Hey, I just checked the sword rose of Dilruba from Tencent is going to be released from July 12 at 7.30 p.m. on CCTV. 7 to 8 is normally considered prime time. so can OG be still released? I heard that OG would be released on prime time. I don't see any time slot left like at 6p.m. is CD and 7.30 is sword rose so OG would be where? but even if OG is released in another CCTV channel wouldn't it compete with CD and SR for viewer's ratings, I don't know if CCTV will do that. Another thing I have noticed (correct me if I am wrong) is that CCTV releases only two big platform dramas (like from tencent, iqiyi, youku, mango etc) at the same time period with a gap between release date 4 to 5 days and some other small dramas and various national promotion materials short films and stuff.

I am going to develop a depression over this drama release. Hope it releases in July because this is the best month for it to be released and less competition with other dramas due to being different types. It will get good ratings in July and not get affected with iqiyi and tencent dramas of the same time. I hope youku management can understand this.

I hope youku can publish the release earlier like IQIYI did (16 days ago more than ago). Sudden drama drop is not good for ratings.

Yeah I had the same analysis.. now that CCTV has made its choice, this is the only slot available for WDBTD for release in Q3 otherwise after CD finishes it would be the turn of TIA and OG by then August would be over and summer break too. Love and Crown didn't have a shadow of their confirmed promotion or episode count. Although it is possible for CCTV one modern OG and costume CD. But I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying. Youku please don't be unexpected.

And I think it would be nice to have CD and WDBDT airing at the same time, they won't affect each other popularity as one is crime solving mystery serious type, the other is sweet xiania romance with a relaxing vibe. One will keep people on edge and the other would make people happy. These two dramas can have a complementary effect. After watching something brain burning people would feel like watching something that doesn't have much twist or turn.

I am so happy that there are so many people obsessed with this novel like me. Btw, last year after finishing this novel I was looking for similar novels. I am more of a novel person than drama. My choice for good romance novels are always those with the least angst, no annoying misunderstanding, plot mostly light-hearted only heavy for a few chapters and the MOST IMPORTANT( the FL can never be wronged/ feel aggrieved due to the ML and must be treated well by the ML always; no matter what kind of bad past or baggage the ML has he can't take it out on the FL like Sima Jiao never put pressure on the FL after figuring out she didn't have any malice or greed for his spiritual fire or blood and even when he did at first it was just a bit scare with truth buff pressure no actual harm, which is why I am so crazy about Xianyu ; as in many stories the FL is made to be trash-can for tragic MLs all the time as if tragic past is a free ticket to abuse the FL ) Anyways in dramas/novels I am always biased towards my own gender.

So after searching last year, although not the same but I did find two heart-warming stress free novel with good plot. If you guys are interested feel free to check them out in your free time. MTL English is good enough for these two novels.

1) Transmigrating As the Cat in the Villainous Devil Lord’s Arms

The FL here is also quite a salted fish and transmigrates into an ordinary cat and becomes the devil lord's pet. Their relationship is quite heartwarming and side characters are funny. The heavy plot is on the male lead's side like Xianyu's. The difference is probably that the female lead is pushed out to make progress by the male lead ( bc the male lead has a trauma of losing the female lead once) and she is more involved in the male lead's struggle and wants to protect him too. There is also a positive side couple where the man who was supposed to kill his wife to prove tao doesn't do that but takes his wife to fairyland.
All in all, a good plot and romance, It would be nice if it could get adopted to drama.

2) Become the beautiful, strong and tragic hero's mother who died early

This one is about a family of three healing each other. If there is a list of xiania family novels it would be my number 1 in that list. But there are not many novels with this
kind of theme. This has plenty of romance too of course the parents' romance. The story is about a young man who lost his mother going back in time 500 years ago to prevent her death. He has two things to do
i) To make his lazy cat demon mother cultivate seriously and not laze around everyday.
ii) To prevent his father and mother from getting together even if it means he won't exist in the future.
This novel seemed heavy and serious at first but it had lots of funny moments and extremely heartwarming. The parents' romance dynamic was really good. There was no stressful villain or conspiracy part, it was more about resolving misunderstanding between father and son; family bond and just fighting against the written destiny to achieve a happy ending for a family of three. Parents had a straightforward romance and no miscommunication.
This was similar to Xianyu as the cat demon mother being a lazy salted fish who only wanted to eat and bask in the sun and going against the heavenly dao to survive like the Sima Clan is supposed to perish. This is also a good material for drama adapttation.

Of course Xianyu is always my number 1 in Xiania romance

Hello Guys, If there is any update about this drama after the investment promotion please do share. I am not a Chinese and don't have a Chinese phone number so weibo and other official news sources are difficult for me to browse. I have never waited for any drama like this ever. Even watching other dramas can't distract me from looking up news about this one.

In fact I have always binge watched dramas after they finished airing (first, reading spoilers, watching highlights to see if its okay to watch). This is probably going to be the first drama I will watch while airing. Its not the first time a novel I liked has been adopted but I have never been so impatient. Even with the double or hidden love I finished reading spoilers to see comparison between novel and drama then I watched. This novel is the #1 xiania in terms of romance in my heart. The male lead is so good to my female goose and their relationship is so comfortable and heartwarming and no annoying characters except the plot necessary villains. I have never gotten over this novel since I read it last year.

I just finished this drama today. I finished episode 1 to 35 long ago; just kept putting off the last 5 episodes because I didn't want it to end. This is the most compact drama of 40 episodes I have ever watched, literally no unnecessary fillers ; even the romance felt so complete and touching despite being a subplot which was better than many romance focused dramas. I will just write a review about some things I really liked about this drama.

Firstly, There are many hit dramas but beautiful plot delivery is rare. This drama really nailed this point. Its like one inch more or less would have led it astray. They presented the characterization of every character in every stage of plot beautifully. For example, when main lead Zhang Hai first comes to the capital before he finishes his training and his schemes at the beginning are shown a bit green as it should be along with the nervousness of a young man also hatred/anger that he finds difficult to hide from others' gazes. But with every small step forward towards his goal we see him become a seasoned tactician.

Secondly, there was some tiny elements of lucky-break / gary stu conveniences which was interlaced with the plot so well that it didn't feel abnormal or weird, it just gave the feeling that if it was a novel I would say " in a story there are some coincidences/ circumstances needed to make the story smooth flowing" . In a word, it felt just normal.

Third point and the most important one, as the male lead of a revenge story Zhang Hai was set as an upright man from start to end which is also rare. Because, revenge dramas/novels main characters find it difficult to maintain their bottom completely or not hurting/using the innocent for their own purpose. Throughout the whole plot Zhang Hai's father Kuai Duo's shadow was always there to show that Zhang Hai was influenced by his father's principles for example the carriage flashback scene why his father always walked..so no matter how difficult it was Zhang Hai never bend his moral bottom line although it made his revenge path much harder. So, despite being a revenge drama character, Zhang Hai never came off as a hypocrite or annoying rather positive and upright despite the darkness and gloom of revenge which I found remarkable. Zhang Hai was made a complex but extremely likeable character. We know In some revenge drama/novels if MC was set as upright it might look naive or holy father; In some story characters are shown as upright with principles but then the plot will show that MC has involved/implicated people unrelated to his conspiracies because he was helpless, no choice blah blah... in a word hypocrite. But this drama successfully avoided all this and made the character Zhang Hai brilliant.

All in all, kudos to the actors, directors, production team for delivering a drama of such high quality.

Me too..my number 1 anticipated drama in 2025 is this one.

Thanks for sharing. Then if CCTV doesn't air TIA or OG next then the next Youku drama would be Xianyu. Or if TIA or OG airs then after these dramas would be Xianyu. So, Xianyu is sure to be released in July/August.

Its so difficult to wait so I Just keep browsing. After seeing all the posts on various drama pages, weibo, websites.. the possible conclusions are
1) The next CCTV8 channel dramas are The Immortal Ascension (TIA) -YOUKU, Our Generation (OG)-YOUKU, Coroner's Diary (CD)-IQIYI.
2) There are 3 coming soon dramas (among the ones that have obtained license) in the synopsis written in YOUKU website. One for the above mentioned TIA, LONG FOR FISH (WDBTD) and LOVE AND CROWN (L&C)
3) So, if the next 2 dramas airing in CCTV8 are with YOUKU then WDBTD/ L&C will be released after TIA and OG.
4) Or if the next drama CCTV releases is CD then in Youku it it might be WDBTD or L&C.
Of course there are possibilities for sudden drama drops such as in the name of justice or others.
So, now Youku's release schedule depends on CCTV. Except for the 2 CCTV dramas, which will be released first among L&C and WDBTD that depends on YOUKU.

That's a CCTV drama so youku has to follow CCTV schedule, I understand that. But why can't they release another drama. Their streaming content is too limited..one drama at a time..huh..

IQIYI has already made an announcement of the next drama after Feud. They are releasing one big costume/xiania drama after another. This is how summer should be. Damn!! what the hell is youku doing.. What are those people in youku management thinking hoarding one licensed drama after another.. Why do they always release only one drama at a time when other platforms release two different genres at the same time

Isn't there going to be a youku promotion investment meeting this week regarding the next drama.. We will know which drama airs after seven relic by the end of this week.. maybe can get an approximate info about xianyu release date. Honestly speaking among all the others Youku is the most unpredictable and keeps delaying the most. I wish C-drama networks would like Korean dramas where schedules are clearly planned and followed. I really can't stand this torturous waiting anymore. Everyone please share whatever information/news you find. Thank you.
