Well, I still believe it is possible. If it’s gonna be on shelf, what’s the harm of selling it. And Netflix would know the fanbase of the novel etc. Also, it doesn’t have to be Netflix, it can be WeTV international platform. Anyway, none of us know for sure how this whole industry works as I myself doesn’t really deal with entertainment industry, but I guess it’s time to connect with some of my old friends who may understand better. Haha, I never imagine I would go to this extent for a drama 😂

True, but the target is the people. So, only if people start to ignore and stop spreading, then they won’t benefit of it. I hope the government really take down these people who like to spread rumor and cause internet anxiety. I really hope this is just rumor 😞

We never really know what actually happens, maybe it’s just rumor after rumor…whoever is doing this (even if it is those giant corps, don’t let ourselves become the collateral damage 🤗

Here are a few reasons I hold on to keep my faith:
1. Hyx drama may not have any BL aspects, it can still focus on the whole master-disciple relationship and still do just fine in following the storyline. We have seen that sometimes even master-disciple relationship is stronger than lovers in c drama. So, there is no good reason to ban this drama.
2. Even if hyx is not approved to air, maybe it is only banned for TV, it still can air as web drama.
3. If it is banned in China even as web drama, I believe Tencent can still sell it to international platform. I believe company like Netflix has team looking out for good stuffs around the globe. And I have a feeling even at this moment, Netflix is already targeting Immortality. Tencent having spent so much for this drama, I believe will sell it if it really cannot air in China. In fact, I will re-watch WoH in Netflix now so it adds the view count, so Netflix has more faith in this genre c drama 😂
4. All in all, if airing in China poses so much risk for the future BL and the actors, well, sorry my fellow clowns in China, I may wish hyx becomes web drama and only air outside China (cheers to VPN, no worries).

Anyway, until it really happens, there is no point in torturing ourselves, guys. Keep the positive energy, it’s a law of attraction. Good energy attracts good things 😊

I still choose to have hope, though. Because they can't just ban it without seeing it. I mean, if their problem is the whole 'pretty and feminine boys' or affections between guys...well, probably Immortality won't have that! They can just be inspired by 2ha and only focus on the main storyline...shimei is already a girl for god's sake!!

The focus of the article is more towards "pretty boys", how the society are now towards feminine guys...they talked about girls nowadays look for guys who have feminine traits, and that is bad to the culture etc. And then there was also a part mentioned scenes in drama where guys used a body language to show their interest in other guys etc.
I can't never understand how come the 'pretty boys' things are blamed to danmei? Isn't that coming from the whole k-pop? And even the regular drama will have all these pretty boys!

I mean, hyx can be just another regular xianxia drama...it can't be banned for no reason.
Actually, if China is so strict, I always wonder how come they are so open to allow so many palace dramas which use real names, real people images from their history and then created a totally different drama or fantasy out of it. Like even in Court lady, the drama clearly showed how the crown prince (in history, emperor LiChengqian) is gay...how did that even pass censorship...

I think it will always be like that forever. But for the authority to ban hyx, it will need a strong case. If hyx is just another drama portraying friendship or strong master-disciple relationship, I don't think they can build a case against it. People are just trying to create an atmosphere of fear, for whatever motivation it is, but I do believe you can't simply just ban something out of pressure from internet. Is it only on twitter? Because in weibo, this topic is not even trending...
