On HIStory4: Close to You Mar 11, 2021
I've always had a special thing for HIStory series as it was one of the shows that got me into BL early on. So far, I've found all the seasons and stories to be innovative and different from the common track followed by all the other BLs out there. I've seen the new teaser that just came out, and I'm not entirely sure what to think about it, but I'm going to give it a go, I don't know how to jugde love, I can see that the step-brother couple's relationship is questionable, but to each his own. There are relationships like these in real life too, and there are people who are willing to love and tame obsessed people like these, so I won't comment. And the fujoshi theme, well, it makes the show have some romcom undertones, but i hope they wont take it too far.
All I'd like to say is every story whether real or written is made up of flaws and characters are humane only if they have positive and negative traits. Love cannot be measured by intellect, so as long as the story is not cringy, which is a big no for me, I'll watch it.
By the way, the acting looks really good, I'm looking forward to watch it

Lifetime Channel is some hellscape level bs. I think there are legitimate issues with some BLs, but the problem…
I can't argue with that, God knows how many BLs I've kept aside because it was too cringy for me to watch, many BLs have these issues with direction, hopefully it'll get better and to say it has improved a ton from back then is not a understatement.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that so many commenters get all offended and put-out when characters display…
I feel you mate, people are allowed to have their opinions, but it's downright ridiculous when they want every drama to be a fairyland paradise. Nitpicking on every aspect, they don't want the characters to be angry, they can't accept non-con (I can wholeheartedly understand that some concepts can trigger some people, they're out of the equation), can't tolerate any sort of negetive aspects of character. But I don't see the meaning of watching something if the characters are all perfect. I mean can you imagine how the story line would be

Once upon a time there was a beautiful and kind young man, he always helped everyone around him. He never sinned and was righteous in his ways. One day he met another kind, fairy like young man who never sinned and was righteous in his ways. They fell in love, never fought, never talked back to each other, understood the other perfectly, they were just the perfect dream couple, and guess what, they lived happily ever after.
It's ridiculous.

Characters are worth investing you time upon only when they are flawed and human, only when they are questionable and relatable. There's nothing perfectly right and nothing perfectly wrong in this world, it all depends on the people involved. For many a sudden kiss might be a non- consented kiss, but for some who are shy and introverted and can't say yes even though they need it, it might just be a sweet "Yes!!Finally!!" kiss. We can't judge everything because we're not the people involved, I am not asking people to not have their opinions, but just as we appreciate goodness, I hope people can appereciate flaws too and embrace them, because that's what makes us human. Only when we embrace all aspects of life, we can accepts our misdoings and love ourselves completely.

No matter what others say, for me ShiDe and ShuYi are one of the best written characters, there's a lot of depth to their actions and personality, so my point? Love people for being human, don't ask them to be Gods.

On We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Mar 10, 2021
I really love this series, though having no hope at the beginning of s1 (expecting it to be just another college related bl), something about it just shook me.
I just love the characters, both Shi De and Shu Yi.
ShiDe is more of the calm and collected kind, like water, he's always got his act together and is composed. We always see him alone, minding his own business, more like he doesn't care for anything much other than ShuYi. He's even got a manipulative streak deep down, and is relentless. Sam's portrayal of ShiDe is mind-blowing given how much his eyes show what he feels.

ShuYi is spontaneous, more like fire, everything with him is intense whether love or hatred, he's more expressive and is short tempered. Yu's portrayal of ShuYi is so refreshing and interesting, and his smile, don't even get me started

Neverthless, Sam Yu's chemistry is just off charts. Not to mention all the other members of the cast, every one of them did a great job and none of the characters felt unwanted.

And as for the first episode of season 2, I loved it. I had some friemds saying that ShiDe seemed very different and arrogant compared to s1, but I cannot see any difference whatsoever. From my point of view, both of them have had some major communication error, so I wouldn't dare to compare who suffered more or blame one of them for the whole mess. When people say that the miscommunication and misunderstandings between them are far fetched given how we live in the modern era, and there are a million ways to stay in touch with each other, I'd just like to say 2 things,
First, let's leave judging this story for after it's completion and,
Second, love is unexplainable, when in love, people tend to overthink, the more we love, the more we fear loosing the other and this fear makes people do stupid things.

On side note, what the hell was that 2nd teaser, I could feel ShiDe's pain listening to his voice alone, I really can't take it when someone so composed and level headed breaks down like this, and ShuYi, I don't know what to say because I'd never want to be in his position, he believes he was left behind and now ShiDe wants to fight for him again, I can't even relate to how frustrating and painful it must be for him.

I'm so excited for this, wish everyday would be friday -_-

I'm guessing it's because rebirth is a buddhist concept. Portraying aspects of religion in dramas is supposedly…
I'm not sure since I'm not an avid watcher of chinese dramas, but mostly the concept is either shown as traveling back in time or is given some scientific explanation.

Ofcourse, I'll for sure watch it on wetv next week, since I do not have membership (and enough patience to wait another week to see episode 1), I'll have to make do with this for now, but I'll definitely watch it again on Wetv, no worries.

Can I know, on what basis do you people classify what's normal amd what's not? I'm just simply curious. I mean, are you normal then? Because my standards and beliefs say that you aren't, because I believe nothing is worse that being bigoted like this.

Each person is different from the other, just because you aren't homosexual, doesn't mean no one else should be. This exact form of unreasonable mentality is the reason for racism and prejudice.
No one's complaining about sex and kiss here, all we want is for the characters to not lose their depth and essence just because some loser cant accept differences in life. For me, The untamed, Advance bravely, Beloved enemy, each one of them were romances, they couldn’t have been more obvious while cradling censorship. What we bl fans want is acceptance, we want bl to be just another romance, when heterosexual couples can kiss onscreen and fans can go crazy over that, why can't we bl fans go crazy over homsexual kiss scenes. It's because of people like you that, many people look on to represntations of LGBT+ community as just kinks and sexual fantasies. There are bl fans who crave for sexual content, that depends on them, as long as they don't spread toxicity and debase others on the process.
If the actors don't feel comfortable acting on danmei adaptations, they just won't take part in it. So please take your debauchery with yourself and go watch your "normal" heterosexual dramas.
If, one day, god forbid, I hope you do not have anyone close to you who is homosexual, I can't imagine how much of a misfortune that might be for that person. Have a good time eroding yourselves with narrow and fickle views. Just answer this question, how is homosexual love any lesser that heterosexual love or is a greater crime than toxic relationships and murder? Ask yourself, what would you have done if you were homosexual, probably hate yourself then?

Let love breath, please don't corrupt it with all your inner hatred and insecurities.

Due to China's censorship laws not allowing gay relationships to be portrayed in films/TV they had to rewrite…
Not really. Shi Mei is one of the main characters, but he does not have a large amount of screentime even in the novel. Sure he has a significant role, one of the most important being Mo Ran's adolescent sweetheart and love interest. This is one of the pivotal fact around which the story is told. Therefore, due to censorship theyll have to change his gender. Otherwise this might get banned even before they air a good 1 or 2 episodes.

I don't think so, Guardian had themes related to buddhism and hence it had to undergo major changes to escape…
Yes, I'm looking forward to how Shi Mei will be portrayed as well. Not to mention, I'm a little thrilled and interested in the changing of his gender too, A woman behind all the mess, I'm sure I'll enjoy the difference. Just trusting that the actress can pull it off. You're right about Chu Wanning's actor, I must say that there can't be a better choice, the same goes for Mo Ran's actor too. I can't wait to watch this

I feel like this is gonna go the way of Guardian, where the plot changed entirely. Thank goodness for Zhu Yilong…
I don't think so, Guardian had themes related to buddhism and hence it had to undergo major changes to escape censorship. But this is a fantasy cultivation themed xianxia/wuxia (I'm not sure about the difference between the two) novel. I think there wouldn't be any major changes seeing how Shi Mei's gender is changed, They'll probably end up using pure bond between a teacher and his student as the theme, they same way they used unbreakable bond of friendship and promise as the core themes in Guardian and The Untamed. It's good as long as the acting portrays all the hidden feelings and innuendos. I personally think this is going to be pretty good.

You have said it ALL...I'm in the middle of reading it and so far, it's PERFECTIONIt's funny to say but the first…
You are right in feeling that way. Afterall not just Mo Ran and Chu Wanning, every person in this novel was so carefully wrapped beneath layers and layers, each unwrapped layer revealing more and more anguish, heartbreak, despair, obsession, hatred and love. No matter how amny times this novel is read, tears and heartbreak will always accompany it.

Erha is one of the best novels I've ever read. So heart wrenching and intricate. The plot is strong and intertwined with each element being connected with every other. The hints and significant points I missed along the read were so many that I lost count. The 300 +chapters kept me happy, squealing, awing, and filled buckets of heart breaking tears and curses. Definitely twisted yet purer than anything that exists. It isn't a book for the faint hearted ones, yet I can't stop recommending it because the story is great, great and great. I've started reading it for the 2nd time and realised how much I've missed along the way, how much everything that seemed to be passing thoughts makes more than enough sense now. Read at your own risk, this is a story that redefines the word angst and pain all over and brings them to another level. Yet, this story deserves even more recognition than it has recieved, because though it might not seem to be, it screams the true meaning of humanity and human feelings that are ever hard to understand. It leaves love and hate in the hands of those involved to decide whether they are worth it, because all the world knows is to judge, but those involved are the only ones who should be given the right to. I can't stop ranting, anyway, give it a chance if you're not triggered by the strong themes involved, I guarantee you'll never regret it.
And I'm so excited for the drama, I can't stop thanking the heavens for this adaptation. The cast can't be any more perfect, the actors depicting Chu Wanning and Mo Ran seem to have jumped out from the novel. I've got so much anticipation stuffed inside me that waiting for it seems too hard.

This show would have been a colossal hit if it wasn't affected by this covid19 pandemic, because even with all the unfilmed scenes and missing parts, i find it interesting and captivating as hell. Sure it is a bit choppy but I don't care as long as they're able to convey what they want to and they seem to excel in that. No matter what people say, I'm loving this drama, it's one of the best I've seen.

I totally loved this episode. Zee's acting was so good I felt I was experiencing heartbreak alongside him. Zee and saint totally looked gorgeous in this episode and I I don't understand how people can get more beautiful as time passes by. I was happy to see SaiZon, JapanThanthai and DewBlu, I mean I almost forgot their existence. The scenes and dialogues were amazing, touching and soft, I felt very cozy and I could literally see and experience the love and pain radiating from Fighter and Tutor. I was very touched with the way fighter ended up confronting his father, I could see his patience break, yet he held on and was mature enough to make his father leave him to himself, if you look closely you can find the guilty look on his father's face. And, I was freaking happy that Fighter did not end up abusing Tutor, lord I was scared shitless that something would go wrong during that scene. And,.....I realised that I'm not ready to let it end, I'll miss it so bad, I seriously won't be able to let this go.
