XJ is a total green flag . but the ml of malicious empress is kinda red flag. not the toxic abusive one I'm talking about the red flags we all love lol. He is flirty , arrogant and lethal. one of the favourite ml of all time.if you think the couple of female general are a power couple then the leads of malicious empress are on a whole another level. try reading it. it is really good. and yes an adaptation is on the process. but I'm afraid if they will find the perfect cast. specifically for the ml because his appearance should be perfect. and I don't think Reba would play. she doesn't look like shen miao

We need to understand this is a big novel squeezed into a 35min 36 episodes drama. So they can't show everything. I have to say they have tried there best. But yeah still they could have done a better job at editing the beginning episodes

the ratings are high because the actors have done a wonderful job portraying the characters and their chemistry is off the chart. the drama has also done a good job of adapting most of the novel scenes, so it satisfies us novel readers.
