What i dont understand is what « badass » will solve? Being badass does not mean having emotional maturity. I’ve seen tons of « badass »character with the emotional maturity of a todler. For me Orchid through these 16 episodes has proved she was badass in her own way, with her own strenght she has succeeded in protecting her friends and her people mutliple time. Since episode 1 she has fought to change her fate. She does not shy away fromdanger, she is headstrong and she gives her all for the people she loves. How is that weak? How is that stupid? They’re are all type of people and all of type of stenght in this world. If instead of trying to put her in the stupid/naive box, you stopped being prejudiced against her because you chose from the get-go to see her as such, you could actually emphasize with her and see how she is incredible in her own way.

I agree, i was talking about his perception and reading of his relationship with his father. Based on episode 16 terrifying outburst by DFQC, he deeply think that his father didnt give a fig about him and since he did torture him and take away his humanity(lets not forget that), he will obviously feel unloved and undeserving of love. (On a sidenote, i dont think what he did to his son could ever be justified one say or another. )

I was just stating why i didnt think that the jealous trope was entertaining to watch since the only thing it achieved was to scare even more DQFC when what he need to heal was to trust their bond., trust her. The trusting part will be the harder part and the most painful process for him. The fact that CH is a prisoner made me think that if she heard about it Orchid will want to go and save him, and that will be the catalysis for the disaster that will bring everyone on the Mortal Realm, hence my theory about a huge misunderstanding from DQFC about them ^^

This could apply to a normal person, but he is someone who was never loved, was tortured by his father, whose heart is closeted and has received mutliple rejection from the only person he ever had feelings for. I think he is deeply deeply scared, and his survival response is to close up even more and mistrust any sign of affection because he does not think people can love him.
I think this situation will create huge misunderstanding between them and he wont believe she loves him until she sacrifices her life for him or something along the line.
And I think Orchid completely got that, thats why she response to his rejection by being even more comprehensive and explain as much as she can to clear their misunderstanding, she knows she has to go slow with him or he will run the other way and do not behave sassily with him. She has never been sweeter and kind than since they switched back and she understood him when he explained that he lacked feelings. Her all bodylanguage and words have changed to accomodate this whole situation that ask of her finess, patience, love and care.
Episode 5 they were talking about the Evil God Tai Sui we saw in episode 16 🙈 completely forgot about this🤣 For people who didnt pay attention like me, if our Orchid die the Evil God will be fred, thats why Rong Hao ,who had a marvelous idea to make a deal with him to access evil power to save his master, wants to kill her !

When in episode 10 she rejected him’once again, when he asked Why she could not love him, it really was a turning point. Thats when he somehow gave up getting her affection and it shows on his behavior. Thats why he always accuses her of lying when she shows a modicrum of affection for him. I think this all affair with Changheng is extremely toxic to their loveline and that it will end terribly 😭
I was thinking since in Xianxia the female lead usually obtain her Goddess statut after going through Earth tribulations, would not that be the same for this drama? She will probably fully raise as the Goddess Xi Yun after her Earth adventures. But then again this drama seems to follow its own road so this theory could be absolutely wrong too!
