Uhhh. Again that's just what you think. I have seen Sri Lanka being mentioned in a few kdramas and there was this geo-guesser game which was quite popular in western countries and Sri Lanka was quite often shown in it. So by now a lot of people know it. Sri Lanka was also in the news because of its poor economy for quite some time. There might be even more things. Just because you aren't aware of a known country doesn't mean it's not known around the world.
