LOL yes I have been asking about this and wanna know the logic but am getting different responses

Lol random comment on celeb gossip but apparently the actors who play YDZ and YWJ worked together before (DY is their second drama together). Apparently they don’t end up together in their first drama either and hope they have a HE if they ever work together again. But is it just me, or do they lack chemistry? I was surprised to hear they worked together before (I think he was the 2nd ML), because there are no sparks lol.

Also apparently the actors playing YY and Lei Meng Sha are together irl hahaha

I wonder if this is how her character was portrayed in the novel. I sympathize with the fact that she was forced to marry out of her will, but question her ability to communicate and think things through.

I really don’t know how Xiao ruo feng thought his brother would make a fine emperor - perhaps it is also out of his selfish desire to not take the responsibility? I didn’t watch TBOY but I heard he died there, did his brother kill him out of paranoia over his power and influence?

Was he the original author of the book? How was it in the novel - did YY die there too? Still wouldn’t make sense for her to be accidentally killed there either

Lol all I can really see is the level of chemistry - which the male leads have more together than with their actual love interests. Could have done without romance… I can see how Wenjun is used as a plot device but am I the only one who finds her relationship with YDZ so dry and forced? Prob due to the lack of foundation (doesn’t help with lack of screen time)

So I skimmed through snippets of the novel ending from the linked shared in the discussion threads above. My Chinese is limited so correct me if I’m wrong but at the part when YY asks BLDJ if he hates YQ (who apparently returned to Tian wai tian), he says that hate doesn’t solve problems and the fact that YDZ died. They can only live on and avoid less regrets…if this is what he says here, then I don’t understand the logic of him hunting down YQ and killing her afterward, resulting in him accidentally killing YY. Did something change between DY and TBOY in the novel for him to want to kill YQ? Also makes no sense that he would mistaken YY for YQ even if she dressed like YQ. It was heartbreaking for BLDJ to lose YDZ, so losing YY in such a way is just cruel.

Adding this drama onto my list - lol I knew about it when it came out last yr but only watched snippets of it. Gonna give it a go after finishing up Dashing Youth. Neo Hou and Zhou Ye look soooooo good together! They literally look like they came out of a manhua. And from their interviews, they have such good on and off screen chemistry (already shipping them bad haha).

I haven’t read either novels but that does not make much sense. I would expect that BLDJ would be able to tell the difference between YY and YQ, YY is his wife! And the fact he mentions the difference in the novel just makes things even more illogical for him to accidentally kill her thinking she is YQ. So YY died in the novel series - and it was only mentioned in passing from a flashback??? That’s so tragic and unfair, not sure why they had to do that to BLDJ - did they find his life too smooth (besides losing YDZ)?

I would have loved to learn more about the 8 young masters - they are so quirky and fun. Did they talk more about the 8 guys in the novel? Wait when did Mr Li get married? Is his wife also immortal? Did I miss something? Lol have yet to finish the series

She definitely did not handle the situation the best but I do sympathize with her because she was a mother to her other son as well, and thinking he was dying, she wanted to see him. She was shackled to her life but her actions pretty much led to pain for YDZ and both sons. Ofc if she had communicated better, it would’ve been different. Anyway, am I the only one that wasn’t crazy about the 2nd cp? Don’t feel the sparks, life would definitely have been more peaceful if YDZ didn’t love her

So did YY ever die in the novel series? Or did she live even in the novel for TBOY? Just trying to figure out whether BLDJ and YY continue living happily ever after haha. Or if she dies in the novel for TBOY

Sorry if i missed this but are the sisters twins? Is that why DJ mistook YY for YQ - you would think he would have figured it out before he killed her (that’s his wife!)

I hope they confirm it soon!!! I can totally see him work in a series like NIF. He excels in complex roles. Even tho it’s prob nice to see him in a romcom I think I liked him so much in LYF that I hope to see him in more layered roles! Think Rise of Ning will be one of them
