sorry but if he made you confused that much and mad so he done a very good job cause it's the character feeling not him .. Maze is the dull unheated person for it's own behind story ... Even phap character is so annoying so is that bc tae is a bad actor or bc the character itself is bad .. Yes they could do better but not with acting actually with the written !!!! i thought that too till i watched ep 5 the way nueng reacted to phap when he said he always come to maze room and stay the night was really weird too and in ep 6 he told him that they are more than close brothers like the hell why he always act like that towards phap if he didn't feel the same !! and why he always looks at him with so much love .. this is drives me crazy more than the main story :D
so did anyone read the story ...i really want to know whats going on between maze and nueng !!! Were they really more than brothers?? At least without a real confess ..
The misdirection is that it was being implied that they were lovers when in reality like you said it was one-sided…
i honestly think after this ep that not just maze was the one in love it was him too !!! cause when maze told him not to destroy your dream for a woman nueng was in real pain like he was running away from something beyond being with his gitlfriend why he would and even at the end when maze actually told him that's no different between the love he has for him or his girlfriend he was in so much pain too and in ep 4 i think when he was practices his role what he said their and how he looked back at their old pics and what actually happened in the flashback it actually bothered me so much .. !!! and why the freaking hell Ne told tharn that if maze was with phap it would be great for him !!! and if nueng treat him as PHI NUNG relation why he alwayyysssss send fire looks to phap every time he sees him near maze !! they make it clear that there is something between them maybe never they talked about it maybe they misunderstood each other idk but it's not just maze !!
i think maybe maze really loved him, not as a brother since they're not blood related

i was in the side of that he didn't really loved the king but more that he really didn't know any other relationship till the queen !! but bc that last look that you talked about it got me confused that did he loved him or the queen cause he acted like he did loved her so much !!!!
