I haven't finished the book yet, but.. For starters, the book starts with Azhao at a relay station looking for soilders going to Yuzhong area. But she deceives them saying she's looking for her father who is a minor soilder because her mother is on her death bed and no one will look after her sister (her maid) and her. Ajiu is one of the soilders because he was punished by his 3rd brother. He is definitely not the retainer of the Chu family at this point. He suspects she's lying but lets her come along. The reason she's returning home is because she has been just reborn and wants to warn her dad and stay away from the capital. She's also wanted because she kicks the daughter of minister Liang in the water. This girl's younger sister became her rival in the harem in her past life. Without saying too much, the major differences with the show so far are that Ajiu wasn't a retainer of the Chu family, the rebellion doesn't happen immediately after her rebirth, she doesn't become grand princess, the emperor isn't even dead yet where i am and I've read quite a bit. In short perharps, some of these things happen in future of the book from where i am, and the show just decided to skip ahead and be fast paced ignoring the beginnings of the book or they've just made major changes to the whole drama
I had started the book not too long ago. I just watched the trailers, and I don't know if i haven't reached some parts yet and they've sped ahead. Or they've change most of the premise completely
I haven't started this yet, but I hate so much thay they made Yan Xun like this. And i know, the source material was like this too, but it feels as though making him like this was just a way to push Chu Qiao towards Zhuge Ye, and in the first one i was team YanXun 🥲
I'm so glad they adapted this and chose Dilraba to play He Si mu. I just watched ep 1, and correct me if I'm wrong but Duan Shunxi didn't seem as jovial as in the book, I mean like characters like Wei Wuxian
I'm currently on ep 25, and although I'm enjoying this, there's just some things i can't ignore. Like the way her and her squad have so much freedom around the camp, does it make sense that they stay up late drinking and making noise in a military campt that's in the middle of war? The soldiers who are sleep, surely deserve some peace during the little time they have. The squad also doesn't train, but can move around freely. The most annoying part is when they went to the cage where Su Yuanqing is being held, i can understand acting on impulse, but knowing their status, they're actually acting as though they run the place. How can they act on their own and take Su Yuanqing. Even if Xie Juheng dotes on his wife, he really shouldn't be letting her run wild like this. Also, the way she's so skilled in combat. I get that she's super strong and her dad taught her, but she had never actually been in a fight until she beat those debt collectors, but she's able to go toe to toe with people who've been in combat and war their whole lives??
The same day before going to paradise with Mingee, Marysue told Subeen that she has feelings for him and she'll…
But she told Subeen even before the ladies' game that she'll stop pursuing him, and focus on Sunghun. And before she could do that, he left for paradise with Heesun, that's why she was frustrated
I don't even know what's motivating the characters anymore
