Edward Guo is the director/screenwriter of the movie. He was accused and guilty of plagiarize another writer work like two decades ago and only now he apologized to her. Chinese netizens are angry about that and even pointed on Weibo that Ying Yang Master: Dream of Eternity have some plagiarism elements from Doctor Strange, so the government ordered the film to be taken out of theaters.
Apparently the movie have been cancelled and taken out of theaters in China following the backlash Edward Guo is suffering rn. I'm so sad for the actors who worked really hard for this. I still hope it's coming to Netflix on Feb 5. [Edit: I just searched it on their catalog and it's not there anymore.] WHYYY
i just saw another Yinyang master movie listed here with different actors (With Aloys Chen). are they based on…
Yea both movies have the same novel has background script. The difference is that the one with Deng Lun is an straight adaptation from the original novel and the other one with Aloys Chen is adapted from Onmyoji mobile game universe (which use the novel characters and story with lots of changes). So we have same characters in both movies but the storylines is actually different.
I have to say that I absolutely love the voice of the actor playing Yoo Han. It's so soft and calm, I could listen to him talking all day long without get tired
I loved the first episode and I guess on the drama this "color blindness" is a common condition in the world like the "Pinocchio syndrome" was in Pinocchio with Shin Hye and Jong Suk. I may be wrong tho, but judying by the hints they gave us about the condition in the first episode it is somehow similar to me
I had dropped this show after the first 2 episodes, then later on I gave it another try and this was the best decision I made this year. The script have lots of plot holes, illogical and absurd events and all characters are hateful but at the end all twists and shock value are soooo good that make it up for the poor writing. Episode 19 got me cheering and screaming with joy for freaking 1 hour. It's so satisfying seeing bad people get what they deserve.
In the scene where the Queen is twerking to BLACKPINK in the rain there's a moment when Court Lady Choi says "Oh my God". I suppose she said "Omo" however I replayed several times but I still hear OMG. I'm just crazy, right?
DAEBAK!!! I have to say that I hate dramas with long run time episodes but with this one I wouldn't mind if it was longer than 1h20min. Shin Hye Sun just can't stop impressing me. She knows exactly how to pick lead roles so she can improve her acting range in every drama. Episode 4 first scene was amazing with the confrontation between the Queen and King. Top level acting by both actors. And the ending made me hang in the corner of my seat all the time. Next sat/sun can't come soon enough. 10/10 for now
First two episodes were amazing. I already love the 4 leads and their unique personalities. Siwan is nailing it as a weirdo and Se Kyung looks radiant. However I have to agree with someone bellow in the comments, this gives such a ROY vibe - which make me scared a bit. I hope it don't go downhill after the first half like most of dramas of this genre usually go recently.
~Screenwriter: How many times do you want Joo Kyung to fell? Director: Yes ~ I'm afraid when she learns to walk properly they will not have anymore cringy scenes for storyline and the drama will just end.
First half was excellent. Interesting, really good acting and writing. Then became super boring, it felt like watching a GTA San Andreas live action meeting Busted. The transgender character was a nice surprise tho . 7/10
