OUCH!!! Wow, I Read Just A Few Words Of Your Review, And I Find You Being A Little Too Harsh, And A Bit Judgemental…
Thank you for your message. If you had read my review attentively, you would have understood that my review was about the scriptwriting and characters, and had nothing to do with the actors, whom I don’t know personally and care about no more than the strangers I pass by every day. Have a good day.
P.S. I took a look at the dramas you’ve reviewed because I thought we might share some similar tastes. I’ve…
Well, everything depends on us. It’s ultimately on the audience. These dramas are commercial products, and if people start demanding something different, producers will eventually deliver something different.
I feel compelled to take a stand against what I call cultural junk food, just as I avoid actual junk food at the supermarket. With junk food, I simply don’t buy it. And with these kinds of dramas, since they rely on ratings, I rate them low. Recently, I’ve really noticed a decline in quality and depth in cinese dramas too. It feels like mass-produced content designed to distract people rather than inspire them. Aside from a few dramas, I don’t see much that is truly educational anymore.
So I’m planning to start "Marvelous Women", both to learn more about history and because I always appreciate stories of resilience, especially as a woman. I’m trying to find the first episode with English subtitles, and I’ll watch it slowly, maybe one episode a day, until something genuinely interesting comes along. Of course, I will give a try to the other costume dramas you rated; they truly look interesting. Thanks a lot. xx
Thank you for your message. I’m glad to hear that you also wish to see more inspirational, educational, or intelligent…
You expressed your opinion beautifully, and I completely agree with everything you said. I truly believe that the entertainment industry can play a significant role in shaping people’s behavior and mindset. As you mentioned, social media is partly to blame, and many people are highly susceptible to external influence. Even those of us who are more resistant are still affected to some degree.
One of the reasons I started watching Chinese dramas in the first place was because of their inspirational themes. I had grown tired of many Western movies that seemed to focus mainly on noise, violence, and desensitization in the last years. There’s so much that could be discussed on this topic, but I just want to say that it’s refreshing to come across someone with such depth like you.
I made it to half of the second episode before dropping. It’s predictable and I agree with all that you said…
P.S. I took a look at the dramas you’ve reviewed because I thought we might share some similar tastes. I’ve been running out of shows to watch lately, and nothing has really inspired me. I realized I haven’t seen any of the ones you rated, so I’m going to give some of them a try. They look very interesting, and I’ve added them to my list. 😊
Shame on you , you people are soo desperate to give ratings without watch it . What a jealousy and shame full…
Thank you for your message and your "kind" words. Maybe we do need more educational-themed dramas so that people don’t confuse a story or fictional work with real life, and also, become kinder towards real people. It is completely legitimate to write a review after the first episode because I am allowed to do so. You can give it a ten if you want. I have no problem with that.
But to throw angry words at me just because I have a different opinion and chose to write a legitimate review — which is allowed — is not a sign of maturity. Life is real, a fictional story is not. I respect other people’s reviews, and I really don’t care whether someone thinks like me or not. Freedom of opinion is frankly different than aggression towards people who think differently than you. Have a relaxing evening, morning or afternoon, whenever you are.

Thank you for your message. I’m glad to hear that you also wish to see more inspirational, educational, or intelligent themes in dramas. Maybe you could even join me in giving a rating or boycotting this show.
But be prepared — people might attack you fiercely, as happened to me after I posted my review. What I really don’t understand is why some viewers become aggressive when it’s completely legitimate to share an opinion, especially since it’s allowed to review a show after only one episode. Attacking someone simply because they didn’t enjoy it at all, or because they gave a review after just one episode, seems, frankly, almost concerning to me.
Personally, it doesn’t affect me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But the level of hostility some people show towards real people is, unfortunately, worrying.
I agree. I am getting so tired of Cheng Yi dramas. it’s so depressing. who needs a constant sad drama when the…
Hi, I think he might be overworked or exhausted. That said, I don’t think I’ll be watching his next drama, or if I do, I might leave a lower rating as a quiet form of boycott. Personally, I’d love to see more inspiring and original stories, ones that uplift and genuinely touch people’s hearts and minds. So yes, I completely agree with your point.
Your rating of 2 is totally justified. Though I would rate casting at 1.
Hi! Well, I still think he’s a good actor, even if the script didn’t do him any favors. 😊 I checked out some of your reviews, they are not exactly glowing, haha! Hope you’re still finding some dramas to enjoy!
