I like Netflix's subs. The nuances fit very well with the scenes for me. Since I can understand some things by hearing, I haven't seen much discrepancies. And I liked it more than Iqiyi's. Sometimes Iqiyi's subs doesn't make sense and we have to understand what it said, or the music is louder and we can't read the subtitles
You know what? I love that we don't see more of FCY or more of XZ. They're equally displayed. Even though we're in her village, we see his background playing in the capital. And we're finding out things about him, his personality, his powers. I think that when the plot switches to his side, war and capital, we'll see FCY's background. Her family, why they moved to Xigu Alley. This way, they're not one over the other. Like, ML appears more than FL and vice-versa. They're equally appearing. This is lovely, this is respectful towards the characters and the actors. I have nothing but praises to give to this drama rn
Although there are many things I love here, I have to point out how awesome it is the fact that they showed us how people closed their shops. In dramas they usually just close their doors or have windows, but they placed some wood here, and the mechanism is so easy and yet so detailed. Also, when YZ broke the tea cup, later we saw that he actually broke the table's structure too. It was so amazing when that aide placed his body weight on the table and then the table broke. The details are leaving me so mesmerized. If we watch this with a "closed mind" like we usually do, to avoid some details/plot holes, we'll miss so many tiny details, even some physics (yeah, we can apply physics to fantasy!). The director and writer did an amazing job, the whole team worked so hard. Every part of this drama, even npcs and shops we wouldn't even pay attention, have details. I'm loving it so much

!!!! I've dreamed of a FL fighting together with their ML (just like in LOTFG). Here it's SO balanced. They're both equally strong, he protects her and she protects him. They're no damsel in distress, they're both strong fighters, and it's soooooooo lovely to see🥺🙏
