Totally get what you mean—Ran Ran’s pace can be a bit frustrating, especially if you’ve already seen what Qing Ge is capable of. Taking a break makes sense! But if you ever decide to come back to it, I think you’ll find it really pays off. The ending is super satisfying, and both the FL and ML end up being equals in both brains and power.

And come to think of it, as she regains her MQG memories, she definitely becomes wiser and calmer. That overly crushy vibe she had toward her master? Don’t worry, that doesn’t last long. You’ll see a much stronger, more composed side of her—it’s worth the wait!

Usually in the novels, the characters are better explained and grow well on the reader because a book has no chapter…
Good point.. To be honest they mirror each other, it's just fans have different take on them.

You do not need to criticise the ml in order to bring Julia or her character up. Many have praised her here.
Same goes to them.

ep 23/24 - although she doesn’t become her old badass self, just remembers everything and gains a bit of confidence
by 25 or 26. MQG personality is already showing, she's calmer and already acting like a master to Yi Shui. You can see the change there.

I’ve noticed a lot of hate towards the female lead, and honestly, I think it’s just male lead favoritism. She’s a new face to them, and people aren’t giving her enough credit. Her character is incredibly selfless, and she’s doing her best despite all the challenges she’s facing. It’s a bit frustrating to see so much focus on her flaws when the male lead’s character is often praised for displaying the same traits. Instead of focusing on her imperfections, maybe it’s time to recognize the strength and selflessness she’s showing. And honestly, young Yi Shui (from the first part) was much more problematic than Ranran. He was almost like a villain in his early days—full of ego and impulsiveness. If people are going to criticize her for being rash, they should consider how much worse his character was when he was younger.

I really want to keep watching but I can't deal with the FL being so rash/thoughtless and putting herself in harm's…
I get that it's frustrating, but honestly, the female lead is just acting like Su Yi Shui did when he was younger—rash, impulsive, and putting himself in harm's way without thinking things through. He wasn't exactly known for his self-preservation either, was he? The fact that she's not solving everything immediately is part of her growth, and it's the same way he was once reckless and manipulated because of his impulsiveness. So, if you're going to criticize her for that, maybe you should consider that the male lead went through the same thing. It's part of the story, and if you can't accept her character growth, maybe this isn't the right show for you.

i loved the beginning of this, but since the FL become that girl that disobey and dishonors her master as she…
I get that you feel the shift in the female lead's character was jarring, but I think it's important to consider her development within the context of the story. The female lead’s behavior now—disobeying and questioning her master—actually mirrors how Su Yi Shui was when he was younger. He was impulsive, full of ego, and often did things his way, even if it led to negative consequences. Remember, he played a role in MQG's death because of his own impulsive actions and how easily he was manipulated. He wasn’t flawless, and his impulsiveness made him a far less balanced character at one point.

Now, with the female lead, it's not about 'fake feminism' or childish behavior; it’s about her evolving into someone who can make her own decisions, just like Su Yi Shui did when he was in her shoes. If we’re quick to criticize her for her actions now, we might be forgetting that the male lead also had his own flaws in his youth, ones that were just as disruptive and impulsive. Both characters are growing in their own way, and I think it’s crucial to see her actions as a reflection of the same journey Su Yi Shui went through. Just because she’s becoming more independent doesn’t mean she’s dishonoring anyone—it’s just part of her character arc, which is essential for her growth.

As for the emotional maturity or wisdom, it’s important to remember that no one starts off perfect. She’s learning, just like he did, and both characters have their flaws. I think it's unfair to judge her for the same things we accepted in the male lead’s younger years.

Just finished...3 kids?! The honeymoon phase clearly never ended — they’ve been thriving in the sheets, skipping the 'sleep' part of bedtime, and I honestly don’t know what’s stronger, their marriage or their stamina. 😂🔥🛏️

Person Julia Xiang
I just finished two of her dramas. She's a good young actress. Her main roles seem to be doing well too, with ratings above 8. I hope she gets more main roles, even if the male leads aren't that high profile. I just want to see her take on more challenging roles.

Im on episode 5, and Im really struggling with the main female leads personality. She gives off this super over…
No, you're just one of the few who hated FL. She doesn't appear arrogant to me at all if you want to call someone arrogant call the 18 years su yi shui.

After all the sacrifices she made for yi shui, we're all left speechless.

While I truly loved the original MQQ, I think the story’s progression makes sense. Their different upbringings…

I don't know if it's because they rearranged the episodes, but since I watched their past first I liked the original…
While I truly loved the original MQQ, I think the story’s progression makes sense. Their different upbringings naturally led to different personalities as they matured. That said, I have to respectfully disagree—XRR isn’t your typical cute or naive damsel in distress, regardless of whether she’s at full strength or has lost her powers. As she slowly recovers her memories, we can see parts of MQQ’s character starting to resurface. But let’s not forget—XRR is still only 18 or 19 years old, since she was reborn.

They are even worse in the novel... The script writer made them a lot better in the drama already.
I wish they followed the novel.. I think it's much better karma to have them all dead.
