Deep In and Double Helix have topped all the BLs for me. Both were very unique, and the characters were so versatile, and the characters absolutely nailed their roles!
When I saw the trailer, I thought I was in for a horny bl with facecards. However, the plot was so deep, and they filmed it exactly as it was, in depth. Throughout the series, I felt the emotions alongside both couples; that's how realistic both stories were. Also, since I'm going through a difficult time right now, Wen Dao's message at the end had me in tears. I love when directors, actors, and stories reflect empathy.
I also felt the scene where Zhang Zhun is smoking was quiet familiar. It reminded me of Jordan when he said he doesn't drink and Heer forced him to drink. And at last, we see him drinking when Heer died.
I think the drama is shot in Korea because when the characters are out on the streets, the billboards and signs are in Korean. I know they might've used AI in some places, but there's a possibility that they were in Korea to shoot the series.
