Yes, China, please keep producing these BL series I’m loving them! Also i’m always here for manly bottom and pretty top. No offense to other countries BL productions (which I also enjoy), but China will always be my favorite. Censored or or not. And I keep seeing people talk about how this show had a huge budget, but honestly, it seems pretty average if you're familiar with the high budget standards of Chinese dramas. For comparison, for thai bl something like The Next Prince a high budget BL, yet its budget matches this one which, by Chinese standards, isn't considered big at all. Anyway, I’m excited and ready for the upcoming episodes

I’m sorry but it’s just not my vibe, it was giving very typical uke-seme vibe and that’s just not my thing. And main character high pitched baby voice was getting on my nerves.

As someone who dropped cutie pie cuz i just couldn’t take the imbalanced relationship but surprisingly i enjoyed the first ep, teenage me would’ve been over the moon to see queer relationship in this type of genre in live action . I hope they keep the quality until the end.

I want more asian queer stories like this where the romance is the subplot.

Heesu in class 2 manhwa is coming of age story with queer as main leads and have beautiful bonds between characters both romantic and platonic. And deals with Their inner struggles and flaws. Not only was main character spotlight was stolen, his friendship changyong was ruined who was selfish asshole, a total opposite of manhwa oh, and he was also bi they could’ve explored that but no😒 And lets not forget other 2nd ml( seungwoon) who has no personality beside having crush on heesu, his struggles and relationships with his moms was cut off so they can shove this non existent straight down our throat.

After word of honor censorship become very strict and danmei adaptions are banned, but jitd and the spirealm changed names to further their connection to cannon material and so it can air, but they were still not able to broadcast in china.

Gosh i’ve seen people on tumblr being full of it, writing huge essays on why it’s such a good show😒

To pass the censorship, you can actually see the actors speaking the real names but they dubbed over it and they did the same with the spirealm.

Yes weak hero class is what i call an adaptation done right despite so many changes.

The original work is not explicit and is very slow burn but they cut almost every scene for their development it was a story with actual queer characters and senguen whole character was just having a crush on heesu they ruined and deleted most of his story and character development. Not to mention the 2nd couple was also queer but they erased i’m sorry but i hope the director never touches another lgbt story again.

It had all the ingredients to be such a fun show but it was just so boring.

So in author’s note she wanted the manhwa to called “A Love Counselor” but changed it to “Heesu in Class 2” to put Heesu usually a sidekick or mob chatter to the more heroic Changyong at the center. It was meant to be his moment to shine as the true main character. While everything revolved around him there were never supposed to be four main leads, But the final product completely missed the mark, disregarding everything the author claimed to aim for. Not to mention every subtle slow development between him and seungwoon was cut off or heesu moment of realization that it’s ok to be with person of same gender or seungwoon who was so cold to everyone but never hesitate to show affection to heesu even before they started sating i just can’t take how they ruined this beautiful coming of age story into this complete disaster. I just can’t support the straightwashing of queer stories in Korea. I’d rather back shows like The Devil Judge, Beyond Evil, and Friendly Rivalry, where the creators clearly understand the queerness of their characters, even if they can’t fully show it due to budget or censorship.

Been rewatching it and oh god the writing continues to amaze me so many parallels and details And last scene where suho is wearing seuin jacket and how donald na wants to be stopped just like the webtoon or how he was also from class 2 etc and there are so many things i want to say, but overall the whole show was just fantastic.

Love the scene at the airport so much, seuin really needed to hear that and the scene where baku was eating with his father and couldn't even finish the sentence and start crying.

Honestly as someone who read a lot of novels and mangas or webtoon i don’t really mind the adaptation changes as long they make me care about the characters which whc2 did, while i’m also watching another manhwa adaptation heesu in class 2 and they ruined everything there.

I don’t know I still loved him.
