This was my first xianxia drama (and one of the first cdramas I watched) and I remember loving this drama so much. If people asked what my favourite cdramas are, I will list this as one of my fav. I recently tried rewatching and to my surprise it isn't as good as I initially thought. Maybe because I watched so many good dramas overtime but yeah I was so shocked. Still just based on nostalgia, I will rate this a 10 lol.

I haven't read the novel so I can't confirm it, but based off the bts yes they are side couples and maybe a love triangle as well since there is a 2nd ml. But I think the 2nd ml gets a girl so hopefully the love triangle is not too much.

Almost lover is adapted from a novel I think, so I don't think they need to cut the number of eps. I totally understood why they made the 40 ep limit, because some dramas were too long. But 16 ep for modern dramas is way too short, hopefully youku doesn't follow through with this.

I don't think sml is a villian. He was just a character who had different goals and views compared to the main characters. But I do agree if all 3 characters talked, everything would have worked out. That is why I think the main theme of the drama is miscommunication.

I am not sure because I haven't read the novel but I think they get together near the end of highschool, and then they seperate when he is in hong kong and get together again. Based off the reuters it looks they spend a lot of time in highschool so they might get together somewhere in the middle of the drama but like each other before.

Based off the bts, I can see some similarities between pei wenxuan and jiang qiaoxi. They both treat the fl gently and look like they will do anything for her. I am already falling for him just by watching the bts.
