Chinese costume dramas are rarely exceptionally scripted. And the ones that do are cast by very popular actors like Xiao Zhan, and if the script is good outside of the cast, they are released based on public popularity. CZY has never been given a good scripted big budget costume drama till now. Apart from that Chinese costume from what I have seen I think 60% of it comes from average script and rest 40% comes from good script.

I have definitely been looking forward to TWOT since day one. I know how it will be. I want him to do more modern dramas in the future. I don't like costume drama that much also costume drama script is very average, I don't want him to work in these average scripts. If it's big budget plus exceptional script then I'm fine with it.
