I feel like,maki also meant he’s waiting for Aoki to catch up to him regarding in the intelligence & observation level(he’s basically saying he wants Aoki to be on his level). 2.Maki’s also waiting for him to start a potential relationship heh 😏. I mean Aoki dumped yukiko but couldn’t leave maki,that says a LOT!
I also love how Aoki refused to leave Maki’s side,after he broke up with Yukiko. Aoki wanted yukiko to be safe but more importantly he knew that him being attracted to yukiko was influenced by Suzuki’s memories. When yukiko said that since you’ve broken up with me for my safety,you’re also going to leave Maki too right? You treasure/adore him that much,you’ll also leave him & the Ninth too right? But Aoki said no he won’t lmao,I feel like it made things clear to yukiko right there that, Aoki cherished maki more than her & also the way he spoke about maki,she must’ve known that Maki is more important to Aoki than her.
