Title His
Just like many other viewers, I consider this a gay-themed movie, not a BL and it's in my top ten. I just watched it for a third time, after watching His: I Didn't Think I Would Fall In Love recently. I love both but it's interesting that the sequel was done in such a way as to render it irrelevant whether you've seen the first installment or not. However, I do feel having watched the first can enrich your experience of the second.

This time around it bugged me even more than the first two times, that Nagisa just shows up, daughter in tow, without warning and then kind of just moves in without talking things over with Shun or even asking politely. It's actually pretty out there in the utter rudeness of such behavior. It really was too much that Nagisa was talking to a third party about he and Shun "raising" Sora before Shun had even told him how long he could stay. Not that Nagisa had asked...he just sort of barged in when Sora had to pee and then never left. Now Shun is a big boy and perfectly capable of saying "no," as he half-assed kind of does at one point, but he shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place, and I think Nagisa knew Shun to be a bit of a softie and confrontation-avoidant, and took advantage of that.

And all of that definitely effects one's opinion of Nagisa...he comes off in the first half as a presumptuous jerk. It feels at times that he's using Sora's adorability as a weapon to win Shun over. Thank goodness for the second half. During this third viewing it occurred to me that perhaps Nagisa did things as he did because he feared if he called ahead Shun would reject him and any chance, however small, of re-igniting their relationship would be lost.

As it played out, the truth is he was right: Shun still loved Nagisa but his resentment and hurt would have prevented him from allowing Nagisa to come see him. So I think Nagisa said "to hell with it, I'm going to go for it!" It's also important to remember that Nagisa had already come out to his wife and his divorce was well underway before he went to see Shun. It's not as though he was going back if Shun told him to f**k off. He had already done the hard work of getting honest with himself and his wife before seeking out Shun.

Sora, is of course the movie's star and also its conscience. That's a great example of natural acting ability.

I agree with others who would like to see a third installment covering the years in-between the first and second shows. The possibilities are endless but it's bizarre, the little bit of background we got at the beginning of this one when N acts all lovey-dovey, then in the next sentence says "let's break up." What the hell is that? It's very similar to the break-up in Life: Love On the Line. One partner throws this nuclear bomb into the relationship seemingly to their partner completely out of nowhere.

"... the very WORST of the WORST is having to bear the sight of our handsome HGC making out, mouths open, with…
lol Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. EVERYONE is equally beautiful, no such thing as aesthetics or natural beauty or any standards whatsoever. Everything and everyone is exactly the same. How can you tell who is less "physically attractive" than anyone else if everyone looks the same to you? How do you know which people to keep your mouth shut about? lol

Look, once someone puts themselves out there on stage, in film, whatever, being assessed and critiqued is part of the package. These are professionals, not kindergareners, where everyone gets the blue ribbon.

"Han Gichan doesn't look any better than Holland to me." I don't believe you for one second.

A beautiful film. Quiet, subtle, thoughtful. Not for drama queen audience members who like screaming and fighting, though there is PLENTY of drama going on here. Bravo. 9/10

Nagisa is a piece of shit. Only redeeming part about this movie is Shun's angelic face
Must be nice to have never made substantial misjudgements that have hurt other people. It's good that you are a saint and in a position to call others "pieces of shit." Nagisa more than made up for his mistakes; there was no way to correct them without hurting the wife. Or would you prefer that he continue to live a lie? Finally, the way in which he turned over custody when he didn't have to shows NOTHING but integrity and decency. Get over yourself.

WOW. Homophobic? Are you insane? Do you have the slightest Idea of the mind-blowing change in le's world-view…
Your English makes it impossible to decipher what you are trying to say with any certainty, but you're wrong. I'll leave it at that.

I understand perfectly. You're not the only one to have done some research. You don't understand the multiplicity of symptoms and outcomes faced by trans folks like Amber, AND you still haven't explained what you mean by a "full man."

Get over yourself. Responding to comments IS discussing. If you choose to interpret statements about the quality of a show as personal attacks, that's none of my business. Do what you want.

As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
Oh...I was not aware that HGC officially qualifies as an "idol." I highly doubt that is accurate, as his resume' is still pretty thin. I can only speak for myself and I had no idea whatsoever who this Holland person was before coming upon this series so it had no target on it for me. Furthermore, I don't like the idea of HGC swapping spit with Holland because Holland is unattractive, his mouth is always hanging open, he has ugly yellow hair and he can't act. But again, I learned ALL those things AFTER discovering the show.

You are deluding yourself about HGC wanting to make out with Holland. Rather, judging from his bio, which is quite sparse, he needed the work so he sucked it up and did what he has to do.

What's your deal with Holland? Are you a Holland Army person? One of what...five or six? I'm just curious as to the REAL reason he was cast in this role. He has no experience and he's not talented as an actor. Maybe one of the producers is his BF. That happens a lot.

Personally I liked the slow bits and think it fit the overall story well. They really needed to build the relationship…
As for the side couple, Le already seemed completely comfortable with their gay relationship. I completely agree with your last sentence though. This realization has three or four more layers to it than the common BL "omg, I'm gay" one does.

Awww...is "fangirl" too obscene for you? "Shaming..." is that accusation supposed to apply to something in particular or are you going with recent Internet trends and just throwing is out there randomly for effect? I like juvenile humor. It has a certain honesty and directness the comments of someone like you, in their eagerness to seem oh-so-mature and academic, lack. Like I told the other commenter: Don't read my posts. My screen name is above them loud and clear for you to avoid.

In what way has Amber/wen wen always been a "full man?" What does being a "full man" even mean to you? Is there some reason you won't answer?

I know exactly how it was explained, but a lot of details were left out, specifically the current state of Amber's genitalia. You seem to be suggesting that Amber is now and has always been a "full man." I suggest you are incorrect.

I can make and print a fake diploma too. Give me half an hour. You keep personalizing this discussion. I don't know YOU. I only know what you write here and that's what I am reacting negatively to. BTW, you DO care what I think or you wouldn't have made this comment. lol

Wait a minute, I thought you didn't want "discussion." You want a comment section full of everyone just affirming each other's statements and ideas with the trope "we all have different opinions and they are all equally worthy." No...no, they are not all equally worthy.

Yu He is pushing him WAY too hard and too fast. I don't care if the series is short; I understand that, but it…
Oh dear, I'm terrified of you "getting ugly" around here. We can't have that. I said your thinking is "cute." I have no idea what you look like. And I don't give a rat's ass that my other comments have scared you. Don't read them. Given your MASTER'S DEGREE I'd have thought you would be interested in dissecting films and series to explore what's underneath, but I see you're content to take them as they come without much thought. So yeah...fangirl.

I have no way of knowing if you really have a master's in anything so I'll just ignore that statement. Furthermore, if you DO have that degree, it's even MORE disturbing that your standards are so low.

But let me guess: You learned in film studies that THIS ONE THING is "BL" and that BL tropes are required and to be expected from shows in that category. That is lazy thinking and over-simplification.

BTW, I have a Master's in Interstellar Planetarianism and Quantum Physics As Related To the BL Genre, so I know what I'm talking about too.
