I watch lots of these so called CPC propaganda dramas. There are some really good ones and some really bad ones too. But nowadays the propaganda if there is any, is very low key and presents a much more balanced and surprisingly open point of view of what happened in history and even KMT idealists are depicted as people who just wanted the best for their country. It is much more open than the very biased Western propaganda on China that can't even get something simple like their pronouns right. It is CPC, not CCP. There is no such thing as the CCP other than in Western media imagination and sloppy lack of fact checking and just plain disrespect. The big bad CCP is nothing but a figment of Western media and racist government propaganda and ignorance. It doesn't exist.
