This drama is truly exceptional and I highly recommend it. The casting was spot-on and the acting was superb,…
You summed it up perfectly. I didn't understand every bit of the show, but that was more on me than anything else. Despite that, the show was so good that I couldn't stop watching. The scenery, the acting, the camera cuts felt so natural. It was as if I'm watching history as it happens. Under the Microscope is a QUALITY show and it truly deserves more traction.
Just finished and I loved it. The show wastes no time and just outright tosses you into the world. The plot was good, the actors were amazing, and the camera work was beautifully done. You can tell that the staff put in a lot of work making the drawing scenes feel seamless and natural. (Makes sense because of Shen Yi.) There are no static or boring scenes that feel flat or dragged out for too long. And the suspenseful scenes are engaging. For me, atmosphere is especially important for crime/mystery shows. It's not a high paced show or a flashy show. If you want to treat yourself to some nice mystery without it being too intense, Under The Skin is definitely worth the watch.
It's been nearly a week since I finished this drama and I still haven't moved on. This show really set the standard for bromance in Chinese dramas for me. I've been taking a break from romance, so MLC was refreshing to watch and was exactly what I needed.
Why does iqiyi like making wuxia dramas with endings like this?ðŸ˜
I just finished the show so I'm right there with you. I have many thoughts and am feeling so many emotions... But the sum of it is: this drama was wonderful, but it also broke me.
can you recommed other works of his like this movie or similar?
Unfortunately, I'm still new to the C-drama field. The only other show I've watched from him is My Journey To You. It's just that he has such a distinct artistic style that it is very clear and noticeable. I hope that helps you a little, hehe.
I tried it when it was airing because of the Hype.Just couldn't get into it then again Xianxia is not my cup of…
Is it Orchid's voice that bothered you? She starts off that way in the show because she is a flower spirit and her growth was stunted because her roots got damaged. It's meant to represent her innocence and being closed off from everything. She definitely grows more mature over time as she sees more of the world, and to fit the mood of the story. The beginning of the story is really silly, to fit her personality. Then it becomes more serious and dire. The change is slow and gradual. If you're willing to try it again, I'd suggest just enjoying the silly miscommunications at the start of the show. It's not overly done and I personally find it hilarious.
I'm loving everything, but the fairy... how long does it take to her fall in love with demon king?? Her devotion…
Be patient. Orchid and Dongfang Qing Cang start off on opposite sides, as enemies. When "enemies-to-lovers" trope is done well, it takes time but it's worth the wait. And, yea, Suz_Suz summarized it perfectly.
It's very clear to see that this is one of Director Guo's work. I love his artistic style of directing. Suspenseful, serious, beautiful, and so much sadness. Definitely worth the watch.
MJTY really got me to pay attention to clothing. Her designs are grand, gorgeous, and clean. She really knows how to elevate the actors' looks in the best possible way!
