Why did she display the blood stained dress in the middle of a room at the Murong Mansionโ€ฆ. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?…
I think they showed this way to tell us about murong qingyi's heart ๐Ÿ’”, like his heart is bleeding the way susu broke it again with the way she talked to him

Just binged the first five episodes and wanted to share some thoughts.
1. Let's talk about the pacing first. Gotta be honest, the first episode might make you wanna drop it - there are so many side characters and it feels like they're just setting up relationships, giving off major short-drama vibes. But stick with it till episode two when we get those flashbacks from three years ago, and the pacing totally finds its groove - it doesn't rush for the sake of rushing, every plot point makes sense. And those iconic scenes in later episodes? Honestly, they don't feel forced at all. The emotions just hit right, and the conflicts feel natural.
2. Now about the actors. Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan? They're just perfect for these roles. Both leads are that "beautiful, strong, and tragic" type.
Zhang Linghe's character, Murong Qingyi, basically grew up without any family warmth and only found something to hold onto when he met the female lead. For the past three years, he's been drowning in the pain of losing his loved one, but hanging on by a thread of hope that "maybe she's still alive." When he finds out she faked her death and comes back as his sister-in-law, he's filled with so much anger - at her for leaving without a word, for using and betraying him, for being right there but still so far away. But all that anger? It's just because he loves her too much. His love and hate are like two sides of the same coin, pulling him in opposite directions - the more he loves, the more he hates, and the more he hates, the more his love shows. Zhang Linghe totally nails the complexity of this character who seems wild and untamed on the surface but is actually pure and kind at heart. What really got me were those contrast moments: like when he's all threatening and intense one second, then the next second the female lead mentions she has a gift for him in her drawer, and he just goes along with it without question.
Wang Churan's performance is also super solid and full of life. Three years ago, Susu was just a student who'd risk everything to follow a clue, going into dangerous places alone, and trying every trick in the book to send letters to find Sister Xiaolan. Her love for the male lead is real, but so is her determination when faking her death. Three years later, she's back - calm, controlled, and kinda intense. She keeps her distance from the male lead at first, but the moment she sees the scar on his wrist, all her walls come down. Those two times she stood up for him in the ancestral hall at the end of episode five? Absolutely gorgeous and badass. Susu wouldn't go crazy for love like Qingyi does; her love is more like "I don't care if you hate me or what others think, but I'm not giving up everything to be with you." Wang Churan totally nails Susu's mix of tenderness and strength, and her way of keeping love in check.
3. Moving on to the plot - it flows really well, all those little clues from the beginning pay off later, so it's easy to follow. The production quality is nice too - they didn't go overboard with the skin smoothing, so facial textures look natural and the overall quality feels good (if you're wondering about heavy skin smoothing, just watch the show and you'll see what I mean). The only small issues are sometimes the lighting is a bit too bright and the filter has this kinda dull yellow tint. In that iconic princess-carry scene, Susu's qipao color looks off, but honestly, these little things don't take away from how good the show is.
4. Last but not least, some thoughts. What I love about this drama is how it doesn't pit emotional love against rational love. The male lead's love is super emotional - he thinks hatred can stop the pain, but really, every crazy thing he does comes from loving too much. The female lead's love is more rational - she hides her feelings behind this tough exterior, but you can always see the cracks in the details. They're both broken, testing each other, hurting each other, but they just can't let go. The show doesn't judge these different ways of loving - it just lets them both exist naturally.
