Why is this so popular?

I just finished watching With You (1996) and reading the reviews I see a lot of people wrote about how Love So Beautiful reminds them of that. It got me intrigued and got me watching.

The FL was totally obsessed with ML and chased after him even though he ignored her most of the time (and the rest of the time was just being rude to her). ML talked to her as if she's rubbish, told her to do things and kissed her several times without consent. Why do people think this is cute ????!!!

I skipped a lot in the middle but I did enjoyed the last 3 or 4 episodes where they all grew up and she had a bit more self respect.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend. I don't know why is this drama so popular??! Very disappointed to myself for wasting several hours watching this.

All Time Favourite K-drama

Dong Yi is my all time favourite k-drama. I watched it from beginning to end every couple of years.

Everything about it is so brilliant. Dong Yi's character, the King's absolute love to Dong Yi, Dong Yi's son, Dong Yi's orabuni Chun Soo who always put her first even though it means she never knows how much he loves her, you name it.

Every character play their part to the perfection.

I bawled my eyes out every.single.time (tears of happiness and tears of sadness)!!

10/10 all the way.

Would I recommend this drama?

If you want to watch a realistic drama, move over, this is not for you . If you want to watch fluffy make your heart smile drama (and generate laughters), then yes I will recommend you to watch this.

The pull and push in the ML and FL relationship is just so awkward and draggy. But don't worry, this drama gets better and better.

I read some parts the novel as I finished watching ep 20 to see which one is worse, the drama or the novel. The answer is, the novel by heaps! Why? Because the novel has no Bai Lu and Dylan. At first I thought this was an adaptation of an anime, so I was surprised to find out it's a novel. The novel is so badly written, so cringy.

I would certainly have dropped this drama after just 1 or 2 episodes if not because I love Bai Lu and how good looking Dylan is as the CEO. In fact, I wouldn't even touch this drama if not because of Bai Lu and Dylan.

The couple with the best storyline is actually ML's niece with the professor. The niece is the youngest amongst the 3 female leads, yet she's the only mature one (with FL's best friend being the worst of all).

The business side of the story is actually not too bad.

CONS:
1. FL continuedly lied to ML all the way (well so far anyway, I'm at ep 20 now).
2. The second leads (Shan Shan and Mr Gu Jnr)... What the heck?!? Fast forward all the way.

PRO:
Bashing this drama aside, I do enjoy watching Bai Lu and Dylan - and the 2ML, and 3ML. This drama is definitely swoon worthy and full of eye candy. I smiled and giggled a lot watching this. I would even rewatch just to watch the ML and FL chemistry. So according to my enjoyment level, I'm giving this a 9 (the novel I would give a 4.5!)

Lovely to Watch

I watched this while looking for other movies by the male lead of The Gentleman and a Young Lady.

I surprisingly really enjoyed watching this. It's one of those drama with simple storyline, acted well and most importantly, not silly.

10 episodes is also a nice length. I think because it's only 10, that's why the storyline is just right - no need for them to stretch the story and add unnecessary things (which can be an annoyance).

The romance blooms organically for the FL (It was love at the first sight for the ML). FL is very beautiful but she's one of those natural beauty, not too overpowering.

My Favourite Drama Ever!

This is by far my favourite Chinese drama ever.

The character development here is impressive.

The only story arch I skipped is the Demon Princess. Only because this series totalled up to 60 something!! But I do love the Demon Princess character especially her loyalty to Xu Feng.

The music in this drama is just awesome. I love Sa Ding Ding's voice!

I have read some criticism for this drama. And I still think it's perfect. So enjoyable to watch. Started more light-hearted and progressively turned harrowing.

Great Drama with Strong and Smart Female Lead

This is definitely not the usual drama with glamorous looking leads. The story takes place in a small village in China, so everyone dressed accordingly and with minimal make up, no fuss hairstyles.

I started this because I'm a fan of Zhao Li Ying and Luo Jin. Watching ep 1, I had my hesitation because I found out Luo Jin is not the main lead (actually he didn't appear until much later episodes, 4 I think and it was very brief) and the small village minded people really annoyed me. But sadly that what really happen in small villages, so what can I say.

Zhao Li Ying's acting was so natural that I couldn't stop watching. And it got better and better, I kept on watching, even though without English subtitles and I don't even understand Mandarin. The subtitle comes at a snail pace. Now we're at episode 20, and subtitles is still at ep 8.

Good news is Luo Jin starts to appear regularly at ep 18/19 because that's when Xing Fu and her husband moved to the city to find work (and accidentally encountered Luo Jin's character who has a small law firm).

Interaction of Luo Jin and Li Ying, even though just working relationship, is so beautiful to watch, I kept watching without knowing what the heck they're saying haha. They're such wonderful actors!!!

I find Xing Fu's husband as the most annoying character. He makes me feel nervous with his stupidity and small village mindset! I also wonder what will happen with Xing Fu's sister.

Slightly Gross but Excellent Otherwise

I love Seven Tan and this is why I started to watch Go Ahead.

I love the first third of the drama (about their childhood). The second third was fast forward 9 years later when the three kids were in their mid 20s. To be honest, it was very hard for me to stomach the times when Ling Xiao kissed Jian Jian without first getting her consent. First time, Jian Jian was sleeping (so it was really creepy). Second time, because Jian Jian looked really uncomfortable (I can sympathize with her!). The last third of the drama was as good as the first.

The only reason I managed to "go ahead" (excuse the pun hehehe) and push through all those slightly gross moments was because I genuinely interested on the stories behind all the characters! Especially Zi Qiu. Man, that guy is an amazing actor.

The ending didn't disappoint. Everything came together perfectly.

This drama is such a tear jerker. I think I finished half a tissue box watching this.

I'm still giving this a 10 because I really enjoyed the storylines. The gross moments, I didn't like it but I can tolerate it.

They're not really brothers, so I don't get how some people think this is incestuous. One is her neighbour, the other one is a son of a lady her Dad almost married. I just disagree how Ling Xiao kept on forcing himself to Jian Jian after they met again 9 years later. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against him. In fact he's also one with the saddest storyline. I just disagree on his kissing scenes! I thought it was really cute when little Jian Jian and little Ling Xiao was bowing to each other (as if they're getting married, like in ancient Chinese tradition).

The story of Zhuang Bei was open ended, it didn't say whether he ended up with Can or Ming Yue. Maybe he didn't end up with any haha. But it's ok, because at the end, in my opinion, this is more of a family drama than a romance drama.

Would I watch it again? Maybe. No, I think I will! This is a must watch if you feel like crying out your sorrow. I'll just skip/fast forward those "gross moments" between Jian Jian and Ling Xiao!

A Drama That Touches Your Heart

I stumbled into this drama by Instagram short clips recommendation. I have always loved Moon Ga Young, but never heard of Kim Dong Wook. At first I was surprised someone with his look can be a male lead (because he doesn't have the strikingly handsome face like for example Lee Min Ho or Chang Wok).

As the drama progressed, it quickly became evident to me that Kim Dong Wook is really really good at what he's doing. He seriously have that male lead quality. His eyes really tells how he feels. When he smiles he made me smile with him. When he's sad, my heart breaks for him.

I love this drama so much. It's so beautiful. The chemistry between the main lead and secondary lead is just amazing.

The story keeps on building up to better and better. Even when you think it couldn't be better than that, then the next story was even more interesting. It keeps me on my toes until the last minute of final season. This is quite rare, so I'm giving this a 10!

Definitely will watch this again in the future.

Entertaining

I came across a clip of this drama on YouTube while I was watching tennis on YouTube. The plot of this drama (contract marriage) is something which I usually avoid. But somehow the acting of the actors and actresses made me can't stop watching. They are believable and not over the top.

The FL reminds me of Zhao Liying (Boss and Me) so much, that it could have been played by her!

Overall, I really enjoy watching this. The lines are funny and smart. I burst out laughing few times for every episode I watch.

Would recommend for someone looking for lighthearted comedy with a heart. Watching this drama makes me happy.

Perfect Novel Adaptation

I love this drama so much that I actually watched this several times. Everytime I finished watching the whole 39 episodes, I would continue the story by reading the novel.

This novel adaptation is so perfect, that when I read it, I have all the actors playing the scenes in my head. I think all the actors and actresses were perfectly cast.

Even though I ship Tushan Jing with Xiao Yao, my favourite character is actually Cang Xuan. The actor who plays him didn't win me at halo (He's not my definition of handsome) but oh boy, he totally nailed it. His strength are his micro expressions and his voice. His voice is just mesmerising, and I don't even understand Mandarin that much!!!!!!!

I can feel for the conflicted Cang Xuan. People might say it's his own doing which caused him to lose Xiao Yao (hence the title "Lost You Forever). But I feel like the choices he made, he did it to protect Xiao Yao - it wasn't just because he's power hungry (well he does want to conquer the world, he's not completely innocent haha). He needed to be powerful so when people find out who her real father is, he will be able to protect her. His struggles whenever he has to give his blessings to Xiao Yao's wedding(s) is just so real.

** SPOILER** When he agreed to the suicide pact with Xiao Yao, that was when I saw how much he loves Xiao Yao, that he would let go of being a King (and abandon the world) and he would choose to die if he doesn't have Xiao Yao. It was the only time he made a decision as himself. Yes, he's a bastard for killing Tushan Jing, but he was just fighting for the only woman he wants to be with (even though he was much too late for that as Xiao Yao's heart already completely belonged to Jing).

Yang Zi is just an amazing actress. The amount of tears I shed while watching this drama (and I watched this at least 5 times by now), wow!!!

The OSTs are also outstanding in my opinion. I find songs really do help to push some dramas from great to outstanding.

I would recommend this drama if you like to watch characters who are layered. You won't be disappointed!

Thin Storyline

I came here to watch Lusi.

The FL and ML's chemistry was good. Good enough for me to want to watch until they made it into a couple. Then I couldn't get myself to carry on to continue watching the subsequent episodes.

Lusi did her best of being her usual a lively character, which I love. But the storylines are not interesting enough. I have zero interest on the side characters stories. SPOILER: the guy who used to have a crush on FL changed his course and fell for FL's maid, who treated him so rudely in the beginning. She was over the top rude!

The story of ML and FL is a bit unsettling. A student and teacher in a romantic relationship? My heart couldn't take it, I was always on my toes that they wouldn't get caught by the others in the academy. I understand both are in the marrying age, but it just feels so wrong for a teacher to "abuse" his position that way. He just seemed to be a horny guy whenever he saw her!

I have to say the SML is the coolest character here.

I wouldn't recommend this drama. I'm now looking forward to watch Lusi's next drama with Yang Yang!

Sweet Turning Angsty

The first arch of the drama is to show how sweet FL is an an amnesia victim. Her loving support to her fake husband won her his genuine affection. I was so worried when the time was getting close for ML to have his wedding to his cousin. I thought, no way FL is going to be a concubine, and plus I really don't want this drama to turn into a harem story!

The second arch is when she regained her full memory. We can see how FL suddenly changed her demeanor from sweet and head over heels in love with her husband, into this angry woman who found out that everything has been a lie. Her smile is just not the same anymore. She kept up pretending to still have the amnesia for a bit, and this is where it differs from the novel, where she left him without a second thought!

I'm up to ep 22 now. ML just found out the real identity of FL, which I think he's not totally sad about, because all along he thought of Lu Wen as his match.

I've been a fan of Zhang Wan Yi. I'm glad I get to watch him again not long after Lost You Forever 2. He does have a rather peculiar stare, which some people might say that he's too stiff. But not me, I like it, it's his trademark of some sort! I never watched Wang Chu Ran in any drama before (only heard about high criticism of her drama with Yang2) but boy she's so beautiful, and acting wise she's matching so well with Zhang Wan Yi.

Can't wait to see what ML will have to do to win her again. To be fair to him, it wasn't his plan to fake their marriage in the first place. FL called him "husband" and as a General Commander, he seized that opportunity and just played along with it. Otherwise the whole drama wouldn't exist haha.

Male Lead's Smile is The Best

I agree wholeheartedly with the other review. The storyline of this drama is weak. The female lead is just so so character wise, acting wise and look wise.

I push through episode to episode just to see the male lead. He has such a beautiful calming smile, so sincere I would watch even the worst drama ?.

Not all is bad. Even though the plot is just ok, at least the female lead is not one of those stupid FL like in lots of other drama. She's reasonable. The lead also has a good chemistry.

There are also funny bits here and there. The ML and FL are both likeable characters. And no evil 2nd ML and 2nd FL!

I have zero interest in the second and third couple. The second couple is the FL's best friend and a rich guy who went undercover as a normal guy to get to know the girl he met once and fell head over heels with. Third couple is ML's bestie and a young girl he seemed to know since they were young (I was so not interested I just fast forwarded, so I don't know much about them).

In general this drama is nothing extraordinary to write about. The lead couple has not much storyline, hence they had to use 2nd and 3rd couple to fill up the time!

But overall I enjoyed watching this drama. If you want something calming to kill time, then give this a go, why not?

Lighthearted and Entertaining

I read a lot of people complaining that this drama is very low budget. They complained about how bad the CGI, clothes, even how bad the hair styles are.

I started watching just to see how bad it would be. To be honest, I don't know what those people are on about. I enjoy watching the drama unfold. It's funny, well acted and seriously the CGI wasn't that bad. It's not like every drama can be high budget. Can't we just enjoy the acting and plot?

Blooming has the same vibes as Jiu Liu Overload (with Bai Lu and Allen Fang was 2ML). It's a lighthearted drama to make you smile/laugh. Some scenes are silly and exaggerated, to make you laugh. As long as we know it's a comedy then we won't take things so seriously. If you are looking for a heavier storyline then this is definitely not for you.

So Good

This movie exceeded my expectations. It's just a lighthearted comedy, that's what I first thought. But it continually made me smile when they smile, and my heart hurts when they're sad.

The ML is so respectful to the FL, he is someone who all females should hold candles to. Never settle for anyone who doesn't worship you like he does to her.

Their chemistry is also so sizzling from the get go (when they started talking on the phone). In the other dramas/movie, often the sizzle fizzes out once they're a couple, so when they decided to meet up halfway in the movie, I thought that's it, the chemistry will be gone. But not here.

The first time they met, they looked at each other shyly, and it made my heart smile. They were so sweet together!!!

I watched it again and again over the years. So rewatch value is definitely 10. It's so well acted. Well done!!
