Why do you think what I said is blasphemy against the couple instead of criticism against the writing?

I understand complicated personalities and I love psychotic characters but what I meant with that line is that when people watch a show, subconsciously they have reasons why they lean towards certain characters. It's not always explicit but there are reasons. We aren't given room to do that with Hua Yong and SSY, it's like the show is saying "These are the main characters so anything they do is cool and okay and right" and when you ask why, the only answer is "Because they're the main character" which I think is just lazy reasoning.

Before I start, everybody should know that I don't think the 2nd couple is better I simply prefer their story; so the competition thing between the two is ridiculous. I am dissappinted not to see Gao Tu at all this episode. I love that boy and I looked forward to him all week and I'll probably bitch and moan about it for the rest of the week, Li Peien is a gem to me. Now onto why we like the 2nd couple. We know why they are the way they are. Gao Tu has reasons for pretending to be something he's not. Shen has reasons for being a little bitch. There is yearning and other hidden truths between them from the rest of the characters. An element that is missing with the 1st couple. You gotta understand, audience always wants to know why they're rooting for a character... we don't know why we're supposed to be rooting for Hua Yong so it makes him feel too detached from us. In every story, no matter how unrealistic the universe is to our real world, the reactions and decisions should remain realistic, that's what creates the connection between characters and the people watching. We root for Gao Tu coz he's feels deserving because of what he's willing to and has been going through to have it. We want them to be together because that's what Gao Tu wants and we want him to have at least one thing he desires. Hua Yong is powerful, rich, gorgous, successful, and untouchable and we love that; we also love that he's willing to do anything to be with the man he wants but either than that, we don't really know why he's not being upfront with this man. Yes in the novel it's told but this isn't the novel, it's the show and not everyone who watches this has read that and no one should be forced to either (only people who are forced to eead it should be the creators of the show). Maybe if we knew why Hua Yong does what he does, we'd lean to him more but we really have no clue. At the moment it just feels like a sadistic taunt for him, nothing else and that's not a bad thing; he's great for it but you also can't blame people for not caring for soneone who has no worries to begin with. Everything that's happened with and around Hua Yong has been in his control, he's a diva and we do love a diva but that's all there is to it. It's just surface level. Gao Tu is being dealt bad hands, nothing happening is anything he can control. If he reveals he's an omega, his father will probably sell him to the highest bidder for a quick buck, he's afraid SWL will turn on him, he'll then be jobless and his sister will die if her fees aren't paid and sure they are paid now but this is a sickness, anything could turn at any moment; and lastly he's always had to take care of things so he doesn't trust anyone to take care of him. There's a lot for us to root for when it comes to Gao Tu, that's why we like the 2nd couple. SWL always laments about his loneliness even though he doesn't think of it as loneliness, just last episode we were given a glimpse into his relationship with his parents so we know there's also neglect there which explains why he could be how he is. We saw him take care of the one person in the show who's always taking care of others, that is growth. He got his ear bit off by that doctor for how he acts; there is actual backlash to his actions, he gets held accountable. He's the ONLY one who's not afraid to speak his mind with Hua Yong when everyone walks on eggshels around him... is his mind a dumpster truck? YES but he's still not afraid to level with the most powerful being in the universe; he doesn't get enough credit for that. But with Hua Yong, there's nothing yet. The storyline just pretends he's right all the time, at some point it's annoying. It's like watching a Chuck Norris movie, what's the point of a main character if the story will treat them like they are aware they're the main character.No struggle, no development, nothing. Too much plot armour. I have nothing much to say about ShaoYong, he seems to exist only to exist. He's trying to find a cure for his father but we don't even know of the relationship they have... is he trying to find a cure out of filial duty or does he genuinely want his father healed? At more times than not, even that searchnfor a cure is sidelined for no reason. I have to study his character a bit more before I dissect him. But yeah, as of now, we root for Gao Tu and SWL coz they have an actual story and a few hurdles to get over before they can be together. Hua Yong and his man, they're currently chuck norris-ing their storyline and until that "main character plot amour" trope is used a bit less, it's gonna be difficult for people to truly enjoy their genius characters.
