Most of the male characters in c-dramas are either notorious antagonists or complete douchbags like ML here or in "The Love You Give Me (2023)". Moreover, this does not correlate in any way with their level of intelligence. So leads here worth each other. SFL is my favourite here so far 17/24 eps watched.

It's more about politics, intrigue, duty, loyalty, and support. Romance is just right: not a lot and not a little. Some complain that the romantic scenes could have been longer. Also there is some fight scenes. Not much.

Ep 8 ML acts disgusting. Not confident or assertive, but really disgusting. Ep 9 getting even worse. And classic crappy chinese editing. Like they are in deep quarrel -> 5 mins -> introduction to ML parents. Lack of money and a fridge full of booze. Dropped it at ep. 11.
I guess i got it (not so smart to catch it for the first time, reviewed ep. 25) Li Yaonyan / Li Shuyao (appeared in the end of ep.24 and suicided in the beginning of ep.25) - Song Han's mother, As monk said she gave birth to him month before Jiang Huisun (Song Mo's mother) gave birth to daughter. Daughter was taken away and supposedly dead, but may still appear later (rise from the dead lol). I guess Jiang Huisun did't know about child substitution. Song Mo was born before that case, he is elder son.
