Ah, yes, and I would understand why you like it!!
I am straight but I also like danmei adaptation. But I guess what I like the most about danmei adaptation is the fact that they focus on the storyline, and the whole relationship is relevant to the storyline. I am so sick of regular c dramas which take too many parts of the screen just to focus on the whole irrelevant lovey dovey scenes, and then digress the main storyline to the stupid misunderstanding between the main couple, then the make-up part etc. Oh and not to mention they usually have 2nd couple whose existence has no function in the whole storyline!
Danmei adaptation get to focus on the storyline at least 90% of the whole screen, and the level of cute interaction and chemistry between the leads are just enough to give me that sugary sweet feeling!

I am wondering, why there are many females (and straight females) who like danmei or danmei adaptation? Why do guys like danmei? What part of danmei adaptation you like which you don’t get from other genre?

I have never moved on from HoB donghua!! It’s the best donghua I have ever seen.
