Maybe its not Xuanye. Maybe the bro swapped into him again - bro hasn't met Banxia yet. I doubt he can use that sword again after the case cracked.

Ah I didn't watch that trailer but maybe the story changed in the subsequent editing?

Well its a super long story about a hero's journey to the throne. S1 closes all the important subplots from the season and can be watched just as a slice of life that ends with his journey continuing.

Lol - I am probably not the best person to ask about lighter tone dramas. I go for dark stories and sad or open endings don't bother me. I guess maybe Blood of Youth, In A Class of Her Own and New Life Begins? You could also try Joy of Life, Sword Snow Stride and Young Blood. They are all written by my favorite screenwriter. Dark humor with ok endings but not exactly light.

The pairing in AYTO didn't really work for me visually and I didn't really like the writing either. It was alright but far from the best drama I watched. I watched Autumn Ballad a long time ago I don't really remember much of it but I rated it an 8.0 same as AYTO and Rise of Ning.

Banxia started seeing the white crow as a a result of the mirror demon's curse. That resulted in her interfering with Mrs Cui's fate. The backlash was Mrs Cui's fate befell her instead. The sword opened bc it was not Banxia's fate to die to begin with so Xuanye was able to use it on her but not on the others.

I rarely watch dramas for the romance so that is never an issue for me. Zhang Wanyi is a terrific actor but I still feel his best role so far has been as Cang Xuan in Lost You Forever. Rise of Ning was pretty decent but I skipped Si Jin.

Shen Tunan /Martial uncle must have been waiting in the Underground City for the gate to the Wuyou Realm to open…
The butterfly was always flitting around him. It should be his companion demon.

Yes that is a classical title full of metaphors. The willow tree is a symbol of endurance and longing while the boat represents a journey. The image it brings to mind is romantic, a boat sailing under a willow tree is the subject of many Classic paintings. So it suggests an enduring love story that overcomes challenges.

Have anyone notice that everytime Song Zuer have a huge amount of dialogue in a scene she just says it without…
Her lines are very well delivered with good inflection and her articulation is super clear. I have no problem understanding her without glancing at the subtitles. If only all the other actors can do that...

Yes it is bc it is an interpretive language. Sometimes its hard for even native speakers to understand the meaning until they get into the story. I guess that's why they just go with a generic or unrelated English title most of the time. Its just too hard to translate it properly.

What’s the translation of the original name of the drama? I tried to Google it 无忧渡 (Carefree Crossing)…
That's an accurate translation but with Chinese titles there are many layers to the name. The third word 渡 (Dù) means to ferry or crossing but it has many Buddhist/Taoist connotations; ie. deliverance from suffering. In Chinese supernatural stories, the ferryman guides souls between realms. In some ways that is what Xuanye is as a demon hunter.
