There are so many amazing characters in this show... now that I am at the end I respect and appreciate Ji Chong for doing the right thing. But he did the right thing to undo the great wrong thing he did to begin with. I can empathise with him but after what happens to Bo Wang and Zhai Xing, I cannot quite forgive him.

Ji Chong is an eagle. I think Zhaixing is a butterfly. And Yao Ji is a snake. Bao Na is probably a horse. I modified a nursery rhyme for @sony_t based on their hidden animals just scroll below.

Wow Yao Ji surprised me:
So she is in love with Bo wang. But she doesn't try to burden him with reciprocating, she just saves him. It is not just Ji Chong after all that is the one that can love selflessly asking for nothing in return here.

There are some hints of supernatural elements - he can command the wind for example, he has amazing endurance for pain and he pretty much leaps and runs with the speed and grace of awolf. If you watch it carefully, all of the main characters have an inner animal.

Are you watching the Wolf?
Ah yes... same with me at first - why do people do such things! I am not done with it yet but I still think its very good - all 3 main leads are very strong. The story is also quite decent but you have to like darker stuff.

I made this just for you:

Wheedle eagle, puddin’ and pie,
Kissed the butterfly and made her cry,
When the wolf came out to play
Wheedle eagle flew away

And it is intended all in good fun only!!!

Lemme just tell you its been bursting out of me since I saw the first 3 episodes of them cavorting in the woods. Little Red Riding Hood was one of my favorite childhood fables. My eyes bogged out and I was shocked when I discovered the ahem... erotic connotations in a folk literature course.

Why can't tencent put this on wetv also? Why just tencentvideo.......
I believe the international rights were sold to Viki, probably for an exclusive period. But China Literature, which is owned by Tencent bought New Classics Media, the production company. So Tencent should ultimately own the rights. It should eventually revert to Tencent but it will likely take some time.

I find most Chinese dramas easily dated and The Wolf, with the three years delay in airing, has not escaped this…
Ji Chong is an eagle - also well cast with Xiao Zhan's long neck and they styled him to look like one too. I think (but am not sure) that Xingér must be a butterfly.

Well by some accounts Little Red Riding Hood was originally an adult folktale about a girl who has trysts in the woods with a rogue. The story was adapted into the current child appropriate form... kind of like c-dramas including The Wolf after emerging from censorship...

I'm unbelievably over the white foundation that's currently in use for just about every Asian drama. I love, love,…
LMAO... you mean to say the Trump tan is hopelessly outdated... and cheap by current standards! Taiwan and HK are very Western and their actors frequently sport natural tans. It doesn't actually look the least bit orange on my TV...

Wow honestly I found this show darkly riveting but not that sad... until I got to the mid-30s at best I teared up but wasn't bawling. But now, it just feels really, really heartbreaking...
