The issue popped up on weibo after drama posters were released and the main producer appears as co-producer and KU (ZLS company) appeared as main producer. This is the main issue. KU released a statement they sent letters to former prod company to correct breach of contract issue, if not they'll sue. Producer replied" there are certain clauses in contract you didnt respect. See you in court".
The main producer wanted ZLS for this drama, KU said they are fine with it as far they can sign a contract to be co-producer. They used her name, to force that contract with the main producer. Producer said they were tricked to sign it coz ZLS didnt take it and KU didnt let them know. ZLS fans knew she wont take a male centric drama (there are leacks said the former ML withdrew after ZLS didnt take it, and a new cast was made. Crew changes arent uncommon in Cent). That's why fans were shocked to see ZLS introduced this drama at first Youku Investment Conference, and made a fuss KU forced her to do it.
Fans has a single issue here, KU shady/tricky actions. They also understand leads of this drama are collateral victims of KU as well, in this dispute between producers.

ZLS had an interview in late January 2025 and she said she's under treatment and it's a high risk to relapse in the first 6 months in stress conditions. What a trial means: ZLS has an exclusive contract with KU, which means they sign her contracts for everything she's doing. A trial takes years, she wont be able to work till trial is over. KU has all interests to drag it. She can wait her contract ends (4 years) without spending money with law firm, trial expenses, without fee for breach contract. Even if she sues or not, she wont work some years if she doesnt pay that fee
The best thing for her interests is her lawyers will negotiate with KU a good deal for her, end contract, pay a fee and be free to work immediately after that. Exposing the wrongs KU did (and there are some alleg KU broke the law several times), she finally found this determination to hold the company accountable.
She was quiet last 8 months, tried to end privately contract with her agency, but KU cut any form of communication. Threatened her with industry blacklisting if she sues or speak.
