OMG WHEN WU SHUANG SAID SHE ONLY WANTS APPLES FROM YUN QI AND HE GOT SHY AND SPEECHLESS AAAAAH I LOVE THEM
That was cute cause this girl has no filter whatsoever and she speaks her mind which I find quite endearing.

I like the actress playing the character but it's probably the scriptwriter's intent to make it seem like she's…
Fair take. I am patiently waiting to see it happen and it seems like episode 14 might be the turning point.

I'm seeing some incremental relationship development between Wu Shuang and Yunqi in ep. 14... Before, their arguments…
YQ is quite mature to deliver it to WS in a affirmative way that does not hurt as much. He doesn't reject her completely but pretty much disagrees with the reasons for the marriage and joining the sect. I think the brother might still be alive too it's weird to kill him off in 13 episodes even though he's still a douche.

I usually don’t watch these types of dramas..am here for the ML but I will drop it if the FL doesn’t improve.…
I like the actress playing the character but it's probably the scriptwriter's intent to make it seem like she's innocent and sheltered her whole life ie. obedient, does not think on her own and must follow orders by her master. She is an orphan and desires to have a family, she also has not seen much of the world outside, so I can see why she is like that. I am optimistic that she will get more character development. They were both childhood friends but having to experience the bigger world outside, ML is knowledgeable, smart and independent and he will help her along the way. I actually really like the dichotomy between these two: traditional vs modern way

So in episode 14, it seems like their is an argument between the main leads. They clearly have feelings towards each other but there's a mountain (no pun intended) between them and don't fault why they are so adamant on their beliefs with marriage and politics. It is probably better that they separate for now to work on those problems and to make the heart grow fonder while missing each other's company.

Watching up ep 8 so far, and I can see what some people have complained about wushuang. She shouldn't come with…
Good observation. The blame is always shifted towards the female victim for getting herself in that predicament. Unfortunately, it seems so relevant in today's real society where the woman is often unfairly blamed upon, for example if she is wearing slightly revealing clothing and people assume she is "asking" for it.

You guys are calling the FL annoying but honestly you guys are the annoying ones. Why can't you understand she…
Thank you for speaking up! I like the FL and she is definitely not annoying. I think we will see more character development.

Those who are saying female lead is annoying as hell - annoying as hell, guy's please why are you repeating same…
Are people actually commenting badly on her looks? Seriously? She is one of the most prettiest female actresses I've seen in a Chinese drama. I find her gorgeous in this character, especially with the hair makeup and costume.

I am reading the comments here but I don't agree with some of them. The storyline is sort of refreshing to me. I don't find the FL annoying, in fact, she is one of the reasons why I started watching it, her looks are unique, a classical beauty and charming in her own way. I can't wait to see more chemistry between the leads.

Excited for his new project. Sounds like he will have a dual personality and this drama sounds darker. Is it confirmed that Minami Hamabe is the FL.

Can someone please spoil the ending for me? Do the leads stay together?
Nope. It is implied that they remained as friends in the future who haven't seen each other for a long time and decided to meet each other to have a drink like old times.

I am so genuinely mad at the ending. What was the point of this show if that's the ending? The Female Lead literally…
Both lead actor and actress were in the Memory Eraser movie two years ago. FL in the movie was crushing on ML but in contrast, ML was chasing after FL in this drama. It's somewhat a happier ending in this fluffy drama compared to a heavier tone in that movie despite that they both did not end up together.

FL is cute but she is a terrible lover. Her character just needs more development too like ML. It doesn't help with the 30 min episodes. The storywriter had an hour episode to work out the relationship aspect but it focused so much on work in the first half. Miss seeing ML with his funny expressions this week.

I'm not gonna lie both of the leads are kawaii so cute, if there's no any break up would be more kawaii lol
I love watching the both of them. The actor and actress are so compatible as a on-screen couple and mirrors off each other in acting chops. Their off-screen personalities are both charming that brought the story to life. I really hope they collaborate again in another project.

I do like Sanada's choice to pursue career as a researcher instead of staying in sales department. She didn't…
I just feel indifferent towards Sanada and the way she handled the breakup - she just kept eating like it's nothing. That is so cold and emotionless while Maruya hides and cries. She never really opened up to Maruya nor gave him a chance to really get inside her world, especially in the last 2 episodes so there were so many misunderstanding which made him feel insecure. Maybe I find him more relatable with his wide range of emotions and she's probably right that she's incapable of dating men so its better that they separated and lived out their own careers.

Ngl Sanada's apparent lack of investment in the relationship in the last episode kinda reduce the overall cuteness…
Yes I am on the same boat as you. I felt that it lacked something and Sanada's story just felt flat and forced in the last 2 episodes to stir up the eventual breakup. It takes 2 to tango and it almost seemed like they both given up their relationship to go on their separate ways. 30 years down the future they almost seem like old friends/acquaintances meeting up for a drink. I guess the scriptwriter wanted a "realistic" view that not all romantic relationships pan out in the end. I liked it but felt a void there. It's a bittersweet ending. Wished there was a SP to show us more what happened between the time gap.

Final thoughts. I like how the ending tied up the loose ends and gave us somewhat of a good ending with a sweet kiss. However, I didn't like the ambiguous relationship in the future, they didn't really end up together as Maruya focused solely on work and became the CEO of the company. Why they reunite after 30 years later if they were both still in love? Why she decided to leave for research abroad if Maruya was the special one who gave her a place where she belongs? Why Sanada was so closed off and completely heartless to just break up like it's nothing by saying she isn't capable of being with men? He was the one always trying to change for a better future even if he knew his cuteness will expire and their breakup was inevitable, but it was not reciprocated much on her end even if she was robotic. I loved the development of Maruya, he was not a loser but became successful in his own right when he known that his cuteness was his only weapon. Enjoyed the storyline still and kudos to Yamada for his excellent acting skills.

Last episode was an hour long but I found the first half really dragging it. Happy ending but it felt rushed in the last 15 min. Overall great storyline and acting. So sad it ended and no episodes next Saturday.
