If South Korea is really like it’s depicted in this series.. I am sorry to say they are on the way to extinction
They are on their way to extinction for a loooong time now, just like the rest of the world lol.

Does anyone know how is the show doing in Korea? Besides LITBC, this is the first korean BL to have such long…
I'd say it's not very popular. I follow quite a few korean drama fans on twitter, most of them being queer girls like me or BL watchers. And I'd say that they are not even interested in it, because they did talk about Secret Relationship, Friendly Rivalry, but not this, and right now they discuss upcoming non romance shows like weak hero class....But yet again, maybe I'm just not making friends with target audience of the shows like this one lol.

I don't think we're watching the same show.
I don't think that you know that everyone's opinions are different, and some things that don't bother you bother other people.

After reading the comments, i'm glad i didn't start watching this lolDefinitely removing from my watchlist.
I mean, it depends. The main character and his future love interest are entertaining and cool, the girl from the second pair is okay, but no one can stand the guy for a good reason. Every episode or scene that focuses on Heesu or Seungwon is VERY good, but episodes that shift focus onto the second pair are kinda bland. The pacing sometimes is too slow or too fast, and some plot things don't make sense.

If you can stand it sometimes being kinda boring and focusing on anything BUT the main character - sure, watch it. But as of now, the show is just...okay. It's okay.

The only prominent thought that I have so far is this: I'm glad I didn't have high hopes after last episode. We…
"Good thing i didn't get my hopes up" yeah, my thoughts exactly. I already said it once, but a lot of people are disappointed because they keep hoping for the best, and in this show....it seems like the best is preparing yourself for disappointment.

Not saying that people are not right in their criticism, but if you already desensitized yourself to the second couple, you can tell that the story overall is kinda lacking. It's lacking as a queer coming of age story in terms of barely focusing on Heesu' inner turmoil, it's lacking as a pure bl we all know why, and it's lacking as a purely regular romance story because let's be honest, Chan Yeong is a very bland ML. It fails to gracefully insert background characters in it without feeling like they just took quite a chunk of the screentime. Pacing is all over the place, sometimes plot points feel too short or too long, sometimes unnecessary.

The good things about it is acting, visual, music, and Heesu's personal journey with inserts of Seungwons troubles. But both of those felt like they got little attention, with the way show focuses on anything but them. And that what's making it feel like Seungwon might just become a rebound...cause the show has clear favouritism for Chan Yeong for some reason, while failing to make him a compelling character.

it’s very easy to tell that this comment section is a bunch of fujoshis who don’t watch anything else 💀…
I've seen more queer people complaining than straight people, but go off i guess. And the rest of your comment doesn't even make sense, because it shows that you didn't even read comments talking about actual substantial criticism.

And to clarify on the first part: Term fujoshi is used as an insult, meaning being "rotten woman", so i see you used it here just as it was intended. Which would mean that it was a jab (kinda misogynistic, i might add) towards women, more often than not straight women who "obsess over men's relationship". But, the people i see complaining? Are either not women, or not straight women, who want honest to god good REPRESENTATION of queer people. So this "clever" comment completely misses the target.

the world is so messed up because in ep 6 all I could think of is Ji Yu going on a sleepover trip with three guys…
I know, right? Into the WOODS. I know they're her friends, but statistically speaking, more often than not people closest to you are the ones who can be the most dangerous.

I thought I was the only one who hated his character😭. it’s like he really does only see heesu as an extension…
Don't even worry about it, after some time spent observing, I've noticed that most of the people here HATE him. I thought that he was a bad friend from the beginning, but at least back then he wasn't as insufferable as he is now.

Contrary to others peoples comment, I found this episode still quite enjoyable, better than the hell hole that…
Also - "trying to flirt without appearing gay to the outsiders". Yeah, i clocked that too, cause that's the same thing i did with girls in highschool, Way harder to hint when you're a woman though....

I actually wish they focused on Heesu's inner turmoil way more than they did, but i'm glad that now they're starting to slowly breach the topic. It was obvious that he struggled with his sexuality from the beginning, but we didn't exactly see it, cause it just seemed that his problem was that he liked Chan Yeong specifically, not that he liked a boy (Considering that he was very accepting of the girl with a crush on athlete, if a little bit surprised. To me, it was another hint tho).

Instead, the beginning of the show focused on anything but that. Heesu trying to get Chan Yeong's attention, him setting Seungwon with Ji Yu, the messages plot that got nowhere, the carrot juice posts. And if the fist two plot points were understandable in how they're important to Heesu's character, then the messages are flimsily tied to his internalised homophobia and fear of being outed, but still turned out to be kinda pointless, just like the juice posts. And i'm not even talking about how Chan Yeong's tennis troubles coulde've fitted in like...eight minutes? Instead of being dragged. So it felt like Heesu's character got little attention in every episode after the second one (excluding the fifth one).

But! I still liked that we're slowly getting to his real problems and see how he's beginning to accept himself with Seungwons help.

However, it's still a shame how the show that promised so much turned kinda lackluster.

I hope the damn Su Hyeon fans are happy that Sun Hyung feels very uncomfortable around the fanbase of the show and is visibly nervous now, because they were the main ones attacking him. Yall are insufferable on all platforms.

So called "fans" are the reason why parasociality is poison, and why most fans distanced themselves from the show.

A little off topic but are the OSTs release yet?
Nope, not yet. At least on spotify. But i would expect them to be released either nearing the airing end date, or after the show is fully aired.

Maybe people would be less angry if they didn't keep hoping that it would get better, and after getting a glimpse…
I feel like people who promote the show are at fault too. For example, they released preview photos, and one of them was a scene where Heesu sleeps on Seungwons shoulder in the bus scenes. Other scenes were shown in the episode. This one however wasn't, although it was shown alongside the ones that did.

So by this point, i'm not surprised people are angry at being blatantly baited.

yall are insufferable like YES we get itttt the straight couple is getting way too much screen time in a bl show…
Maybe people would be less angry if they didn't keep hoping that it would get better, and after getting a glimpse of something good, something disappointing weren't always lurking around the corner :p After all, being sad or angry is a very normal and very human reaction.

tbh i'll let the show have it for this week. they keep playing in our faces too much
They let us have three good episodes, which is already a half ☝️🤓 maybe by the end of it, we will have a half-good show, lol.
