As to the kissing part of your analysis... I've watched a few dramas with this leading lady and you are correct in that she falls flat in that area (on screen anyway LoL). All the leading men I've seen her with have had steamy kissing scenes in other dramas. She doesn't pucker up, there's no movement. Her acting is top-notch so she fulfills her roles through her performances, for me anyway. I know some people like the kissing to match the passion. This drama was just so draining that any skin ship was welcomed to just break-up the heartbreak.
I just let myself weep without drying tears or moving for several minutes after episode 15 ended. How can a drama put me in such a state that's not even sadness? There's no adjective to describe my love for these stories. THANK YOU, is the best I can do. 💘

Oh wow I knew it was 2001 at the beginning of the show and I thought of the Twin Towers, but I didn't think it would be such a big part of their story. I wasn't ready, it really took me back to that day and the endless sadness afterwards. They portrayed it so well. It engulfed our lives. I hope theirs is a hopeful ending, like so many who survived and thrived. I'm rooting for them!
