The mayor of Yongdan has a bomb vest on and is saying on video how he is responsible for deaths and deserves to die. Shin and police are closing in on the location. Philip is making his way there and following Shin’s instructions. They all end up at Yongdan’s fertilizer plant. Shin gets inside when he mentions the brother to hostage taker. He understands the situation and chooses to be Lee’s negotiator. Philip gets a call from his friend who was looking into who Shin is. That gets cut off when Philip arrives at the scene. The negotiator sent out recognizes Shin and is shocked to see him there. Shock number two is when he says he is Lee’s negotiator and not the mayor’s. He lets his old colleague know that if they want the hostage alive they will have to negotiate through him. From now on, Shin will be letting them know what the demands are. The episode ends here with everybody asking Why? Why is Shin on the side of the kidnapper? This drama is well paced and tells a good story. There are many twists and turns that completely changes what to focus on that keeps it interesting. I also enjoy the music. The actors do an excellent job with their characters and bringing them together as a team little by little. It is believable and not over acted or forced. I also like we will find out who Shin is as Philip does.

The episode opens with Mr Shin walking to work. On the way, there is a guy on top of an apartment building dousing himself with fuel and threatening to set himself on fire. Mr Shin appears to be an average guy just minding his own business but he is far more than that. He smells a gas leak and breaks a window to vent and avoid an additional explosion. He talks the guy down with a hamper of laundry and chocolate milk, gets the ass of an owner away from the scene to quit stirring things up, and signals the police when safe to apprehend the young man and get him some help. He then rebukes a young police officer for being so dismissive about the little things that make people snap, offers him a coupon to his chicken shop and tells them to give him a call if any rewards are offered. They combine comedy with a serious situation and show Shin to be a great negotiator. This was well choreographed and the comedy not overdone. The next scene shows all the new judge aides graduating and excited to get their first assignments. Philip is joyful that the judge he admired most handpicked him. He questions his sanity when he finds himself being told to work in a fried chicken place.😂Shin and the judge have a heated discussion outside and it is clear they have history, but not so clear what that history is. The judge tells Shin he has a smart aide to assist him and to get working on a case file. There is a seafood place filing a complaint and he wants Shin to negotiate and get them to settle out of court. Philip finds himself the delivery boy who gets posted on a livestream. 😂 He makes his escape to find the shop empty but two adjacent shopkeepers wanting to see Mr Shin. It is clear they aren’t getting along. Philip finds himself locked out and is let in by the delivery gal Si On who literally kicks him out of the way to let him in. Shin and aide are heading to meet with On Pursuit producer. Philip makes the mistake of critiquing Shin’s driving and listing the various traffic violations he committed. He then finds himself tossed out of the car and fired. The host of the show was introduced to Shin and they briefly discussed the topic of salted seafood cooperative that was filing a complaint against the show. Shin was not as successful as mediator with this case, but he’s just getting started. He has bad luck with the salt seafood co op because they know the maggots were a set up. The biggest one not complying is a granny who learned her grandson planted the maggots in the barrels. Shin and aide learn there is a realtor making a land grab from the business location and already has a buyer for all the properties not even sold yet. At the restaurant, Si On has a busy night of deliveries. Everybody is disappointed seeing her and she finally sees the blog that has Phillip on it. Apparently many hoped to meet him in person. 😂Philip goes home and has difficulty responding to his parent’s questions about his new job. The granny gave up and tried pills to end it after grandson’s betrayal. She told them to just settle and be done with it. Si On makes the guys wear the pink helmet.😂 She and Philip tend to have painful encounters for him.. 😂🤣 The realtor has sent some thugs after Shin and he and Si On have a chase with her bike and their van. Now both sides have pics and know who they are looking for. Si On calls in some friends to distract them enough to give up the chase for now. Shin has called in his hacker friend Kim to get info on the realtor. Here is where he learns the HI group has had a resort plan that started two years ago plotting how to get that location from salted seafood co op. 😝 While he was finding out all this information, his aide Philip had busted his ass to get an settlement agreement written up and signed by all the shop keepers. Shin arrives just as they were all signed , sealed and delivered to tear them up and said there needed to be a revised agreement that gave them what they initially wanted to include an on air apology from On Pursuit show. When they were leaving they were steered towards a specific road where they were sandwiched between two construction trucks over a railroad track. Philip got out and watched the car get hit and knocked off the tracks. Shin managed to hurl himself across the track on other side. The episode ends with him glad to be alive lying between the track rails. Philip is relieved they survived and wondering what Shin had discovered to change his mind. This was an exciting first episode to introduce the characters with interesting situations and some comedy to lighten things up. This is an enjoyable watch if you like this type of genre so don’t let the rating discourage you.

This is the last episode. Dr Shirakawa got accepted at Kodak hospital to start training as a pediatric cardiologist. Dr Arai has returned to NICU. Komatsu is planning her own maternity care center so she can be more hands on with women’s care after the birth. The young couple had a beautiful baby girl. She shared this poem with their families after deciding to go through pregnancy with Down syndrome child. The poem is Welcome to Holland by Emily Perl Kingsley. It is a beautiful description of the journey of parents with Down syndrome parents. Please look it up and read it. ❤️ Komatsu’s friend had a beautiful baby and then an amniotic embolism. It was very serious surgery but mother and baby doing well. Dr Shamayo is becoming more confidant in emergency medicine and Dr Konotori says he will stay put and be the link to get everybody together. Dr Shinomiya decides to take over his dad’s practice as well as continue his research. The latest resident decided to follow him there and Dr Shinomiya is ever grateful to Dr Konotori for sending him. 😂 This is a lovely and thoughtful series that helps us appreciate life. I am very glad I watched both seasons and highly recommend.

This episode covered non invasive prenatal testing. This can help point to any genetic issues the baby might have. There are mixed feelings about this test as some choose to terminate pregnancy one results received. This covered Down syndrome showing one mother that had a Down syndrome toddler who she considered as precious as brother and the lights of her life. One older couple decided to terminate and one young couple wavered, but the mom eventually opted to have the baby when she requested a sonogram and then chose to not go through with abortion. The issue of right to life and raising a disabled child is a very complex issue. These must be decided in a case by case basis with the family and then the best decision for their family should be respected. This episode has Dr Shinomiya struggling with his future career plans as his father is ill and is the single ob/gyn of his home area. Once again he is in surgery when his sister calls. He runs out the door not sure when he’ll be back. He quickly states his father died and tells Dr Kinotori to take care of things. And the episode ends…

This episode deals with recurrent miscarriages. There is a test to help understand if there’s a reason, but they said 85% of women could become pregnant whether they had tested or not. This episode tried to help the couple deal with the grief and honor the three children she had in her womb. The couple thought they had to forget which was adding to the stress. The husband found out the little things makes his wife feel appreciated. Like him trying to learn the Baby song for her. This last time, even Dr Konotori was nervous, but there is a blessed heartbeat.❤️Dr Shinomiya stepped in for his dad. He learned that his father was so passionate about his job because he loved where he was. I think that registered with him. I am not sure if he has found the place he wants to stay at yet. Dr Sharikawa has not found a hospital to train him yet. Dr Imahashi tells him he must make his own decision. I liked Imahashi looking out for Komatsu when she was stressing over the mom with multiple miscarriages. Her heart is so big and she internalizes it when she is bound by hospital protocol and can’t do more. Dr Shimoya gets a chance to shine when a pregnant ER patient arrives. The ER doctors are used to pushing her aside and this was the first time where she handled the baby and they did the mom and both were doing well. It was a proud moment she needed. The team is flexing its wings and that means changes for them. This season is focusing on that a lot more than just patient cases. I am enjoying it, but it’s clear they are rounding out story rather than gearing up for a next season. That makes me a bit sad, but there are many episodes with high rewatch value whenever I want to revisit the team.

Dr Shirakawa had to learn the hard way. His mentor needed to leave for awhile and Dr Shirakawa assumed he was ready to be in charge. He misdiagnosed a newborn and gave her the wrong treatment for three days til a colleague called Dr Imahashi to come in. They discovered a defect rather than condition and the baby was transferred to another hospital for the operation. He is told to accompany the parents and when sneaking out of the hospital he runs into the Iron Lady. (She was a staff member season 1). She chatted with him about her mistake and taking myths off to end up working part time in pediatrics at a different hospital. Imahashi yelled at him to own his mistake and be with the parents. The baby did well in surgery, and while the mom was more forgiving the dad was done with him. He did some soul searching and when he was crying at the hospital, Imahashi told him to remember the feeling. He ultimate decision was to go into pediatric cardiology so he could learn faster and better. The team is short handed but let him go. While all this is going on, Shinomiya had an offer to work with a university to find better treatment for placenta abruption. He would be gone for at least two years. His father is ill and wants his son to help him with his dream. Shinomiya isn’t happy but accepts his dad;s stubbornness. When he’s in surgery his sister calls that their father is transferred to hospital. The episode ends.😝

Komatsu is the heart of the unit. She is the one to make people smile and wants to be the world’s greatest midwife. She is a loud extrovert compared to the rest of the more quiet and reclusive staff. After her collapse her friends literally carried her to exam room to get a much needed checkup. The learned that due to a combination of other conditions that she had a chocolate cyst. She is getting past childbearing years so they agree a hysterectomy is her best option. She takes a while to think about it. She goes to her reunion and one of her colleagues has learned she is pregnant. Komatsu is so happy for her and so sad for herself. After reflecting, she realizes she can adopt and that she has brought thousands of babies into the world over her 20 yr career. She gets the operation and returns to clinic where they pretend it’s just another day. Dr Shimoya runs in and gives her a heartfelt hug and the rest of the staff smile, glad they are together. The sr that has joined them resents more than appreciates the help they give her. She wants to prove herself as a doctor and that having a baby won’t make her lesser than anyone else on staff. She apologizes to Shinomiya and will do better about accepting help when needed. Dr Sihrkawa is coming into his own as a neonatologist. He gave a lecture at a convention and was noticed by a prominent pediatrician. After that he started getting more full of himself. He admonished a nurse rather sharply and when his mentor tried to advise him about something, he was cut off and informed not to worry because he was well aware of what his capabilities were. The mentor shakes his head sadly wondering what happened to the shy young man to turn him into this arrogant jerk.😝 Di Sinomiya gets a job offer and drops by where Baby performs to have a chat….and the episode ends.

This episode has Dr Shimoya filling in at another hospital. She becomes close to another patient that is also named Kae and is the same age. They develop a friendship and Dr Shimoya plans to go to her wedding. She also grinned at baby being named Sakura, because to her was a boy’s name. When she was getting ready to leave, she saw the patient’s hand shake and mentioned it to the attending doctor. She asked if any thyroid problems and was told no. The Dr did, however, say he would check her blood on Monday for thyroid issues. The next day the patient went into cardiac arrest. She suffered from what was called a thyroid storm. They saved baby Sakura, but were unable to save the mother. Dr Shimoya was devastated. In a meeting the head of emergency medicine wanted to know why no ob/gyn checked thyroid or noted the symptoms. Dr Shimoya stayed quiet and became more and more withdrawn. She over reacted initially by having every mom get thyroid tested. Not only did she get the clinic behind with appointments, she was making new moms to be more agitated and nervous. She was ordered to take leave. During her week off she was uncommunicative and gave no clue if coming back. Komatsu invited her to a concert and Baby’s playing helped her resolve to come back. She was unhappy with her lack of overall body knowledge and asked to train in emergency medicine. Her dept is proud of her but the ER staff not as impressed. The Dr she respected from ER told her point blank if she only came there to learn, she should leave now. The head of the dept doesn’t think she will last a year. It will be a very big change for her but will make her a more confident and capable doctor. After she leaves dept, their sr who had just had a baby signed up as her replacement. Everybody is happy to get a new doc and sad Shimoya left. The episode ends with Komatsu having abdominal pain and falling to the floor.

This was such an emotional journey this episode. Two mothers are on bed rest for duration of time remaining in pregnancy. One has two other children and the other is her first. Dr Konotori was hit with unexplained tragedy. The mother had done everything right and all prior checkups were normal. With no warning or reason little Akari died in utero. It was so sad to see her deliver a stillborn, but so beautiful how the staff embraced her and gave dignity to their family. It was heart wrenching and beautiful at the same time. She was their first child and will always hold a special place. The other mother was heartbroken for her roommate when she found out. She was also given a gift from her. There was such beauty and grace in how these families were presented. Another family had to have an emergency c-section. The boy had heart problems that needed surgery but the dad was not inclined. He openly stated that no surgery to save his life was needed. Dr Shaniya was shaken with this development because she later realized that by focusing on the babt]y, she had disregarded the parents’ wishes. She wrote a letter to apologize and the mom came to NICU.she let the doctor know they did not blame her for her decision and were ready to discuss the needed surgery. I was bawling my eyes out this episode, but in spite of the tragedy, there is so much love and hope. The music as always lovingly embellished the story.

This episode featured the mom that had a c-section and for second child wants to try natural. She is struggling as a new parent because she has mentally decided that the level of pain in childbirth equates to level of love for child. The child is stubborn and willful so she is unhappy with how she and daughter get along. Even the father noticed when he paid attention.😝 Her disposition was much better just thinking about it. Ultimately, since they could not induce when she stalled progressing, she finally accepted that a c-section is ok. This was first episode they did not say which gender newborn was. 😝 The chief of NICU is struggling due to lack of staff. The new kid is getting ready to move from ob/gyn to there and hopefully will be more interested. The Iron Lady did not return, but the new one from last season is doing a good job picking up the slack. So the question is which is better, to lack staff but have dedicated personnel, or have the right number of personnel needed but they are lackluster in job performance?

This episode had flashbacks to a young mother that committed suicide. Dr Konotori still has much guilt about her. The career mom was showing same symptoms. Dr Komatsu was frustrated because she wanted to get the woman help and didn’t care about protocol. The husband and mother 😝they could not have been more thoughtless. 🤬 He’s getting pats on the back about what a wonderful dad he is but he’s never home. His wife is losing herself. Her career has been put on hold and they moved on with her project with new people. Her hair is falling out and she feels completely isolated. Her baby is growing well and the hole in her heart is healing. Things should be happy but they aren’t. Dr Shinomiya talks her down from the ledge. He tells her she is suffering from depression, but she can heal with proper assistance. The staff embrace her cause and talk with her. She is encouraged to join a new moms group. Her husband gets a chat about his lack of help and he promises to be more hands on with the baby. I hope he comes through. There is another young couple where the wife has a heart condition. Special arrangements are made for the birth to be as calm and painless as possible. She comes in ever week with some silliness about how she should dress or eat based on silly myths and nonsense. She is finally talked down and has the baby. She also admits the myths were nonsense. These two are very young but hopefully will use brains better once baby is home. The episode ends with an emergency birth due to high blood pressure. The new staff member didn’t bring it to the attention of the doctors and was flippant about it. Dr Shimoya slapped him across the face and we all were with her. He deserved it. 😝

This episode has a young couple expecting. The mother felt baby move for first time and they are very excited. She learned she had cervical cancer and had to decide how long to keep baby in womb or even if continue pregnancy. The treatment required a radical hysterectomy so this would be their only chance for a pregnancy. Dr Konotori knows his mother passed because she refused treatment for her cancer. His third orphanage mom reminded him that his mother really wanted to raise him with her own two hands. He decided 28 weeks would give mother and child best chance. Their daughter is very tiny in NICU, but the mother’s test came back negative after the surgery. Dr Shinomiya declares them both lucky. He always chooses to play devil’s advocate, and he brings up reasonable arguments. But he also smiled when they couldn’t see him. The career mom from last season is answering fine to all questions but something is off. Dr Komatsu had her fill out a survey about difficulties as a new mom and encourages her to come to them for guidance and assistance. The end of the episode shows her severely depressed and on roof ledge at hospital. The episode pushed hpv vaccines. Vaccinations are important, but some must weigh the risks to the benefits.

Season two shifts our view a bit. Dr Konotori is on a remote island helping his mentor for his ‘holiday’. Baby has a new wig. And we now see how the new parents deal with baby at home. There is a new resident in NICU and we are introduced to a deaf couple having a baby. Nobody could really sign so here new resident helps a lot shuffling cards for her to read. They seemed a bit fearful their child could hear. The grandparents are not enthused with them having children when neither can hear. It was nice to see the effort the staff went to to try to make them as comfortable as possible. A career oriented couple wants their baby to fit into their busy schedules. She wants to have it all mapped out. Their plan is shot to hell when they learn their child has a hole in her heart. It is fixable, but has to wait til she’s older. The baby cries a lot and the mom is freaking because she is doing an internet deep dive into her daughter’s condition. The dad says he will be supportive, but so far, it hasn’t fit into his work schedule. The mom has added guilt because her pet project at work has been handed to a colleague to handle and neither is happy with that situation. On the island, Dr Konotori got to see first hand how to make do with limited medical facilities. His mentor wants to inspire him to help at their clinic. Dr Shinomiya is as charming and smiling as ever.😝 He has already told ‘jr’ resident to stay out of his way. Dr Konotori is back, but it seems his thoughts have not completely left the island. They had a 2 yr checkup with Naoto, the trisomy 16 baby. And after seeing struggles of career moms, Dr Shamayo wonders if she can be both mom and doctor. She is most happy to be out of resident status and officially a doctor. Music is more orchestral than piano but still very enjoyable.

This episode had a baby with trisomy 16. The baby had been in NICU for 3 months and while the mother faithfully showed up with breast milk every day, they were too fearful to visit. The hospital they had visited prior painted such a dark picture they couldn’t face it. The mother finally got brave enough to peek and with a boot from Dr Shinomiya the father finally came. They decided to take their baby home and make every day memorable. Mei has reached first bday and her father is ready to send her to grandparents. His career plans are fleeing and he sees no way to fix things. He has a heart to heart conversation with Dr Konotori who shared some thoughts on what a child who lost a parent needed to know. He gave father and daughter concert tickets and the end result father chose a more realistic job that meshed with family living. A reporter came wanting to publish a story about their clinic. She was an older mom to be who had suffered through fertility assistance. Originally she was going to do a reveal piece on who ‘Baby’ really was but changed it to something more heartfelt, a picture book telling of all the families who had babies born their and their stories. Sakura learns more about his mom and how he got his name. I thought it was interesting that the administrator was his guardian growing up.dr Shimoya helped save a mother who collapsed and lot heartbeat. She is now feeling more part of the team as the young staff Dr in NICU has also matured and become more confident in his training. The Iron Lady has not returned yet. There is a Christmas concert in the hospital with Dr Konotori playing. For once the administrator doesn’t care if they figure out he is ‘Baby’. Everyone is enjoying Christmas celebrations at home or the hospital. This drama showcases many of the things encountered in the delivery room. Both good and bad. It does an excellent job balancing patients and doctors’ experiences and impressions. The music is excellent and the actors did a fine job. Production took you right to their rooms experiencing whatever happened. This drama is very emotion packed. It covers heavy topics, but leaves you with love and hope in your heart for the future. Highly recommend.
