I think if his English pronunciation was more Italian-like people would have probably had less 'problem' with it (I have no idea if he speaks Italian, had no idea he is Italian\Thai). My only 'problem' was that without having subs, I might have not understood what they were saying. I think it's very mean of people to make fun of others accents and I'd be the last to do so as I also have an accent. As both of them seem to speak Thai so well, tbh I just didn't see a reason for them to speak English.

tbh I never really understood the reason they spoke any other language as it's clear they both speak Thai very well, but I don't mind.
I guess the reason we see people commenting on their English is becuase those people know English. Someone who doesn't know French\Spanish and hears someone else speaks it might think they are doing a great job even if they don't. I can think someone speaks Thai very well, but be wrong. If Soong and First spoke another language, like let's say Chinese or Japanese (as those languages also appear in the series), we probably wouldn't hear such comments, as I guess most viewers don't speak Japanese or Chinese.

As a non native English speaker I sure know the feeling, but the question is if a series\movie is the place to do all that practice. In the end, I don't mind becuase there were subs, if there weren't subs I might not understand what they were saying. It's not coming from a place of insulting them at all! I'm sure if I try to speak Thai it'd be very bad and I'm aware that for people who speak tonal languages it's even harder.
