Its fiction. it's supposed to be a fun, laid-back, cute drama. Being strong and independent doesn't mean you have to always be serious and elegant or poised. Life can't exist without that element. but at least you are honest about your preferences.
I'm excited to see our eccentric couple today. Massaging my cheeks before battle. There is going to be a lot of smiling and straight-up fangirling. haha

I agree with your sentiments on the Lee Joon and his character. I couldn't really put into words how I felt about the two and you voiced it perfectly. I definitely think that Lee Joon has played similar character in the past and has already proved to be quite an exceptional actor but its time to see him portraying other characters. I don't think constantly playing emotional characters is good on the mind and the body but hey everyone's different.
I think the way the Character Lee Tae was written had a lot to do with how he was portrayed. I don't think that there actually was supposed to be any character development from what was shown in the last episode but the drama still worth the time.
I watched the last episode, had a good night's sleep( haha at like 2 am) and have collected my thoughts. I am ready to bid my farewells.
Firstly let's start with LCP, I DIDNT EXPECT HIM TO DIE SO EASILY! Hahaha, but his death was inevitable as he was the tragic hero in the story and a tragic hero eventually has to meet their demise. He died before the king could prove himself and I think that the king kind of wanted some sort of recognition from him. But alas, the king's political rival had come to his humble end. Honestly, I wanted him out of people to survive despite his twisted ways, he still had good intentions.
Queen Dowager... my, my... (loved the last scene between her and LCP)was she a tragic character. I think it's mainly because she let herself be manipulated and stripped from the life that she wanted. By the time she realized that it was too late and it still took someone to manipulate her for her to realize it. Of course, that realization had led to hatred and the birth of a tyrant. I think her punishment was by far the best punishment given in the show and across historical pieces. Death is always the easy way out for a criminal but unfortunately the customs of the Joseon era.
Jung Eui Gyun the Eunuch and Bodyguard...was he the man, haha. I expect him to accept punishment but I'm glad he didn't. He was ultimately the most loyal and trustworthy character. Minister of War was 'finally' punished for his sin although I didn't see a need for it. Lady Cho, we all know that her plans aren't going to work and will probably go down the same path as Queen Dowager.
And last but not least our lovely couple finally got their happy ending. I loved how the king called his own son ugly. He's going to be a good father, hahaha. I love how our couple came to a "compromise" in terms of the ideals and methods by not only supporting each other but by recognising each other as rivals. Ultimately a really good ending for a Historical piece with the majority of the main character still alive, haha.
Praises to the director and writer for creating such a beautiful piece and to the whole production team for making it happen. Compliments to the cinematographer and Soundtrack team, and to the actors for bringing the story to life.
A story of the "good" seeking good. 8/10 for me, would recommend and watch it again. Farewell friends, until we meet again!
