That is the storyline...script. the director isn't adding anything
Regardless of if SK is there or not...the ML still changed the future by stopping his father's accident....
Also....it will probably be boring and they won't have much conflicts and barrier to their goal.....to stretch that for 16 ep....
Love or hate EY....she brought conflicts...a barrier to the characters. If you (generalization) taken a literature course, you would know a conflict/barrier is needed to build the characters and growth.
Also....the romance is not the focus.....the parents bonding with the kids are
The bromance (bonding) with the father and son... Now we will see him bond with his mother.....truly know their struggle as a teen.....FL to have a better understanding of her parents.....it's about bonding of family and friendship....then romance....that is the tier to me

There is nothing wrong with not liking a character and expressing about it.....the issue is the constant whining.....
There is a difference between constructive criticism and plain "hating".
I rarely complain about apect i don't like. When i don't....i express it in a neutral way...less "salty/hating" way as much as possible.
For example:
Business proposal.
I like both couple in the beginning. Then by ep 7, i lost interest in the main lead couple and enjoyed the 2nd pairing more. The main lead became "boring" to me. Doesn't mean that they are...but i lost the vibe with them.
It was amazing bromance and sismance.
Notice, i expressed my disinterest/unlike of the main leading w/o hating or trashing them!
This drama is about the family bond first. The whole purpose of the 2 main leads going to the past is because they have bond issues with their parents.....romance is like 2/3rd tier....
The beginning ep was more focused on the father son bonding.
You can hate Ey all you want for cockblocking your pairing....but ppl are crossing the line trashing the actress.
Also ML is also cockblocking and delaying their meeting and bond by preventing the hearing lost accident.
I'm being sarcastic here...but...it's crazy that the main FL has a big part in the storyline and screen time...shocking!!! I never heard of such thing before. Imagine that. A main character being a main character.
We will not like all characters. No biggy, but Ey got soo much hate...that multiple people felt the need to post about it....got issue with it. Complain about the writer. They wrote the storyline. All that hating makes one look extremely immature and as annoying as you claim EY to be.
If you don't like her scenes, skip it. Move on. You hating and whining about EY will not change anything besides coming off as a hater ...and being annoying
But seriously, you want a heavy romance. Go watch a romance focus drama because it obvious this is not a heavy romance focus.

The 3 people are chaotic and hilarious. I feel for the 2nd FL. I think all 4 of them are doing great.
