Why does it feel like they changed some of the scenes in the storyline?
- Jing getting bitten by some object (don’t recall that in the novel) - XY wearing her dress and CX telling her Jing is dead. In the novel he hears that she put on the dress to marry Jing so didn’t have the heart to see it - XY holding a knife to CX, those lines sound different. Hope they won’t take out the most intense scene where she poisons him and herself
There is still so much to cover and so many important scenes! I’m really worried how it’ll play out since they cut the eps to 21 eps 😭
Omg the angst!!! How can they possibly wrap everything up in 21 eps, there is so much to cover! I hope they don’t cut out scenes and changes things considering it has followed pretty closely to the novel so far 😭
Wasn’t planning on watching this series. Ngl part of it is because I’m always wary of xianxias (many follow similar storylines,l) and skeptical of how the chemistry between ym and gj will turn out. But watched the first few anyway (for jokes?). Am I right to guess that A Lai is Yaya’s idol? They will make an intriguing couple (assuming they are a future pair). But the aesthetics and CGI are quite good.
I can see why this drama is rated low. And I can also see why people that like it really like it. If you’re…
I think I will to start watching the series after looking through snippets of the eps along the way. It looks like a slice of life drama and the romantic development seems natural - esp the confession scene. Nothing grand or over the top, something you can see between everyday ppl!
😭 😭 😭 they are too cute. Maybe I need to rewatch their scenes. I think they are releasing the ep with the main cast in some variety show on the 11th right?
As a novel reader, I honestly couldn't ask for more. They've adapted the drama so well that I'm really starting…
I’m about midway through the novel so look forward to reading the rest in detail. So glad they remained faithful to the story. It definitely has a simpler plot, and is more romance focused, but love how it stands out from other xian xia without the misunderstandings and unnecessary angst. Leads were much more mature
Mo Fang and Fu Rongjun are technically one because in the novel Fu Rongjun's true love was Mo Fang and it was…
thanks for sharing! makes sense now. especially with their scenes together - hate/love relationship. Especially when FRJ tries to help MF when MF/Fu Sheng were trapped and unconscious. I was wondering why FRJ was doing so much LOL.
I prefer the drama FRJ because at least he wasn't heartbroken there
Finally finished the drama! I felt the drama withdrawals today after watching ep 38 last night, and didn't have time to watch ep 39 until today. Ep 39 was a great way to tie everything together with a cute and funny epilogue. Thank you for the entertaining comments, I really enjoyed discussing the show with everyone. I'm sure this was a very comforting drama for those (including the main leads) who felt regret over the ending of PA. It was amazing to see ZLY and LGX again after several years, they've grown as actors and have even better chemistry. I loved them way more in this series! I can't help but ship the actors now T__T (I need to stop this lol).
I will say that this was a much easier watch compared to other xianxias - a simple plot without too much angst or unnecessary misunderstandings. I loved our amazing SL - a strong, courageous heroine who never wavered in pursuing her beliefs and principles. Always fighting for her people. I loved the dynamic she had with XZ, who was the yin to her yang.
There were definitely moments that felt a bit slow, with too many flashbacks - I think they could've easily made this drama to 30-35 eps. But overall the acting, chemistry, solid soundtrack, cinematography and special effects made this a memorable series.
It is actually both. He wanted to be with her in the afterlife but...he also basically said the line from the…
Agreed would’ve been nice to hear him say that line because of how clingy (in a good way) he is. But also totally understandable that they kept it concise because I feel like it might’ve been too lengthy with the cheesy lines and long gazes in a drama format haha

Now onto finishing the novel!
