She and he both had a very bad day that day. He lost a patient and she was sexually assaulted. Then she learned…
I have no doubt if she had told him about the assault he would have went and beat up the guy! I always hate these time skips - 3 years is a LONG time and a bit unreasonable for us, the audience, to believe. Especially in this day and age where we have internet and cell phones and video calls. There is really no reason why they could not have had a long-distance relationship while he was training. And they both could have flown to each other to visit at least 2 times a year - he could have flown to Korea once a year and she could have went to the US once a year - every six months - but to make them be apart for 3 years with no communication whatsoever really doesn’t make sense to me. Course I know it’s for the storyline but if I loved someone for as long as she has, I’d have found a way to make it work. I might have been upset at first but it’s not like he wasn’t going to discuss it with her - I think because she asks him if he even considered her feelings in the decision and he doesn’t answer - I don’t think his lack of response meant he didn’t -I think he didn’t answer because he was hurt that should would even think that about him - we know he meant to talk to her about it because he told her he had something he wanted to discuss with her - unfortunately she heard about it before he had a chance to tell her - and remember, he originally told his boss he wasn’t going to go because of her. He never wanted to leave her. A lot of this is coming back to me as I remember some of the cdrama. I should go back and rewatch the last 3-4 episodes again. Lol.

She didn’t call him either. She’s is just as much at fault. Her character is really immature - she doesn’t…
I did get the timing wrong - someone else corrected me about that. I didn’t remember it correctly because it’s been a while since I watched the c-drama. I think they needed this catalyst though so we can see how they eventually talk it all,out and become stronger because of it. We see a real character change for ML from this point on. He never thought she’d leave him so he was devastated by this. I think it really humbled him - I believe that he loved her but he was a bit arrogant in thinking he was her world and he’d never lose her. She put him on a pedestal and when he didn’t respond the way she wanted, she realized he wasn’t perfect and I think it shocked her. Now they can heal and become better partners for each other. It’s all good. I learn a lot from all the comments. It’s good to see things from other’s views.

I know right? And it’s actually realistic because so many couples even in real, life don’t communicate well. I think the c-drama also had a special episode where the whole thing was narrated from his point of view only - I think that may be what you are referring to? I am just looking forward to the last episode - I am wondering if they will follow the cdrama with the apartment scene…..lol

I guess I got the timing wrong - I thought it was 1-1/2 years. Thank you for clarifying. I had forgotten about the phone being thrown into the lak as well. Lol now that you said that I remember that scene. Yes, it didn’t make sense he would leave as soon as he saw her with him - you’d think as long as they dated they would not be so insecure with each other but we hear him pour out his insecurities to 2ML when they get drunk. He says he never understood why she loved him - he didn’t think he was lovable. It was really sad but that was a great turning point in his character. I never understood either how someone who was so head over heels in love with the same guy for over 10+ years could be so stubborn and prideful. She’d rather lose him than admit she was wrong as well? It would be different if he was dating around, treating her like he hated her, but he comes back all with the mindset to make up -he’s never stoped loving her and it shows. She should humble herself a little bit. A relationship is give and take. I love reading everyone’s responses. I learned a few things from you all.

She didn’t call him either. She’s is just as much at fault. Her character is really immature - she doesn’t…
It wasn’t the first time she did this though. She gets mad at him and won’t even talk to him for days. So yes, as someone who is in her mid 20’s at this point she shouldn’t be acting like a 15 year old. She was acting like a child when it came to cutting him off, ignoring him and not even giving him a chance to sit down with her and talk things over. I’m not unsympathetic to her assault but he didn’t know about it. She also didn’t know about his patient dying too - that was traumatic for him as well. They both should have calmed down, stepped back, and talked. He tried over and over to call her, text her, see her but, like a child, she moved and didn’t even tell him, didn’t respond to his texts, and didn’t answer his calls. He had to make a decision and since she wasn’t willing to talk about it, he made it and left. What you don’t see in this version is he actually comes back to see her a few months later but in the airport he sees her with 2ML so he thinks she is with him and he leaves again. Also in the cdrama, he does his 3 year work in 1-1/2 years - he works his butt off and learns it in half the time so he can come back to her quicker. In the meantime, she does absolutely nothing to reach out to him. Nothing. So it’s hard to feel sympathy for her in this aspect. Just my opinion.

Correction - he was supposed to be gone 4 years but he did his work in 3 years. I got the timing wrong.

Well said. I agree with you. I didn’t word my very well. It’s not that I am unsympathetic to her but yes, as long as they had been dating you’d think they would have learned to communicate better. They both left things unsaid and they just snowballed to the point she snapped. He never thought she would ever leave him and she never thought he’d never be there for her. High expectations on each other.

The ML is a jerk only because he gets jealous of her and the 2nd ML. But you can always tell afterwards that he…
You have to remember he is a jealous teenager at this point. Everyone at that age has said and done things they regretted because of being jealous. The whole point is it shows how deeply in love she was with him so when she walks away from him, he is devastated. He explains that in the cdrama - I don’t know if they will show that in this version or not.

You should really watch the cdrama because although he is arrogant and cold in the beginning, the ML really changes by the end - he has a very nice character development and also he explains why he loves her…it’s very endearing when he opens up. It makes you understand him a lot. Plus it goes more into his childhood than the Korean version does and gives you more insight into why he is the way he is.

She and he both had a very bad day that day. He lost a patient and she was sexually assaulted. Then she learned…
He tried contacting her several times to talk but she ignored him and cut him off so he left. And in the cdrama he actually comes back in 1-1/2 years instead of 3 because he worked his ass off the get done faster so he could come back to her faster. And also he returns to see her and sees her with 2ML at the airport. So it’s not like he just left and didn’t try - he did. She, on the other hand, did nothing. He had to move forward since she was staying stubborn where she was. She was really immature about it all. You can’t solve anything by acting like a child and not speaking. She knew he wanted to be a doctor and that would mean long hours until he was established. If she felt like she couldn’t handle it then she should have broke up with him and moved on instead of getting more resentful towards him and then blowing up. They both should have taken a step back, calmed down, and then talked it over. Both were wrong but she stayed mad for 3 years??

Correction: he was supposed to be gone 4 years but he got his training done in 3 years. I got the timing wrong. It’s been a while since I watched the cdrama version.

This Heon guy does not apologize and is incapable of being humble. For him to say that he never considered that…
She didn’t call him either. She’s is just as much at fault. Her character is really immature - she doesn’t even give him the chance to explain or even talk - she just cuts him off and ignores him. What was he supposed to do? Sit and wait on her to stop acting like a child?? Z

how much ep 12 is subbed on viki ?
Episode 11 is still at 82%. Viki is trying to say they subbed 12 % of it from 70-82% since yesterday but you can see from my post 2 days ago what their percentages were at. Episode 12 is still sitting at 60% since 1-2 days ago.

Episode 10 is 99% (and it was released Sunday) , episode 11 is 80% (last night it was at 79% so a whole day it’s…
Yeah I think I am going to hold off trying to watch this for a while until they get them subbed. It’s frustrating to see the episodes come out then have to wait another week for 1 episode to get subbed.

I loved this drama too! Fiction Guo is one of my all-time favorite actors. He is so versatile in his roles. I finished The Life of the White Fox (very funny) and almost done with Su Yu (which is hilarious!) He really does comedy well and then turns and does exceptionally well in Meeting You with a character that is anti-social. He’s just awesome.
