I really don't watch series where the main character lies a lot and the whole story is about waiting for the lie to crumble down. Do you guys think i should still watch this? I'm curious because of all the award, and I actually like ZLS.
Why the rating is so low? Is it because of DEX? She's ain't great, but not that bad either. The plot seems to…
I actually think shes a great actress. I watched melody of golden age, and she shone there, while DYX was just alright with make up that doesn't do him justice cos it makes him look comically angry all the time.
Am I in the minority for saying I dropped this drama because of Dilraba and the zero chemistry with Leo Wu? It…
I did not drop the drama, but I also think there's not much chemistry between them. Also, i felt that the drama is choppy, the manhua sequence was weirdly timed. All in all, I prefer the manhua. In terms of ethnical background's visuals, the leads' casting is spot on tho (changge from uyghur background, and ashile from kithan).
I was wondwring he came from as well. Would you please give me a short summary of his background? Or tell me where…
Actually, good news for us, because your question prompted me to check, and voila! the dispute was recently resolved in favor of the author (June 2026), so she decided to finish the series. In fact, she last left off in chapter 61, and I see chapter 62 released recently!
I didn't really like their previous drama - Melody of Golden Age- it was boring, and the quality of the cameraman's…
I'm currently watching Melody of the Golden Age and I have to agree to all of the points you mentioned. And I have to add, DYX's make up in Melody of the Golden Age was terrible and he looked like a hollywood mom that had too much done on their face. But those points aside, yes, I really liked them as a couple and im excited for this show!

Historically, Ashina is the name of an actual royal clan and ruling dynasty of Eastern Thurkic Khanagate. In the manhua, Ashina Sun's unapologetically a turk warrior and we get some background into this in the manhua. Considering that his name refers to an actual turkish clan, the drama had to change his name to Ashile and made him an adopted Khitan, because essentially in modern times, Khitan is extinct and does get absorbed into Han (China). Doing that, they can bypass the censorship as there is no geopolitical charge in making his background Khitan and have his allegiance to Han people.
You can read the manhua here: https://comix.to/title/dd638-song-of-the-long-march (or you can google the song of the long march or chang ge xing). But note that the manhua is on hiatus due to conflict between publisher and the author. It's a great manhua though, the art will blow you away!
I read the manhua and it ruined this show for me. The manhua has so much more depth and nuance, while the drama due to censorship made a lot of changes (eq. to Ashina Sun's background). I highly encourage anyone to read the manhua. For me, this drama, packed with the weird comic sequence, is not it. I also think Leo Wu's acting was so similar to LBY here and has low chemistry with Dilraba.
episode 2 was off putting the mother is like a witch wont watch anymore
she is not. continue watching it and you'll be surprised. this is the only drama where FL's mother took the thunder half the show. When mother arc was done, the show felt so empty to me.
If you dont do it for the money then it cant be compared to all the other part timers who are trying to survive…
Oppression politic is it? What's wrong with not being dirt poor or using an agency? She might not be the poorest, but it is still admirable for her to support herself in order to chase her dream. It is also pretty normal to be part of an agency in SK, what's wrong with that? if she's not doing well, the agency also won't give her any project, so her skill plays a part here as well.
Don't forget about her Master guarding super important entrance/pass... alone :).And a million other things.
I agree. I finally did managed to finish it and I still feel the master died for no reason.. its also the fact that the war was supposed to be happening elsewhere as the city was not yet breached.
I love the Story of Kunning Palace's opening credit. I think it's genius, because the literally did the storytelling of FL's past live in a poetic way as the opening credit .
