can someone tell me who the really good young actress is who plays the young version of Ryu Eun Jung? She is not listed in the actors list here, also not on other websites, who is she?
I don't think being transparent and revealing the truth is ever bullying. Its very easy for the actress to prove…
I wanted to write something similar to your answer, I fully agree. I would add that it is not only seeing their bully on TV and being praised as 'pretty and good', I'd think it is more that Korean actresses in general are always presented like innocent, almost childlike, cute angels, like being harmless, always friendly and caring etc, because that is the general favoured image of popular Korean actresses and idols. If I imagine I had been bullied and I'd see that person way later on TV being presented as a very nice human being, when they are the total opposite, that would bother me the most.
I didn't know this actor, I just saw the preview of 'love untangled' on netflix and I immediately thought 'he is way too old visually to play a highschool student-' His face structure is way too adult and square, it's just obvious he is a grown man. To be honest it looked strange to me that they tried to make him at least somehow visually younger with the hairdo. Was just my sudden impression after seeing the preview, not knowing the actor or the show at all.
while I do see your point and understand it, the problem is, you can't watch ANY historical drama then, can you? Absolutely nothing is accurate concerning the real circumstances at that time, and that doesn't only go for Korea and Joseon dynasty, it goes for pretty much everything that depics the times several hundred years ago anywhere?
What I mean is, yes, this specific king was a horrible tyrant and murderer, so I see why is especially bothers you. But if you take this further, what about everyday things shown that are not accurate? All the people back then had many lllnesses, many of them didn't have teeth by their 20s, especially poorer people, they had thin hair, often grey early by malnutrition, they had dirty clothes, EVERYONE, including the kings and queens, had fleas and worms everywhere, scabies often too, and so many people, especially the rich and noble, died of STDs, Syphillis was rampant everywhere (if you dare, look it up under 'Syphillis end stage' in the picture section, many aristocrats but also poorer people died of it back in the days everywhere, (of course they rich were never shown with the symptoms in paintings), and so on...
Same goes for Europe when the Middle Ages are often portrayed as somehow nice and cozy times, when all the mentioned things are left out. Concnering Europe back then no one mentiones the absolute stink everyhwere, as people just threw their fecies out to the street and everything everywhere smelled like a huge toilet full of shit - but you know what? No one wants to see that, same goes for historical incorrect Korean dramas in the Joseon time. No one will use lots of money and time to depict reality in these times, as no one would want to watch that.
So, while I still agree you are right with everything you said about that specific king? If you really can't take it as what it is anyways, a fairytale (because you know, there is no time travel ;), just don't watch that content? This never claimed to be an accurate historical documentary, but a fictional fantasy show.
As for me, the real world is shitty enough right now, with wars in ever more places and war mongering in even more, so I watch K-dramas to switch off from reality, including fariy tales like this one.
They just approved my submission! I think this one’s much better.
ah, that's great, thank you! I handed in a pretty similar picture but the measurements were somehow wrong, so it didn't get through. Yes, your choice is so much better, that's her now and pretty as always =)
who is picking the profile pics? This one looks like AI, and bad AI at that. Doesn't even look like her
well, I tried to hand in a better picture of her, but measuremebnts wrong, this wrong, that wrong - rejected. So the measurements of the pic are obviously more important than if the picture shows the respective person AT ALL. I just hate these AI images, they are ugly, wrong, and they do not do the people's real beauty any justice, just creepy bs.
aw, what a nice and funny drama! I meanwhile became a real fan of Lim Yoona, I think her acting is really good, and she is particularly talented in playing comedic role, something only few can do. I already liked this in 'king the land' and it's the same in this drama, I laughed so much in the first episode at her Taekwondo-slapstick - hilarious =D
I initially liked her in 'healer'.... meanwhile I don't watch anything with her in it. Although I think she is not a bad actress, her face is so frozen und full of fillers, it's constantly distracting me when I watch her in anything. It doesn't mean the dramas she does are bad, I just really can't watch them anymore.
I don't know this actress as I don't watch Chinese content so just a curious question: why has this particular actress been on MDL with what feels like 50 start page articles all of a sudden for the past 4 weeks or so? I'm seriously curious as I don't get why?
Kim Young-kwang is great as villain, no doubt. But I still think actingwise his best role by far was in 'call it love'. I think it's way more complicated to play a vulnerable and depressive yet expressive character than a plain and comparably 'loud' villain. Hope he seeks out other role genres again as well
this is one thing not likeable about South Korea... it's hard to imagine how a comparably 'minor' thing like low key drink driving causes every affiliate of an actor to immediately turn away and act like he/she is a leper. While, on the other hand, the guys from the burning sun scandal did _very different_ things to MANY people and they are livingthe good life right now, the main perp already having new business engagements.
'Twelve' - I have to at least start watching this because of the cast...that said I really hope they made this a serious drama and not again some comedy stuff...option one, - I'll be watching, option two - nope.
